Hey guys I've been starting to do abit of achievement farming lately and I've completed alot of achievements on the Hard Campaign and all of the Challenges. Post your achievement saves in this thread if you have any. I'll start and fill in the main posts with posts from this thread.
For example it means, if you get a Savegame from a Player who completed the Campaign in the Brutal mode and you use it, you completed it too? Or you need to play all missions on your own?

But this just works with the Singleplayer right? Otherwise would be too easy to get some Potraits :D Anyway its a good way to get some achivements if your too lazy to do it yourself.

Im not sure what you mean, if I upload a campaign save with a mission or an achievement on it you just have to load it up and do the last bit of the mission to get the achievement for the mission.

You can, try out my save if you don't believe me. If it's a mission save you have to atleast play the last bit of the mission, but it's possible to load up the last few seconds of a mission and you get it completed, as long as your logged in on your account while doing it. These are the two most difficult missions. If you are really struggling with a mission send me a PM. I have multiple saves of most of the campaign missions.
Don't forget that if the player who uploads the savegame already has the wanted achievement the moment he saves it (so that someone else who doesn't have the achievement can load it), it doesn't work. Because the loaded mission/campaign thinks it's already completed or something like that.
Please note that the saves uploaded to this thread are pre-1.1.3 patch, so if you're hoping to get the achievement from them you're pretty much wasting your time. There are some great videos in THIS THREAD to help you get some playthrough with the missions regarding the achieves you might want.
Please try to upload only 1.1.3 saves please as prior saves are null and void for achievements as people want them for. That being said, I'll have the first five missions with saves near the end posted by tonight.
has anyone got a save for the challenge mission "opening gambit" (gold ofc) i keep failing right at the end by only like 20-30 secs and i have given up befor i break my keyboard. lmao
looking for brutal "all in" save... i get to 85% then lose my banshees and the nydus take over anywho i would like to egt this 1 cuz its my last mission and is very hard (please dont post pre 1.1.3)
I'm definitely interested in the Utter Darkness Normal/Hard saves for the blaze of glory achieves. I always fall <100 kills short every time I've tried, and it's frustrating to keep playing through that mission.

What is the point of this? So you can get achievements and portraits that falsely claim you have done something that you have not?
How about you guys stop trying to inflate your e-peens and actually EARN the achievements you want. If you aren't skilled enough to earn them yourselves, then you don't deserve the portrait. Just being able to beat a game used to be a point of pride (Megaman anyone?) but now it's all about instant gratification. Why work hard for something when you can just cheat?

The Brutal Missions do not have to be completed on the same save in order to get the Kerrigan portrait. To check your progress in the Achievements tab, go to Liberty Campaign--> Story Mode --> Liberty Completionist: Brutal

it even took me a couple of tries to finish this after i saved it at this point.. but you can do it.. basically when the game loads, i lifted my two rax and factory and immediately try to land anywhere near the artifact to defend it because within about 10 seconds about 1 million nydus spawn up there..
crucial: at the same time i have the original 3 banhsee and 2 battlecruisers from the beginning. move them to the artifact too to take out nydus!
next: i have group of marines and 2 medivacs... use this group to take down the queen but make sure she is in range of all the tanks i have... try to catch her on the ramp!
like i said, it might take you a few tries but the artifact will survive..

Easy way is to do what you said by using the buildings to wall off and select all the tanks to kill the nydus worms and splash damage on units trying to kill it. Got it first try. xD

Hey thanks dude, but one concern...I thought when you did the highest difficulty it covered the lower ones too? Because it shows brutal complete but not hard? ideas?

You'll have to beat it on the lower difficulties. It's not hard as long as you aren't focusing on solely the hard achievements and such.

When I finish it shows the achievements lit up and everything but the mission doesn't check mark...oh darn....guess we'll have to wait for the patch...no no patch please!

yup same here. Cant get EOD, Ace High, Ghost of a chance or Opening Gambit Gold to work. The missions show victory but they dont show up on the Liberty Completionist Brutal and Opening Gambit shows the new Time but doesnt give achievements.

