iNcontroL - moving to SoCal, one of the best personalities in Starcraft
Gretorp - also moving to SoCal, and another very personable Starcraft player
Daniel Negreanu - professional poker player, on the same poker team as ElkY, a former SCBW pro, and at least knows about Starcraft. Suggested to be in talks with iNcontroL and others in the professional Starcraft world about something big. Oh, and he's also a very personable guy and has had plenty of camera time, and is fairly well known in the US.
G4TV - offices located in Los Angeles, Recently sponsored, streamed, and did a few articles with the EG Master's Cup which was put on by iNcontroL's team, EG.
What do you get when you combine 3 great personalities, a professional SC2 scene that's getting larger and more popular all the time, and a TV network focused on Video Games? Well, my dear nerds, you have a Starcraft 2 (or eSports) TV show.
Oh, and Day9 lives in the area, too, but not sure if he would be involved with this
So, that's my theory. I think a big tournament series with PokerStars as a sponsor could be possible as well.
In addition to the Negreanu stuff, judging from comments from iNcontroL and SirScoots, there could also be an SC2 house in LA, as it doesn't sound like they're completely sold on a Korean EG house like they once were. They could very well do both, have small houses in Korea and LA as they've said they want to rotate players in Korea.
Don't forget, Day[9] and djWheat casted the EG tournament which G4 sponsored, so in this scenario I would hope that Day9 would also be involved

I think we're overlooking a big possibility
finals of the ascension tournament!

The son would probably get laughed at and get zero support. Also, it isn't that glamorous to be a known WoW/Starcraft player here in So Cal. I would be crucified if my class mates knew I spend my spare time playing Starcraft. There could be some money in it of course, but I'm not sure how successful it would be. It might be successful with the hardcore crowd, but what about the casual crowd? Yeah, you obviously think that now because it's never been tested. Maybe this announcement will help convert the more casual gamers or something of that nature, we don't know. I say we wait for the actual announcement before coming to conclusions. That could be a very expensive test.

I seriously LOVE iNcontroL and Gretorp together, GosuCoaching TV Premier League has been an absolute pleasure to watch. Hope they end up creating content in beautiful, sunny California

Yes! More E-sports for California!

Also, isn't HD and Husky in California?

Well it depends what group of friends you hang out with. You won't get much flak from the video game/chess/anime clubs. But you'll probably be made fun of by the other kids. You can also kiss your chances of finding a girl friend good bye unless she's in the previous clubs mentioned. Girls in American high schools aren't impressed if they know your K/D ratio is 5 or your APM is 200. That's just High School in the US.

I think the point is more like "Being a 'gamer' and being a 'legitimate human being' can actually go together."

Incontrol saying something "big" on Gosucoaching stream right now...
EDIT: Geoff you tease

Some news about something in February
|
Incontrol just now on the GosuCoaching coaches' corner says of the very big deal thing: "the hype that I am talking about now is going to be announced in February." But he's going to keep teasing everyone about it.

An announcement for an announcement in February. Stay tuned

Incontrol needs to hype this thread. Something like:
"Forces are stirring beneath society that you cannot even begin to fathom. A new age is coming."
|
I'm so desperate for this thread to turn into an insane deep analysis of everything iNcontroL has said over the last five years along with a list of everyone living in California, SC2 related or otherwise and topped off with some sort of ESPORTS mathematics.
