He doesn't need to do it, and that's why he gets kicked out of GSL. Getting in Code A/S is a huge opportunity for all SC2 pros and doing this is just disrespecting not only fans who paid to watch E-Sport but also every other pro out there.
Sundance said it in an interview after the last MLG, in order for E-Sport to grow you need the players to attract an audience, and Naniwa is just ignoring this fact and is going to be replaced because of that.

I doubt Naniwa is an Asperger, I think he is "only" bad mannered to a degree that it hurts his own career.

If Naniwa is comparable to any other athlete, it's Graeme Obree. He never broke any rules, but the NCI made up new rules to prevent him from gaining a record. Firstly, his bike was banned, then his riding style was banned, he still raced anyway and still got the record. Maybe Naniwa can prove that, even after the "governing body" of eSports throws shit in his face, he can come back and show them he deserves the title of being in Code S.

Coca/byun thing was way worse. I didnt follow it very closele, but its true that neither of them was punished by GOM? Thats is......weird.

the people that support Nawiwa's behavior are the same idiots that support chad ochocinco the loud mouth nfl player. Good Job GSL. Much Respect

I think it was really unprofessional of gom to suddenly interpret this rule in this way. GSL is becoming a popularity contest with invites going and then being revoked.
The game should not have been played in the first place, and had he 4 gated things would have been fine. This is all about people online being mad at him, as I said, a popularity contest.

I don't think it is THAT disrespectful. Nobody has told me how this is worse than mule-dropping. If what Sundance says is true, then actually Naniwa has done a perfect job. Look at all the threads and posts and drama. Which game that was played at 100% has gotten this much attention recently?

I won't be buying GSL anymore. I was already hesitant last couple times anyway with invites which is NOT a merit based competition anymore but a invitational like all the others. This poor arbitrary and capricious decision and inviting two lessor players to replace S candidates with dozens of great players languish in Code B such as PuMa And HerO sealed the deal. I won't be buying until they return to a merit based comp again.

you guys should stop bitchn GomTV. they've done a ton of things for foreign players. you should start looking at the greater picture of naniwas actions and what it caused. What did his actions cause that is so terrible, or worse than what gom has done in lots of people's opinion
it was a televised game. so we're talking business here.
the gsl takes place in korea. you just have to value korean standards more. since the match-fixing scandal in broodwar, throwed games are a very sensitive topic in korea und the community. this will spread like the flu and is directly hurting the reputation of gom/gsl, their business product. harder to get sponsors in and it's already tough for them to compete against broodwar.

1. Yea, its a huge opportunity that he EARNED. 2. Implying that this whole thing isn't attracting an audience?

Does this mean we can kick a Korean out of MLG when they 11/11 proxy rax?

CoCa had to give up his Code S spot, and wasn't allowed to win back his Code S spot through Code A. Byun was banned from participating in tournaments by his team.
After that what did you want GOM to do?

GOM did the right thing. Throwing matches in any shape or form hurts sc2 so bad in korea. Yes, it was the fault of the tournament that the match didn't matter, but you still can't do what he did.

This statement from Mr.Chae shows how little he knows about Naniwa. If there is anything that we all learned about this guy is that he only cares about being a better pro gamer and does not care for prize money or fame.
When he was defeated by Huk at Homestory Cup III you could tell from his interview that he was super motivated to go to Korea and was extremely "pissed" because he had to play with foreign players. He is indeed the last person you can call an amateur prize money hunter.
Also, Mr.Chae fails to see he is applying double standards and this statement makes him look like an incredible amateur. I am absolutely sad to see this happening and I would never thought I would have to stop supporting GOM but these statements and actions are extremely unprofessional.

If naniwa loses his code s spot for probe rushing, every player who /dances in a game, manner mules or proxy nexus/hatchwhen they have won should lose the tournament spot they have earnd, can't just punish naniwa for doing something that wasnt disrespectful, but allow people to do bm things freely.

This pretty much. When Nani was still on dignitas, right after MLG Dallas they posted that behind the scenes where he basically said he'd take the trophy over $1,000,000 so to call him an "amateur prize money hunter" is ignorant bullshit

If they call Naniwa an prizemoney hunter? What is MVP then?