I have tried every brutal victory that has been posted. I had no brutal wins before this thread.
Ones that have been problems are: The Moebius Factor Ghost of a Chance Supernova Great Train Robery
The rest I have been able to get the Brutal victory checkmark for in the achievements completionist section.
Others that would be nice to have posted are: Echoes of the Future Liberation Day (Solely for completion sake, not that it is difficult to do on your own) The Outlaws (Same as above)
I believe that Zero hour was posted in the original post, but the wrong link was given. However, the link given below works fine. Just need to hold out for 5 minutes. Easily done. Goodjob. Qeh, you should check some of your links posted in the original post, as you use the same link twice for some.
Anything not listed in this, with the exception of challenges, has proven to work, and I have been able to get the victory checkmark using the saves in this thread.
Also, the "Aces High" save does not work, and I'm not sure why.
Finally, the last request I have would be for the "Hard Core" achievement on The Moebius Factor.

The problem with some of these saves seems to be that they are done too close to the ending of the mission. The ones that have the objective checkbox already greyed out when you open the save seems to not result in the victory status in the achievement. They need to be saved a couple seconds before... Not sure, but seems to be consistent.
The link given above for supernova seems to be useless as far as I can see. You are given a banshee with 80 health to finish off the artifact. I can not find a way of completing this given what is saved.

Here's Zero Hour It Is A Temp Fix Until Qeh Fixes The Link
I've tested using Qeh's save games and apparently, the achievement did not appear. Am i suppose to load them in Brutal and replay them in "Hard" mode to get all the achievements? Hope you guys could share some thoughts and experience.

Empathie is right, so far these saves don't work, can't figure why either. The objectives are not greyed out when the save is loaded, at least for me.

I would assume there are an additional 4 missions than listed on the achievement.
If anyone has a list of these, or any saves for them, that would be golden.

I've been working on this, trying to get the "And Speed Too" achievement, but I really have no idea how you're killing the coolant tower with the banshees provided. I've attempted avoiding detectors, but doesn't seem useful at all.

If I remember correctly, it's right at the banshee's last few shots. just don't move. Or, micro the banshee away and wait until energy is at around 80 and go for the final attacks.

The working "The great train Robbery" is from mlgbx on page 3, first post. Just grab the mercenaries availaible at the compound and steamroll the last train.
Yeah some savegames here are not working for some guys. For example, for me "Liberation Day", "The outlaws" + many others. Just need 13 more to get Kerrigan my luv <3

Liberation Day and The Outlaws are super-easy, just mass marines/medics off 2 raxes. It takes 30 mins max.
And I tried the ninja Zeratul thing for about an hour to complete Echoes, but I fail miserably at the last tendril every time, too many zergs =(
So just to sum up things:
A working save for Echoes of the Future, Ghost of a Chance, Supernova and The Moebius Factor are still missing in this awesome thread ^^ (+ Liberation Day and The Outlaws).

I have a Moebius Factor save... 2 buildings are stopped and bonus objective just killed.. You need to build alittle more forces and fly/drop at the last one before kerrigan gets there, There should be some reinforces on the nearby building roofs aswell.
i tried about 5-7 times without succes but i thought mayb one of you guys could finish it, and repost it here so the list of games are complete =)
Thank you VERY much! Now suddenly my friend has Brutal 10 and got 14/15 till next achievement! (he did the 6 first missions himself, but still only got 4/5 on that brutal achievement thing)
A question though: Why didn't he get Hard Completionist? He still miss MANY of the hard missions, despite the fact that his brutal is complete!

In Utter Darkness - 750 kill achivement on normal. I always get around 2200 just short of 2250:S Media Blitz - Blitzkrieg achivement on hard. Just over 20min...cant seem to cut it down to under 20.
Any one planning on doing any of the level specific achievements? Majority of the just have to be done on hard difficulty. Or doing the best of both worlds and doing the achievement and completing all the campaign on hard.
That and is anyone planning on doing the "challenges" I have Gold on all but Harbinger of Death and Psionic Assault
I dont think challenge saves work tried the opening gamit one and it just gave a time but no achievements
Edit: I think i know why it didnt work. as soon as you start the challenge the marines objective is checked off. maybe it needs to start without any objectives done.

