With the recent patch, chat channels have been implemented for Starcraft II. Nonetheless, creating "private" channels for public use are often times what is going to be done. This thread will help us organize channels for the Starcraft II community to use. I will list by server
Please list the name of the channel and what region it is used on.
Red means it is a scrimmage/observing channel.
Blue means it is a clan channel.
Green means it is a lounge/community channel for discussion.
And lastly, Black and Bold means it is a channel dedicated to a user, such as Tyler.

How *official* is this thread? Did you just decide it should be *official*, or does teamliquid endorse it?
Anyway, I think you might want to distinguish between the different servers (maybe in spoiler tags?).

Just make a random name up that noone would ever think off, and it's now secret and perfect :D
ESL btw on EU will be used by some admins and to advertise/give notice of cups/checkins/streams etc.

if you need to talk about secrets just tell your mates to create a channel with random name that's empty and you can do it there for the time being

I'd like to quote this post and especially the link. The thread starter said he ignored the other existant threads in order to create a more "organized" compilation of channels, yet his OP is far from being organized or informative. At least the channels could be sorted (clan, community, strategy etc) and the post could be formatted properly. The thread linked above even has information on the purpose of each of the channels and ongoing discussions regarding their use, which this one lacks.
Also, on the EU server, the channels proposed in the linked discussion are pretty active (TLGeneral, TLStrategy, TLkoth etc).

Usually for threads like these someone that is active or is planning to should be the OP. would be worthless if the OP gets banned or isn't active and such can't edit the OP.

Hopefully the thread starter is keeping this active, it would be nice for you to put down channels for specific leagues because I'm still having trouble finding 1v1s for Master Leaguers outside of ladder
My suggestion is to put a section for channels of different leagues for instance, channel names would be like
Master League
Diamond League
Platinum League
Gold League
Silver League
Bronze League
and if for whatever reason these channels are filled, it will go as follows
Master League 2
Diamond League 2
etc
etc
etc
anyway, these channels should be specifically for 1v1s and no loitering, come on people lets be productive. I would start my own thread on this topic however for some reason this thread : http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=183689 got closed, however I strongly disagree with the admin who closed it. if anyone else agrees with me, it would be nice to speak up. hopefully the thread starter can edit this in the main post. this is just my suggestion, I'm hoping to start up a new system where it's easy to find custom games that you are actually looking for. "LOOKING FOR 1V1 MASTER LEAGUE ANYONE?"
"I'm mid diamond, is that okay?"

Have you thought about adding a "Leagues/Tournament" section as well? Channel "SCL" is used for clan matches: www.scleague.net
I'm sure some other leagues might use their own channels for clan matches as well but not sure off the top of my head.

My suggestion (sorry if already exists) is to create obs channels where ONLY high level players (2500+) can easily find an opponent and are willing to let people watch a live high level game.

The oGs channel is no longer active, so I'm pretty sure they've changed to a channel which the public won't know.

Just going to ask here;
Has anyone found, or are interested, in creating " tier " practice channels. I know there's tlpickup (dead) and tlpractice (usually dead). These channels can be used to meet people at your skill level to practice games off ladder, even if bronze level players are playing one another, the simple pressure free experience will be a benefit.

At this point, if OP continues to be "away from life", I'd like to see this thread created anew, or perhaps a spin off version dedicated solely to finding equal level practice partners.
Also if anyone currently has any active ones, I'd very much appreciate a PM so I could participate ( Masters on ladder ).

Hey guys, a handful of friends and I created a channel looking for local players here in Toronto, Canada.
The chat channel is simply: Toronto
NA region.
The channel is both a community hangout and for scrimmages, but hopefully moreso for the latter.

I think it would be really awesome if a channel could be set up where people go and play team ladder matches. Then you could set up some really comical or ownage teams. Looking for Teams channel doesn't really cut it right now =/

An idea I just had for chat channels in generall:
Let´s create the following channels:
zvz
zvt
zvp
pvt
The logic behind it is quite simple;)
I started this yesterday, we already have 5-8 ppl using the zvz channel. The idea is so easy, i hope it will reach and be used on every server;)
I´d like to put emphazise on one aspect that´s important for me: zvp, vzt, pvt is for both races. Sharing informations from both sides of a mathup is just more valuable than just getting infos from one side;)

Just had the same issue. I can't find a channel for the life of me where people simply want to 1v1! NOWHERE. There needs to be a dedicated channel for like "1v1 bronze/silver" "1v1 gold/plat" "1v1 diamond" "1v1 master/gm"
Tried searching, was stoked at finding this topic, but alas, outdated. Where are people going?! Custom interface sucks, I miss bw just hosting, would just do "1v1 masters+ Z or T come". OH I MISS THAT.

Solution: let's just make one :/
the slash isn't allowed in the channel names...but otherwise..."1v1 Masters" works just fine...and the corresponding chat channel for the respective leagues below masters will work, too...
Just gotta get people to use them like they're supposed to be used: for finding games to play, rather than idling like skill-less hobos.

You could try Bronze Practice, plenty of high dias and some masters. No GM's though.
