I just had a game that completely BOILED my blood, and im one of the last people to nerd rage in a game but this truly pissed me off. 1v1 plat had this guy was beating him and he GGed so naturally i assumed hed leave so i said GG and stopped macroing had a drink, wiped my face and started chatting with him since he wasnt leaving next thing i know he macroed up an army and attacked me.. and my army was out of position and he took the game. has this happened to you guys?

I destroyed his main, he GGed 2. i stopped playing just relaxed started chatting 3. he then macroed up an army 4. he then eliminates me 5.he then goes to say GG doenst mean you win it means this is a good game, but we continue till the end.
This isn't the place to rant about games you were foolish enough to lose. Whenever someone says gg to me and starts chatting me up about the game, I don't reply until it's clear to me I have the game won. Sounds like you learned your lesson.
I always play until they leave the game and/or are too busy typing and then I macro up and A move their base just in case. Good habits make for less losses.
Yeah you really can't stop playing until they leave. Also, isn't it kind of weird that he was able to make another army after you destroyed his main? Sounds like the game really wasn't over then anyway.
Thanks man, i just couldnt believe it... it was such a close, great game and i couldnt believe i won and then this happened, i just felt so robbed. id expect something like this from copper-gold maybe but someone in platinum...maybe not. ::Smashes face in keyboard::
Yea dude. Don't rest until you see every last one of his buildings evaporate. Or if you are playing a Terran, you can do what I do when they refuse to leave: knock every one of his buildings into the red and spam /dance with all units selected as those bitches burn!
Well ya it was like He GGed.. and then realized he still had a chance and kept playing.. but you guys are right, next time full throttle till he leaves.. punk.. youfail.org was his name.
When my opponent GG's I still play my best as I don't trust they will actually quit. I have had people try to do it but you just learned a valuable lesson of not trying don't' do it again
Never trust people on the ladder. I make it a point to not say a word to them, no glhf, no gg, and no chatting. I'm not there to make friends, I'm there to destroy or get destroyed, leave and re-que. Ladder is a cess pool of internet anons treat it as such.
Always keep playing. Never stop attacking until he leaves. In war, there is no idle chit chat... I know its annoying and stuff, but this stuff happens. Don't let it happen again.

It's quite bm to do that imo, but as long as you don't know the guy you're playing you shouldn't stop playing until you are 100% sure that the game is over.
Mind games should not be executed via ingame chat. Especially if you're pretending to be good mannered and friendly and abuse it when your opponent reacts.
It's called offensive GG , sometimes used as a BM move or otherwise as in this case which is very slim used to make someone think they won that actually stops playing and loses
i gged after 6 lings went up my ramp cause i didnt build my 2nd depot wall in on time i had 0 marines and my add on for my rax was still building. i flirt with his zerglings with my scvs while secretly building a depot. Then he chased my marauder around around i did stand sc1 scv circle trick and held off the attack while both my depots were 50% life and my marauder at 8. i proceeded to barely be able to repair my depots and hold it off with my 8 hr marauder. i then went hellion harass into thor. hellion harass was great i pushed out after a few scans just to run into hidden mutas. thank you thors and i took out his natural. then i screwed up with bad timing attack but finally finished him with marauder tank thor hellion =)

I have never under stood why BW pro's do that because its a rule that when you GG you have to leave you can't just say gg and then keep playing its against the rules .

That is true. Even in proleague, after a GG when the match is 100% to an end the guys keep playing to the very "End Mission" screen. If you wanna discuss the game or talk over with the guy, just keep your army pillaging shit in his base and leave some building in the end.
hahahah, had it once in wc3, i had an expo running and faught of his attack, he asked me how to beat mass wyvern, cayse it was unbeatable for him huhhu lost the fight expo game over said gg imbalance etc ( me orc he ud ), i started to chat with him meanwhile still build some units but didnt move anything told him what to do etc, 2 min later 6 destroyers were splashing my burrows ( btw at wc3 having a running expo and a won fight is 99% win, unlike sc II ;P ) i was like ..."u fucking kidding me?" then he said what got right to try, what followed was a 15 min hit/run on my burrows and I lost after i started to chat with him to give him tips, i seriously snapped and insulted him quite a lot, I feel your anger. :D

exact same scenario i was complimenting him and talkin about the game. but ya wont happen again!
Need to scout to make sure he isn't pulling this kind of crap. If you've got him 100% beat like that just send out numerous SCVs/probes/overlords to make sure then chat. It takes like 5 seconds to do it, then you be sure he isn't hiding anything.
Anyone who was brought up on b.net public games knows that your opponent won't gg or chat except when trying to trick you. Unless you're on the very friendly Europe server, then about 2% of the time they're just being good mannered.
So I guess you just have to learn to not let your guard down like that again.

Had that happening to me in another RTS, didn't lose but almost lost a won game. Promised to myself that would never happen again. When they GG and start chatting I'm always thinking to myself: '' shut up and leave already".

Well, technically, if you were playing him in a kespa-sanctioned game, you would have won. Just take that into account and pretend you got a win instead.
I never stop playing until my opponent has left the game for that reason exactly. I learned that lesson back in the early days of SC1.
I actually see Youfail.org post a lot of the official beta forums. Huge troll and general moron. Not surprised he would do something like that to be honest.