Download each of the save files listed in this thread and place it in any of your SC Liberty campaign save folders. Log on to SCII and just load the save files and technically, the end mission will highlight each of the missions you completed in brutal difficulty under the achievements section.
Just a quick little thing, http://www.mediafire.com/?5miau3y3jjjml1l is the shatter the sky save, it will also give you the couch surfer achievment by clicking the news tab
Hello everyone. Just thought id make a little post thanking everyone to thier great contributions and efforts into making this possible. Big thanks to everyone who uploaded thier saves. Ive done the campgain on Normal before. But with my work and everything never got around to redo-ing it on Brutal. So thanks for that. 2 Things to possibly help people: Echo mission is not working on front page, however there is a great post on page 11/or/12 that has the thing completed. The Havens fall mission when you save it, make sure to change its name to something else because it will not show up in your saved games folder in SC2. ( took me about 15mins to figure this out lol) due to it having a " / " in its save file name.

No, you're simply loading a legit save file. Since (apparently) there is no account info stored inside the save file, Blizzard has no way of knowing if you are the original owner of said file or not.

You'll have to kill 2500 zerg units, but it's quite easy with the remaining forces. (I did 3000+) Keep building Gateways to block ramps. Keep warping Void Rays from the 4 stargates. The Mothership and some additional forces will come after a few mins.

i can confirm that this works and it gave me hard 10, 15 and brutal 15. if anyone can upload the brutal 20 and 25 then that'll be great!

apperantly savegames from older versions can just be loaded if the save in it state was made while in a lobby or in the campaignarchive. (for example a 2.000.000 credits savegame from 1.1.2 can be successfully loaded in 1.1.3 if it was saved while being on the hyperion) savegames made while in a mission won't work with newer versions...

Seems as if most of the hard level difficult/achievements are non-transferable, such as Aces-high for all in and several others requested. It's quite strange IMO.

hmm....neither slaves nor shaves would really make sense in the sc2 singleplayer part
anyway... in tried on my public account yesterday some of the saves, since i just missed the raidnight achievement and 2 missions on brutal - so right away, thx for uploading them
now i think the only achievements of the campaign which kinda suck for pretty many people are the brutal and hard 5/10/15/20/25 achievements i guess...
however, the brutal on 15(14)+ aswell as the hard 10(5)+ achievements are still bugged for me and the only ones remaining now... and today i pretty much tried every possibility to get them...started over and played manually without savegames the first 17 missions (brutal: still on 14 - hard: went from 4 to 5, after that no count), loaded savegames one by one on - as they appear in the archives (still 14 and 5), started the campaign new and loaded savegames how you would usually go through the missions when playing standard (still 14 and 5)...
am i missing anything? or does someone have a savegame pack where the saves are in the right order to get those achievements? not really urgend but would be cool to know how it exactly works since there are here aswell as in other forums just rumors (or what someone heard what might work or random thoughts...) or cases which are kinda familiar but not really the same...
I did what you all said! i downloaded all the "saved games" from the OP. Which is 29. I completed everyone and every went "Victory" BUT. I just got 20% achievements from only 26 completed missions, like i wrote before "i completed all 29" still it says 26 and Difficulty: Hard
When i browse the missions, most of them is completed in "Casual" but the last one "All in" on Brutal.
I never got Kerrigan Portrait just some other, 3 other by watching the news, buying, and some.
I got ONLY 20% of the achievements.
PS. When i loaded all the save files and just got the 26 completed and 20% achivement got. And i reloaded for example "Ghost of a Chance" cause it says i havent completed any difficulty on that one, it brings me back to "That point in the campaign" and it says when i quit campaign i only got 15 Compelted missions and on Hard. Some missions you have to complete on your own, like The Outlaws. It doesn't matter if it's show you like 15/26, for me it was the same, you just need to check, under achivements, campaign what missions your had done in the Brutal mode.

