While I understand that there's a need to discuss this matter, this thread has way too many trash posts in it. Please think carefully about what you want to say. Ad hominem attacks on Swedish people in general, calling you fellow Starcraft fans idiots etc etc will be dealt with with harsher punishment from here on out. Keep it civil people.
Page 230: Here's some more stuff that'll get you banned! - Conspiracy theory mongering about MLG and GOM - Comparing people to Hitler - Posting useless one liners of arguments that have already been repeated ad nauseum. |

The MLG/GSL exchange was still in effect as far as I know ( 4 Koreans invited ), and by consideration, the Code S seed should still stand.
The key point is that they don't think he deserves it any more. I will agree with them on that. Sympathies to Naniwa on losing the Code S spot, but he sure did something that can't be overlooked easily.
If I was GOM i wouldnt feel the need to apologise to you because you didnt understand that naniwa didnt get seeded. I didnt have any problems understanding this because I read the media relevant at the time,
GOMTV does not have to explain itself to you or anyone else who didnt care to check their facts..

Naniwa never had a Code S spot.
Please, for the love of god, stop this thread! If he never had a code s spot, there was no need for an announcement to be made either via twitter or the stream of the blizzcup tonight that he was losing that spot.
If you want to argue stupid semantics and say he was never 'awarded' the spot from his Providence performance, then be my guest. But the reality was that GOM, in light of that performance, with or without the exchange program being in force, had assigned a slot to Naniwa.
And in a knee-jerk reaction they've removed him from that slot. Call it whatever you like, it is what it is.

All NaNiwa got was a denial of direct Code S spot; he can still participate in the Code A qualifiers if he wants to. And yet the evidence has shown us that there is no punishment for Koreans who actually shirk the rules, let alone someone who does nothing wrong and decides to probe rush. Please, don't just make things up. Thanks. Byun? CoCa? Rain? Choya? While Byun and CoCa are technically punished by their teams, GomTV would've stepped in anyway if the matters went unresolved.

Not to mention Idra forfeiting games, but apparently it's fine when Americans and Koreans do it, probably due to their partnership with MLG. Idra even put Zenio in the same group as MC and laughed about it afterwards. And he gets invited back into code S? Do you call that sportsmanship? Gom is a joke organization. I'm sure racism is a big part of their decisions in the last few days. On behalf of swedish people I apologize for this one, I hope for all our sake that he is still young so we can rectify the mistakes and make him a normal human being.
You don't have to apologize for me kid and I'm most likely older than 99% on this forum. I have to assume you think it's ok for Gom to use different standards depending on who they're dealing with then? As for the racial issue I've lived in SKorea and know what I'm talking about.

You don't get on their stage and then in the middle of it decide not to play by their rules because your feelings are hurt, and then get away with it scot-free (this isn't even that big of a punishment, its only a month, unless I'm mistaken).
Gom has to be sure that the decisions that they make for the sake of the fans (format) are adhered to by the players that take their stage, even when you get the shitty end of the stick.
We all have to sacrifice sometimes. Such is (adult) life.
Naniwa gets a free pass why? Because you like him? So, if a player more or less forfeits a game cuz it has absolutely no impact and because he is demoralized and a very emotional player you call it disrespectful, but if sm1 dances around another players booth after a loss and makes fun of him and humiliates him in public, you call it great entertainment? Thats just a cultural gap and different interpretations of actions, if you want to be fair about stuff like that, you'd have to very clearly define what "disrespectful" means, cuz what Nani did was in no way disrespectful towards anyone for me personally, but I get why Koreans are very upset about it if you take into account cultural differences and the way eSports is perceived in Korea.
I personally think ceremonies are distasteful, but throwing a game is disrespectful however you want to color it.

nani was and is such a dickhead, he deserves it ! he should be banned from code s and a for lifetime. being disrespectful at this level gets you fast in trouble in asia, sad he wasnt kicked out of the house.

No man. In Korea every game is played to the fullest. Even if you aren't "trying your hardest" "at least you tried." We just forgot that GOM gets to determine what amount of effort a player has give in a game that has seriously no implications at all.

Aww now I really want to see that Day[9] would have made it into an awesome spectacle. Can't believe people are taking this seriously anyway and to people putting words into the mouths of Koreans it is kind of disrespectful. I bet less than 0.001% of Koreans even care at all about that game.

Naniwa gets a free pass why? Because you like him? Thumbs up. Naniwa is one of those guys who doesn't take responsibility from his actions. Banned from EPS, no gg @ GSL, joke tournament @ MLG and there were others aswell. After all those indicidents one thing i would be thinking is that i can't fuck up again and do something stupid but no Naniwa doesn't think like this at all, he's still a child. True, someone had to do something about his behavior sooner or later.
