I for one like guns AND flowers.
I have a Cherry Tree in the back yard. But like I said I own a Tanegashima and a Japanese Composite Bow and Several Kantanas
Now we're gonna have the make a "What knives and pointy objects do you own and plan to own" thread...
I have a Katana and a Greatsword back at home, I bought those mainly for decoration, though the greatsword was for a convention. Turns out they thought it was too sharp (as in not sharp at all, I even made sure the edges were super dull) and didn't let me take it in. Ruined everything, it did.

Only real gun I own is a Gauss rifle (aka Coilgun). Hand made with lots of disposable cameras. Can knock over a pop can with a BB from 2 feet If I ever get mugged, best bet would be to just shock the attacker with all 550 vdc.
I've always been fascinated by real guns. Miracles of engineering, especially (semi)automatics. But alas I will never own one, due to the almighty dollar and the fact that I have approximately 2342412341234 hobbies already.
And for all of you with the short-circuited brains that go straight from guns --> murder, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skeet_shooting One of the million ways to enjoy and appreciate these amazing devices and the skill/art to use them without killing your fellow man.

The first time I ever shot (I think I was 14 or 15 at the time, so nearly 4-5 years ago.) I shot a glock 40.
Never again.
After half a magazine (five rounds) I felt like my arm was being ripped off. Each time I shot my arm shot up in the air a LOT. So I let my dad shoot the other half of the magazine. Even he was uncomfortable after he shot it and he's been shooting since he was a child.
Strange, while I noticed it's a bit harder to shoot then my friends 9mm Beretta, I figured that was mainly because the 40 is a little bit bigger bullet. Honestly though I don't have a ton of experience with pistols, my friends 9mm Beretta Px4 Storm, my other friends Glock 10mm and Springfield 45, and my Glock 40 are about it... And the Glock was right in the middle of ease of use (for me anyway).
Awesome thread, I've always been crazy about owning a S&W 500 because of how insane it is. Sad people can't just stick to the original purpose of the thread and post more appropriate comments. Superior firepower in the right hands keeps the world spinning.

Feel free to post in the flower thread. I promise not to call you messed up. Unless your petunias this year give you a florection. Then I might call you messed up.
Man, you are seriously messed up for making a thread about things not designed for killing people.
Anyways, I plan on owning an M60, M82A1, and a nice 50 cal pistol... for home defense only.

I'm a pretty short guy (5' 7" now so even shorter back then) and was a bit of a weakling. For my first time shooting, it was just too much gun for me. Too lightweight and too powerful. That was my second gun that day, the other being a .38 revolver of some sort.

If you are really strapped for money a Mosin Nagant is only $120 or so dollars and has cheap ammo. I think getting even a single cheap gun and a bit of ammo should be a high priority.

I'd probably recommend an SKS over the mosin 7.62 is cheap and it won't dislocate his shoulder when fired.

No (well you can, but it's more like collector's vintage 1950ish automatic ak's. You can also get a permit, but that's near impossible if you aren't in law enforcement). There are semi-automatic ak's...
You cant get an automatic weapon as a civilian in Canada. Its illegal. Even semi-auto rifles are limited by law to a 5 round clip. Its specifically designed so people cant shoot each other.
Getting a handgun requires a firearms license, a course, a gun club membership and a handgun license (also a pain to be a member of a club because its pretty expensive).
I personally own S&W .40 Semi auto, silver =D (dont have a picture D: ). I use it at the range a few times a year, I was thinking of selling even though i love it, just because i dont want to pay the 20 dollar a month membership ><
Although a lot of people use the membership to get the handgun and just cancel it, even though its techinically against the law.
edit. Some automatic rifles from the second world war are legal if you have owned the weapon for over 30 years. But nothing new is available to anyone but gang members.

My favorite part is how he's obsessing over a joking comment like it insulted him. Maybe we should go to all the other threads about things we don't like and start insulting them, or taking all their jokes too seriously.
I think I'll change my "want to own" to a M-240b. If only because firing something like that is good times. That or if I could find an MG34 or 42...though I'm doubting that. I have a feeling though that those might be hard to come by, unless buying a replica or a non-firing version or some crap.
Man I wish I hadn't thought about my guns, more things for me to collect and find. WW2 Klepto. Except paying for it and not stealing, I dunno if there's a word for that. Legal Klepto. Haha.

I know a couple sites that sell MG-34's marstar.ca has them for about 4000$
Desert Eagle seems sexy, and I plan to buy, mainly because I played a lot of counter strike.
no offense, but this thread is SOOOO american :D
awesome thread anyway, since i liked cs 1.6 - to be honest a deagle sounds really cool! =)
And that's about all it's good for. It's the most over hyped piece of junk in existence if Arnold didn't use it in 90% of his movies and MTV knew anything they would never have put that pistol in anything.