Read again! When i go back and do the "older" achievements/missions and "Quits" the campaign it will step back to like 15/29 ... 26/29 before... when i made it thru everyone thru these save files.

I played the whole campaign on Normal, with random upgrades I found cool at that moment. Then I replayed the missions to get the hard achievements. All where quite easy but I definitely can't beat the last missions with some dumb upgrades. I really don't want to redo the campaign for that :D

Download the save file for whatever mission you are having trouble with. You will have TONS of money to use on mercenaries and upgrades that are optimal for this particular mission. You can do this on every single mission on brutal. Good luck.
A few notes: Echoes of the Future doesn't complete for me, I think it was saved too late into the mission for it to count as completed once from loading the save. Also, The Great Train Robbery was saved one train too early.

just search for echoes of the future "speedrun" on youtube, it takes you 3-4min to complete it by yourself...

For some reason, I don't have Brutal 10. I have done all the brutal missions as well as brutal 15, 20 and 25 but I'm missing Brutal 10. I was hoping someone had a replay of a 10th brutal mission completed on a savegame.
is it possible that these achievement saves aren't working because the save is being made too closely to the end of the mission? Like for example if someone made an All-In Aces High save at like 97 or 98% maybe it would have a better chance of registering. Just a thought, because I've definitely gotten hard achievements from saves before, though that was back in patch 1.1 or something.

hi thanks for your hard work, but sadly it does not award the achievement for me after i completed the mission. im still at 15/15 for hard and brutal and this after completion of this mission, the achievements get reset to 1/25 for hard and brutal.
Hyst, 20/20 didn't work. Thanks for trying. Too bad, as I already completed the completionist achievement but didn't get the 20 or 25 brutal achievements. Hopefully Blizzard fixes this soon.
I also tried the 20/25 brutal savegame and got no achievement after completion of the mission (and display of "1/25" too), but when I finished the next level on brutal I got the achievement and "21/25"... :-) so it seems to work (just after completion of the following level)! THX!

I did want to comment on Hyst posts for his achievement they do infact work. Here is how you get it to work. And sorry I am a Step by Step person so if it bothers anyone I apologize.
Step 1: Load the first save game and play "Belly of the Beast" on Brutal difficulty. Step 2: When the mission is fully loaded quit the campaign (Go back to the login screen) Step 3: Load his "Belly of the Beast" save and complete the mission. Step 4: Select Play Again on the mission in the stats screen and play it on whatever difficulty you prefer. Me I selected Casual just cause of time. Step 5: Beat the mission again and viola! You have unlocked 25/25 Hard and 25/25 Brutal Achievement!
Good luck and if it doesn't work please respond I will do some more looking as it worked for me.

That's odd. I was stuck with 14/15 and when I loaded another save game to get the Kerrigan portrait, it brought me back to 0/15. So when I used Hyst's saves it bumped me up to 25/25 for both Hard and Brutal difficulties. I will do some looking.
Try this, with the current save, complete the last mission on Casual difficulty. That may make it work. If it doesn't I will do some more checking.
This whole process seems to be a lot of trial and error. I will try to figure out how to get it to work for you GalaticPenguin.
Hmm... For some reason the OP files don't work for me... I load them up, finish the missions, and then don't get the achievements... I've tried starting new campaigns etc. But it still doesn't work. A shame.

