Hi guys,

I have been wanting to make a new username because I think "MacroKing" isn't very original, what do you think a person should pick their name on. This thread is not to help just me find a name but anyone who wants to. So, what is the criteria that you used or would use to pick a in game name for starcraft 2. I know in the past I used to make my video games based on my favourite sport, but for starcraft 2 I want something special.

Perhaps you should list things you like about SC or other facts about oneself. If you want a name related to SC, or something else.

Or you could just be asking for random cool names.

Dictionary method is best, open to a random page and pick a word you like.

Just make something original. See mine.

Or better, get something unoriginal and write it backwards. For instance, Tfarcrats would be really badass.

i came up with mine on the spot
when i make up names for play throughs i try to base it on inanimate objects or generic word with no value

I usually pick a word or concept I like, or the name of a musician/song from a band I like.

In this case, it's a sword from Ninja Gaiden. =P

Goto urban dictionary type in somthing random such LemonSpoon or somthing random, chances are it will have a dirty meaning!

hachidan has always been a name i used of many game but i had the same feelings you have. I wanted something catchy, original and has a greater meaning. So i just started of listing cool word and try to incorporate zerg into it since i was a zerg player. For example Epiphany is a cool sounding word and i wanted it to mean i am the epiphany of zerg players so i changed it to Zpiphany. Of course i did not stick with that because it just sounds weird lol. I came up with a much cooler name. CALaMity from calamity with has a zerg connotation. So i capitolize the calm to remind myself that i must stay calm while there is calamity or when i am bringing calamity. I shortly find out that calm was also sc bw pro zerg player by surprise so i have to say CALaMity will stick with me for awhile.

Then get on a Day9 Daily so he goes to extra efforts to pronounce your name oddly.

I stick to my belief that people with names like that have a broken shift key.

Just go over to Korea, qualify for Code A, then Code S, then win the Code S tournament and let the Korean commentators give you a nickname based on your playstyle.

Easiest way, imo.

Ways to call your self

1) A Variation of your last name(Make Tweaks to your last name).- The one i used
2) Dictionary- Can be random or a cool word
3) Korean name- Look around. First thing you see. Or some random Phrase ex: IntoTheRainbow
4) Im a nerd way- Use a fantasy name you use to call your self when you play pretend. ALONE
5) I dont care way- LOL this would be funny. Silly names.
6)Nickname your friends call you
7) I have no imagination- Copy the name of another Pro player or Starcraft Character

8) Imma pick a name that i think its cool and makes me sound dark and mysterious. I will then proceed to add obnoxious caps to it.
