If you can punish someone for a Worker rush, then start punishing other players with cheese, in fact lets just make every player play the build order we want to see instead of what they want to do...<sarcasm>that will make things a ton more interesting!

And you have got to be kidding. I'm almost positive you're being intentionally dull. They didn't ban him for cheesing, they banned him for being an awful sport. If you think Naniwa's attitude doesn't have anything to do with it, you're frankly delusional.

That's not a fair comparison. When you cheese you're still playing to win, when you worker rush...

A pro does not drop games, for sure not in such an obvious way because it is not professional. I understand EVERY league that would not want such a player.

Because I dont. | ||

Ahh yes, because it's completely acceptable to use a 0% winning strategy unless ur a wood leaguer, and only use one hand and later on say that you threw the game because you didn't see the point in it. With a 1-11 record behind him, one could say that NaNiwa's participation on the Korean scene is pointless as well, yet he's still trying despite never making it past the first round. Oh well, guess it's one minute less of NaNiwa on the Korean scene we'll get to see. On the other hand, with all the times NaNiwa has lost compared to his ONE WIN, the argument could be made that he just didn't see the point in GSL either, seeing as ONE VICTORY is all he's ever achieved over there. One-minute man with one victory. How fitting...

Naniwa actually won hes Code S spot as prize and now its taken away from him, its not about wheter he acted wrong or not, its that GSL announced Code S spot for a player who wins (or comes 2nd) in MLG. What if GSL would have support MLG with their money (or what ever physical thing rather than Code S spot)? Would it be now taken away from a player? I see that question here. And please for the haters, the guy practises 10h a day 5-6 days a week, you want to say you have the motivation to continue? Did DRG had motivation to play? According to interview pre-blizzard cup Naniwa seemed really confident and ready, no wonder why that lack or motivation after those losses. Respect the player some, dont only hope he MUST respect you because you are the viewer or what ever.

If we are to even give ourselves the grace of calling anything an "e-sport", we cannot allow such unprofessional behavior. Keeping Naniwa in the GSL without any punishment IS "hurting esports." Much more than having your adblocker on TL, btw (which you shouldn't!). Imagine if an NFL team threw away all of their games after being guaranteed to NOT get into Playoffs? Can you imagine how the U.S. would react? There would be an outrage, the coach would be fired and the players would receive death threats from people. If anything, Nani is lucky the GSL didn't permanently ban him from their tournaments.

Look if someone enters the 100m race and then just idles along at a walking pace. Expect that person to be thrown out by the athletics committee for wasting everyone's time. Especially for abusing the position of being able to race in the first place, a situation many others would want and certainly not waste by "being in a mood". The Koreans value respect and sportsmanship very highly - I don't think anyone needs that reinforced. Maybe if GSL comes to the US or Europe we can let professional players get away with SCV rush/bad manner play (although I strongly doubt that either) GOM made the right decision and I respect them, I respect Nani for manning up to his mistake.

When Nani was still on dignitas, right after MLG Dallas they posted that behind the scenes where he basically said he'd take the trophy over $1,000,000 so to call him an "amateur prize money hunter" is ignorant bullshit misremembered quote Naniwa says the trophy is worth a million times more than the money at MLG Dallas Is GOM actually trying to use such a poorly contrived excuse of that amateur prize money hunter shit? Why the hell would he try hunting money from the GSL, a tournament which is notoriously difficult, when he could just play foreign tournaments? Chae is clearly being ignorant =.= arghhh

That's your prerogative, but they were punished nonetheless. Should GOM not live up to the standards set or try to set them? Because similar things have been done in the past it should automatically be okay to do the same thing in the future? You know he's being sponsored and thus paid to put his presence out there, and bring positive exposure to his team as well as the sponsors he's advertising for right? Each time one of those players enter a tournament they're not just representing themselves. Think this is the first time he's gotten suspended from a tournament? Think he's had to switch to so many teams, because he's such a fun guy to have around?