Try and make it so it says you have 1/X (X being whatever you have in the achievement so 5, 10, 15, 20, 25) and then follow my steps in my earlier post. I think that will get it to work. yes moody's first method worked for me, but it only got me to 24/25 upon completion of the steps. i was at 1/25 before
Hey Moody, it worked!! I played through All-In on Casual and it gave me 25/25 on hard and Brutal. All i am missing now is level specific achievements(majority of the ones on hard difficulty) and complete the campaign on hard difficulty. Which is kind of funny i have 25/25 hard mission achievement but not the one that gives you the portrait.
In fact the saves in the OP are played on campaign from another difficulty level (Casual, Normal, or Hard); Then the specific mission is replayed on brutal difficulty.
So the brutal achievement is in fact 0/25 when you load the save because it's a replayed mission from the archives where the campaign was set on another difficulty than brutal (Am I clear here ;D ?) then it becomes 1/25 for the mission you just finished with my saved campaign which is played on brutal difficulty.
So to get the 25/25 achievement you need a save where the whole campaign was started and played on brutal (like my saves).
And if I'm still right about the whole issue, once you have loaded this save, just go to the archives and replay any mission on any difficulty level, it should log the 25 hard missions and the 25 brutal misions done.

Glad to have helped! I know how frustrating this can be, I was sitting at my desk for about 3 hours last night trying to figure out how to get this thing to work. I'm glad it worked for you guys. Now everyone who uses these saves can now get the 25/25 Brutal and Hard 25/25.
In the next couple of days I will be working with one of my friends and his co-workers on doing "Liberty Completionist: Hard" I will try and get all the saves uploaded once we have completed them. We will also be doing all the mission achievements so all that we have left to do is "Terra-tron Terrorized! • Lost Viking: Bronze • Lost Viking: Silver • Lost Viking: Gold"
As it has been confirmed that you cannot use a save game for the "Lost Viking" game as it is a game within a game. Blizzard really didn't want us to get that achievement away for free.
I am glad you guys finally got it working! Now let's get more fellow people their Kerrigan Portrait and " Wings of Liberty: Brutal 25"

P.S. Thanks Hyst. When I first loaded your save and it didn't work and I started to play around with it and play the mission again on Casual it did the trick I knew I had to share that information with the people here at TeamLiquid.

Moody, i do get the challenge 25 brutal wins following your steps, but i dont get the kerrigan portrait. I believe the last 2 missions, don't work. Any idea why it isnt working?

And if I'm still right about the whole issue, once you have loaded this save, just go to the archives and replay any mission on any difficulty level, it should log the 25 hard missions and the 25 brutal misions done.

I'm guessing it's working since it's actually Moody's steps 4 and 5. Just play any mission on any difficulty.

usually this message just pops up if you have another version than the savegame is... like you got patched to 1.1.3 and the savegame was made at 1.1.2

You must be loading missions like Xaeulu stated that are from an earlier patch. Blizzard has not and apparently will not allow saves to be backwards compatible on Battle.net. My guess is to prevent this from happening yet there is no way unless the saves become account bound.
Xaelu: I was wondering, since you have completion of the campaign on "Hard" difficulty and have all the achievements, would you mind uploading the saves and posting them? That'd be awesome if you wouldn't mind I just need those saves and I will have all campaign completed except for "The Lost Viking" mini game which I will have to do on my own.

the only achievements i had before those savegames were the normal completionist, the viking gold with the terratron and the 2 goals for each mission which i played pretty randomly since the release...
i just got all the other achievements like raid night, the hard25/brutal25 the hard completionist/brutal completionist by loading the savegames from the OP and (thx for that again!) hyst's h25/b25 post with your instructions
sooo...i'll upload whatever you want or need but i really only have the savegames which can be found in this thread and my old 1.1.2 savegame of the normal completionist!
Not sure if you guys are aware but Blizzard is rolling out a Public Test Realm "PTR" in short (They've done this for World of Warcraft for as long as I can remember) So this means that Patch 1.2 is being tested as we speak. So if you haven't done any of these achievements yet your time is running out. I don't have an exact time when Patch 1.2 will hit but I can guarantee it will be on a Tuesday (Ghostcrawler anyone?).
Other then that these saves are still good, just putting that out there since there is no backwards compatibility for loading gave saves from a previous patch. If you have any questions toss me a PM or post here and I will still try my best to answer them.

First of all, i really appreciate the help. But it doesnt save the missions i load. When i load liberation day, and finish it on brutal, when i load another mission, complete it on brutal, liberation day isnt completed at brutal anymore according to the archives. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks=)
The only achievement you will get from the saves from the OP is the Liberty Completionist: Brutal with the Kerrigan Portrait as a reward. You should look under this achievement.
You shouldn't look at the archives because every save is from a different person/campaign.

