This deserved a perm ban?

Only because there are different standards for first posts. Someone who introduces themself to a new webforum with an empty, slightly provokative one-line meme is someone to be dealt with with less compassion imo.
I don't consider this thread particularly a shrine, though. This is where people flock to so that they can prove to their insecure selves and to their fellow sheep how much of a big heart they have. It's like anybody with a birth defect lives solely to be the object of pity, and a tool for social advancement.
I'll finish the rest of that when I'm done, so you don't think you know what I'm saying if you start there. Watching a video about her was interesting, because it was just what I expected. A happy, cheerful girl who doesn't let problems tear her down and she tries to find a way to use whatever she has as a positive influence on people. I've found that a ton of people in situations like her are similar, they let their strengths overpower their weaknesses, the latter of which they are very aware of. So she conveys her experience of being bullied as support to other kids who deal with the same shit.
So, to finish my beginning statement.
I don't feel bad for her. I would if she was unhappy or wasn't cheerful, but since she smiles, is confident in herself despite her ailment, and brings happiness to others with her personality, then I can't feel bad for her because she really doesn't seem to feel bad for herself. No need to pity someone who needs none.
Oh yeah, for everyone who wants it in spoilers, grow some. Life isn't always pretty.
I have seen plenty of disfigured people before. Stuff like this shouldn't be censored because it would only create more misunderstanding as well as less sympathy.

I wouldn't even be surprised to see tubgirl. It's hard for pictures on the Internet to shock me anymore.

If you read the ban list, those two are of the same person.

No one should feel bad for how she likes if she is happy, so in part, I agree with your post. It's just how she has to live her life, constantly eating. Imagine all the activities that you have to stop doing just so you can live. Consider the fact that she may not be hungry at all, but must eat in order to continue to live.
Wow must eat every 15min :/ would not want to live like her and i wonder how she sleeps someone mentioned a tube so hopefully its not as cruel as it sounds but im intrested how she can be so happy etc
its like she already accepted the fact she has to live this life and chose to just live and be happy for the moment so i think it would be bad to feel sorry for her because i think she dont want us to feel sorry for her she probablly telling us hey i know im like this but im having fun and dont want you to feel sorry for me, maybe it sounds cruel but she sure is strong

Not everyone is as much of a manly man as you.
ONFUCKINGTOPIC: That's terrible. There's really nothing that can be done for her? I can't even find this shit on Wikipedia. Well, there's Progeria, I guess, but apparently people with that typically only live to 13 or so.
They can't just like.. hook her up to a tube that feeds her obscene amounts of whatever? Seems a bit hard to believe she actually eats every 15 minutes considering sleep etc.

I really don't think it would matter who you are and whether you had 1k posts or 1 those posts are completely necessary its not like she chooses to have whatever ails her. Atleast she is still happy its nice to see that people can live through their adversity with a positive outlook =]
Stop fighting and discuss the fucking story. She doesnt look normal, we've determined that... she looks no worse than an anorexic girl. You assholes shouldnt be mean. We all know you would have clicked the spoiler anyway. AND we all know you've seen worse.
Back on topic.. baby pic is epic! Glad this girl is happy.

I'm glad TL banned those fucking assholes who think ugly images should be spoilered. Respect the woman as a fellow human being.
When BoingBoing posted a pic of Chase No Face, Xeni caved to the internet jerks and hid the image. http://chasenoface.blogspot.com/ mod edit - not relevant to the thread.
I cant believe some of these posts. This isn't 4chan where people are non-stop assholes. TL is better than that.
But she does seem like she is happy. At least probably happier than every person who makes fun of her. Plus she can probably eat whatever she wants! Unlimited junk food maybe? Make light of a not so great situation.
Doctors didn't think she would have the ability to do anything, even think when she grew up. I'm happy that she's done so much with what she has and I hope she lives to enjoy old age. What happiness she has, she's earned.
With self reflection, it pains me to know that while I'm wise enough to recognize the greatness in her, I am still unable to ignore her appearance and its implications. I she one day finds someone out there who truly loves her. Mutual love is an experience that everyone should experience at some point. As much as anyone can pity her, empathize with her, and befriend her, they're easy for the common person to do while keeping their distance. It would take a much better man than I see past her illness to give her the happiness that she can't "earn".
