This is not a gun control debate! Please make a new thread if you want to talk about gun control. |

I have a M1 Garand rifle, and my grandfather's 12 gauge shotgun, haven't shot skeet or trap since he passed though

Alright, after reading the first few pages of this topic, I'm kinda shocked by how ignorant most of the comments are. Owning a gun no more makes you a serial killer than having breasts makes you a prostitute. I thought the TL community was smarter than the posters in the thread, but that might explain all the idiotic comments on the first few pages.
I used to own an AR-15, but I had to sell it. It was fun to fire, but jammed like crazy. If I ever do own one again, I'm definitely thinking Desert Eagle though.

I own a Benelli Supernova 12gauge, Beretta PX4 9mm, Sig 238 380, and a Remington R1 45cal.
The Sig is for conceal/carry and the rest are for fun.

That's kind of funny as I play guitar, golf for my college, and fish with my uncle. I also have gone to shooting ranges multiple times and I really like shows like Top Shot because the hand-eye required is ridiculous.
I don't get why you'd have 11 guns. There are posts of lunatics in the thread that I can focus on but it's not worth involving them. I just don't see how someone can buy 11 guns without being a professional and be surprised when they're judged harshly.

I do not own guns but I suppose some people might find them fun to use. I think they are dangerous, though.

why are lots of people getting banned for questioning this thread? is tl run by gun toting republicans? bill hicks made a very good point, england: no guns: 14 deaths, america:guns : 23,000. hmm.....
User was warned for this post

I have a crossman .177 cal. air rifle lol. Fun stuff but not nearly powerful enough.
I plan on getting a .22 someday and maybe moving up from there.
An AK-47 or a sniper rifle would be awesome to have.

Being off-topic and hostile is grounds for a ban in any other thread, why should this one be any different?

well the topic is guns, and not all those people were being hostile some were just questioning the celebration of gun culture

I don't have 11 guns, but I have several and here are my reasons:
1. Variation; different models, calibers, types 2. Being able to practice with a wider range of guns to broaden your shooting skills 3. Why not? Other than the monetary costs I don't really see why having more than some arbitrary limit of "reasonableness" (If it were up to many people the "reasonable limit" would either be none or one single shot .22 rifle, so frankly I don't really care) has any negative effect on anything other than my ability to store them safely.

I live in australia. You need like a super special license just to get a god damn paintball gun.... Such a weak country.

I've never been a gun person myself, but my grandpa was. When he died, he left his hunting rifle to me. There are pictures of me at age 4 pointing it at my Kermit the Frog doll. It's pretty hilarious to look back at.
A few years ago, my dad asked if I still wanted it. I said no, because I had it stored away and never really thought about it. I don't hunt. So, he asked me to give it to my uncle, because it would mean a lot to him. He's actually a hunter. So, I agreed and got the thing out of storage. It was actually hard to give up! It had some specialness about it, not only because my grandpa gave it specifically to me, but it also felt rare. Like, something not everyone around the globe could hold and understand. It's hard to explain... It made my uncle very happy, but I sort of regret giving it up.
So, I did have a rifle, although I have no idea what model

I looked through the bans quickly and saw only one person who was not being directly hostile. Another ban a few pages later was just for a poor post.
It seems like normal TL to me, although it also seems as if the moderation has been a little light the last few pages.

Now look at Mexico. Now look at Switzerland. It's wrong to assume correlations like that. Edit: BTW, there aren't no guns in England. There aren't even no illegal guns or no civilian legal guns.