We will most likely be doing it after the patch only because with the PTR out Blizzard doesn't give an ETA before the patch is live on all realms. To bad there isn't a website like MMO-Champion that posts information on when patches are going to hit. :| Sorry. I know lots of people want it.

There are some that won't work, no matter how many tries you give. Don't even bother with Liberation Day, you can complete it in less than 4 minutes just A-clicking the map. EOF is a different story though.

Anyways, I made secret brutalisk achievement and another "regular" brutalisk achievement. I don't exact position but near - close to it. You only need to release brutalisk, shoot 3 plasmas at him and 1 grenade then finish it with A.R.E.S..

It does give you the lower levels of difficult if u complete them the hard way. Using saves will only randomly complete the lower levels, but passing them yourself will give you all of them.

The one who posts every save file in their post! that gives u either achievements or kerrigan portrait! ill give u a kiss! BECAUSE ive tried all those savefiles and it says i havent completed campaign and everything, which is weird?
To get the Kerrigan portrait you have to load each save individually.
To see which ones you don't have yet go into Achievements >Story Mode and click on the achievement at the bottom. It will show you which missions you still need.
(Note: When you load someone else's save it will also load the position in the campaign that they were when they made the save. Don't be alarmed if you load a brutal save of one of the first missions and suddenly you don't have access to all the missions.)
If anyone could get a save game on hard with the Aces High achievement I would be so happy. I just can't seem to do it without using that thing more then once.

Does anyone have a savegame with a sizeable army during the third mar-sara mission (where you first board the hyperion) to kill the 4 hatches? Don't kill them, Just get a sizeable army and safe as soon as your about to engage and succeed. Somehow it never works for me.
Edit: Also the prophecy achievement where you have to kill (Maar, And free the preservers) within 20 minutes would be appriciated.
The "Echoes of the Future" and "Liberation Day" missions are bugged for me - it says I have 27/29 done, but I've done both of these missions on Brutal twice now, and it's not registering, so I can't get the Kerrigan avatar... help anyone? =/ I tried the saves in this thread, and those don't seem to work either for those two missions.

Pretty much all the saves are such that as soon as you load them, they drop you in the mission right before it completes, so you get the Brutal completion credit. Some require you actually move something from point A to point B right next to it.

Bugs no matter how simple they may seem aren't necessarily a simple fix, that could be the case here. And if it is a hard fix combined with the fact that I wouldn't really call it a high priority bug it isn't surprising that it's taking some time to fix.

Check your Brutal Completionist Achievement progress in the Story line section. That's what all these saves are about. There are some additional save files provided for certain other achievements, but it's mainly about the Kerrigan Portrait achievement.
This is an interesting idea. It rewards a player with achievements they didn't earn/deserve, removing most practical purposes. The portrait would seem meaningless, and you skip out on playing the campaign and potential learning.

The achievements are pretty low-skill to begin with.
For someone like me, who beat all of them on SEA, then transferred to NA, it's nice to not have to beat everything again.
I suppose loading these would ultimately give you 30 achievement points and the portrait. If you want the Wings of Liberty: Brutal 25 achievement for a complete 1590 campaign points, you'd have to play the campaign on your own anyway?
Or, does it work if you load them in the correct order?

Well this is a start I guess, I've just got back into StarCraft II and decided to go through Brutal to get the portrait and achievement hunt. I keep on forgetting to save when I'm about to win. I'll try to save when I win and upload the mission here.

I think it is supposed to give you the achievements for playing on brutal, but you need all of them. :>
I have started going through and playing them on brutal for this patch. I have the Mar Sara ones done tonight if anyone wants them. Only trying to get the main objective done and finish so the side objectives are not complete.

