[R] What does this 10 pool mean?

I am new to starcraft and have watched some videos and read some threads. I always hear "He is making a 10 pool." I also see 12 rax or 13 gas. But I don't know what the 12 or 13 means. I know it means it is when he is making the rax or pool but that's all I know.
If someone could answer this that would be a great help.

The number refers the the supply the building is built at. It can be seen in the top right corner.

10, 12 and 13 are the supply at which the player builds those structures, which also indicates the time in the game that they get those structures, since you gradually build up supply over time.

The number refers to the supply count the player is at at the time. So 12 rax means the Terran player currently has 12 supply worth of units when they begin making their Barracks.

You should really use the search function prior to asking what amounts to a basic question.

However, the 10 refers to the amount of supply the player is at. 10 pool means at 10 supply he builds a pool. 12 rax means at 12 supply he builds the barracks. It's based around population rather than timing because these things can vary slightly and it's easier to eyeball the supply in game.

thats the amount of supply the player has. supply is determined by the amount of units you have. workers count as one supply so usually in the early game the number refers to how many workers you have as well.

The number is the amount of supply/population/psi you are at currently. Your supply is shown in the top right-hand corner of the screen, next to your minerals and gas. If you build a 10 Pool, then you build your Spawning pool once you have 10 drones, for example.

This format is the standard notation for build orders.

The point of these numbers is to provide people with a build order to follow

(Probe 8, Probe 9, Pylon 9) etc..

People can come up with their own interesting build orders this way.

Last year around this time I was new to starcraft. I started watching Klazart's videos and I had the same issue with understanding the lingo. I just kept watching VODs until I figured it out. I don't condone my method at all...