Honestly, from the looks of it, it looks like you need to do it yourself. Thankfully, PsyStracraft's brother, Zai, has done it on Brutal with the 750 extra kills Part 1: Part 2: so if you can follow his strat, guaranteed you'll get the 750 kills extra easily

The game is saved at around 99.7 percent, so when you load it you can sit back, relax and watch the game end quickly. You can also use the nova on the very last second for kicks if you feel like it. Of course if the save doesn't end up working I'm gonna be really embarrassed.
GL to anyone else aiming for their portraits. The campaign on brutal is really fun, and I suggest you give a shot at completing whatever mission hasn't been uploaded yet. They're not too hard.
Seriously though, that +750 is like the only achievement in the campaign I don't have yet. Guess I'll be up all night.

Its just for the "All Missions on Brutal" Achivement. So you don't have to play the mission. Just wait 30secs and get the Mission as "accomplished" Nice solution to avoid annoying missions

Could upload "Shatter the Sky" too. It's also on brutal + i killed the Leviathan. Only problem: It's not right before the Mission ends. You'll have to destroy the last plattform. You got enough units to do it with attack-button, I think. Should I upload it for you? Cost you about 5 minutes to play the mission to its end, with bonus.

I just beat all the missions on Brutal. All in only took me 3 loads lol, but I did it! Now to speed run it... Anyways I have some more save files for you guys.

All of the recent ones have worked for me except for the Gates of Hell save. Could anyone else get it to work? I could also use In Utter Darkness on Brutal as well as the Blaze of Glory achievement. Although I'm not sure if that can be received through saves. Thanks everyone for the uploads!

Great find! Still works as of today. Just save to campaign folder, load it up (suprised it didn't say version error like most old saves do), and buy upgrades. After you run out of money, load it again. You can use for all 5 achievements. Get all the upgrades and you unlock the Rory portrait.
I used it to get Starship and Dominion tech master which gives Master Mechanic which unlocks the portrait.
When I go through these saves, it shows up in the completionist achievement but not the wings of liberty: Brutal. Does this mean I have to complete it on my own to get that achievement?

With 1 shot 50 kill achievement on "Hard"
I'm pretty sure the 1 shot 50 kill achievement is one of those rare campaign achievements that you have to get on your own. The achievement "toast" pops up at the immediate moment you take the shot, not when you complete the mission.
What someone needs to do is just save a game before he takes a shot to get the achievement. So that the game can be loaded right a the part where a 50+ kill shot is the most feasible

what determines if a save file gives an achievement or not or if it completes the mission? some save files work and others don't and I really can't tell any difference between the saves
You have to look in your achievements.Click the achievement icon in the battle.net and then select Liberty Campaign->Story Mode->Mission Completionist Brutal and see if the loaded game gives you the achievement:if ít's highlightened it gives you, if not it doesn't give you.And for some achievements you can see them in the other categories of the Liberty Campaign achievements etc...hope i helped you...

Guys to get achievements like getting 50+ kills with 1 shot of Rainor's Sniper, YOU need to do it yourself. The shot that is, not the whole level. If you get a save that already contains it, it WONT work. When the shot is made, a function is enabled in the games' programming to give you the achievement.

Most of these saves are for Brutal only. You'll have to do the missions or find saved games that are saved as "normal,hard, etc"
This has been a great resource for me. But have anyone else experienced that that the storymode achievement get stuck? Ie, im stuck at 18/20 brutal missions, even though I have done more. (both legit by myself and also by these saves).
I heard somewhere you could "shake it loose" by playing some missions on normal mode, but that havent worked for me. Ideas, suggestions?

afaik, getting brutal missions completed by these saves do NOT add to your 25/25 brutal mission achievement. You need to get 25 missions on brutal completed all in ONE campaign session (or save).

For me it got fixed when the game patched a couple of months ago. Otherwise there's a thread in the blizzard forums where you can post screen shots of meta achievements that havn't been rewarded, even though all the achievements needed for it has. I would try that out if I were you.
Is there anything you guys need? I've been bored lately, so I might be able to contribute one last save to this lovely thread. ^_^

You are wrong. I started last week (19th) and completed all my brutal 29 achievements, unlocking Kerrigan portrait yesterday. All saves needed are here in this thread and the other 1.2 save thread.
i've posted three times now about how to do this, and this will be my last.
Save the games to your computer. Open them with SC2, finish mission. Hit Complete. Load up another saved game, complete it. At some point you will want to run a casual mission on ANY mission. After completion you will get the achievement (kerrigan, brutal). These brutal missions DO NOT count for Hard, Normal, etc.
Hope this helps clear the air. Like I said, I completed in a week from having nothing to start with. It's all right here in front of you. Go get it!

please please please. setting up the zero hour hard achievement. fort he life of me i can not destroy 4 hatcheries on hard.
i think if you set it up say like kill 2 or 3 hatcheries and save before taking out the 4th that should allow myself (or anyone else) to kill the last one (and get the achievement) and then just survive the rest of the mission. right?

There is a particular save-file that will award you the 25 brutal mission? Which one? Seeing as I have the completionist achievement on brutal, its a bit frustrating that im stuck at 18 on the brutal mission achievment.

You know what? I can do that. Right now. :D Should have the achievement posted on the new forum within the hour or two before I have to leave for school! I actually really liked doing the Zero Hour Brutal achievement, so I really have no problem replaying it on hard. Should be no problem at all.

Psionic Assault done almost to gold. 223 enemies killed out of 225. Just Psi storm the tanks and finish them off with the sentries. You can keep going after that but you only need 225 [url blocked]

hmm, must be because i've remade the mission while i had the achievement done , i'll try giving you a 2nd save which was saved while i didn't have the achievement.
Ok.. all you have to do is rush Tychus to the last base(its already cleared) and bring the 4-5 SCVs i have on route to meet up with him and just sit in the circle till its 100% .. please reply if it worked.

This worked, finish the mission then replay Liberation Day in brutal and I got like 15 achievements, all hard and brutal ones plus others from the history. Good work, thanks

and blitzkrieg too...it was close though. make sure you micro your scvs so they don't get taken out

i think there is no savegame for 'nice suit' since it's sometime on the ship and not in a actual mission...
I'm pretty sure this should work.. if i get the "Victory" save from the last mission before Tychus sais whatever he is supposed to say for the achievement i can just talk to the guy and get it.

Yeah, the file is the shroud level right? I tried that earlier, then it takes me back to the ship when the level is over. I go to the bridge, selected the first mission and beat it on brutal. It did not work for me though, then i tried it on hard. Same thing, no luck. I already have 25brutal and 25hard, i don't know if that has anything to do with it.
Also, thanks for trying to help and your continued help in the future.
TO_slide, this save doesn't work for me. I loaded it, finished the mission and then in the mission archive chose the first one (Brutal difficulty), completed it and it didn't work. Also I already Completed all the missions on brutal but I'd like the hard achievment too.

hi guys, today 15/02/2011 blizzard release a new patch. The saves dont work anymore so i guess we must upload all again.
Today finished the 3 first challenges on the game with gold rank the saves: Tactical command: tested on my second account and works - all achivements - gold - path of ascention : not tested, for the swarm : not tested

Hey guys, great work uploading all these :D Is there any way someone could upload a save for the challenge "Opening Gambit" for gold? I can get it done but usually right at about 3:50 and for gold time to beat is 4:00. Any help would be appreciated :D

Achievements and portraits are there for exactly the reason you said. If they tickle your fancy do them. If not then don't worry about it.

Thanks man I actually tested the save on my laptop while not even having a mouse on^^...it's not an autowin but will certainly be doable if I have something that I can actually play on;). Whish you good luck with the brutal thing would help you but since I have been playing Zerg for so long my Terran and Toss macro has become so horrible that I would never be able to do brutal on that mission;).

To get all the missions on brutal from saves is impossible right? It's the only thing I am still missing but I am just too lazy to do it;). Probably too bad too;).

Actually didnt work for me toshies... sometimes the achievements really work a bit strange. I actually got my 25 Hard very much later than the one that I did all missions on hard which doesnt make much sense to me;)
