haahahahah
this isnot a trol in canada its true there's like 2-3 black families in a neighberhood
I wouldn't say that about all of canada In some areas, there is a significant black population, such as in certain parts of Toronto, but yes in lots of parts of Canada there aren't a lot of black families.

I don't believe this is true. People use racial insults within their own community to unify the common struggle that they have to go through. I guess you could somewhat compare it to the term "nerd". It can be used to insult people, but then people who are called nerds seem to unify under this term
The struggle that black people have to go through I think is still something which is a relevant topic. People are quick to believe that the age of racism is over, but we should realize that all these horrendous racist things that we hear about didn't happen that long ago.
Did you know that Quincy Jones (Michael Jackson's producer) had to struggle to get Michael Jackson's Thriller to be played on MTV? because he was black
Chris Rock even mentions in his stand up how in his neighborhood, the only black neighbors are really famous black people like Mary J Blidge and other black celebrites, whereas his next door neighbour is a white dentist
While I mostly agree with the rest of your post, I disagree with this point in most situations. I think that's what the word was used for 10 years ago, it's not really like that anymore though. Modern day rap has sold out for the most part and it is not longer used to unite their community. Just listen to the music of famous rappers nowadays. It's so fucking mainstream and terrible that it's almost impossible to believe. If it's not egotistical assholes that can't stop talking about how awesome they are (Kanye West), then it's about supermanning their ho's (I don't think I need to tell you who this is).
Do you remember when Black Eyed Peas actually produced good rap? Probably not, because they weren't big until they sold out, picked up an annoying white chick, and started making songs like "My humps" and "I Gotta Feeling". Listening to Joints and Jams, that song is so good and funky and that is a song that their community would be proud of... not My Humps

Though there are a lot of retards using nigger for no reason in their songs, there are still a lot of artists which do use it for significant reasons. One example is Nas' untitled album which he wanted to call Nigger but he wasn't allowed to.
Also about Kanye West, he really is a great rapper. Some of his older songs are really great rap songs in my opinion
For example:
talks about family matters
black history and struggle
materialism:
religion:
determination:
I agree with you though that his newer stuff is not very good
I hate niggers, I don't hate blacks. I don't have anything wrong with black people in general, it's just the stupid minority who always tend to stereotype the other innocent blacks, the niggers, as I call them. The ones who dress up like they're MC Hammer from the 70s, the guys who wear bling-bling all over as if it's their "thang," the ones who find it cool to call other blacks "niggers" as well, even if it's a social bonding type of situation.

everything anyone has said in this thread a stand up comedian has said better

People get fired at my job for the N word, but you can yell fuck as loud as you want, you just can't do it twice if someone asks you not to. So, I think treating it like another cuss word would be a grave mistake. It's like bringing a gun to a thumb wrestling match.
Also, I know all sorts of people think that they take the hateful meaning out of it by saying it, but they are wrong. It will never become a word that is acceptable.

I would have to agree that if you call a black person a stupid nigger compared to a stupid faggot, there is a big difference. I feel this all the time, if someone uses a non-racial insult compared to a racial insult at me.

i just hate the people who just categorize blacks as all the same... i don't care how other blacks act really...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigger_(2002_book) Borrowed from a friend, in conclusion, he notes that the word is only meaningful as so much we put worth into it, cultural and personal significance, and should not be as taboo as it really is.
First of all, there is a big difference between saying nigger, calling someone a nigger, and really calling someone a nigger. Its no different then saying, fucking retard, calling someone a fucking retard, and really calling them a fucking retard. (Except for the obvious difference of insulting race rather than intelligence). One thing to note is they are both insulting, and neither should be acceptable as commonplace material for conversation.
Second of all, "gangster rap" music in general is single-handedly responsible for introducing the term into mainstream culture, just like it is single-handedly responsible for introducing numerous black stereotypes into mainstream culture, and further encouraging the stupid behavior which created the stereotypes in the first place. The mere idea that its socially acceptable to call other black people a derogatory racial slur is beyond stupid. Do you see <insert non-black race> going around calling each other <insert racial slur other than nigger> on a regular basis? Or in the mainstream media? NO.
Note that I refer to it as "Gangster Rap". I am referring to rap that is negative, egocentric, and encourages violence, promiscuous sexual activity and bigotry in general. Real Rap, which IMO nearly died with the growing popularity of "artists" like Dr. Dre, consists of artists like Run DMC, The Sugar Hill Gang, Eric B. and Rakim, a Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul etc. I guess the whole "gangster rap" thing started with Public Enemy, but even they were actually good. I'm not sure when rap turned from interesting or enjoyable lyrical rhythms to talking about fucking bitches and shooting niggers, but I wish it hadn't, because I find it more and more difficult to even listen to it. (Now that I think about it it was probably Tupac's fault, but at least he had a shred of talent). At least there are a couple artists who still put out decent shit. All I have been able to enjoy in the last few years is K-os, some of Outkasts more recent songs (the aquemini album was shit), and some rap coming out of Britain.
I am honestly glad I'm not black so I don't have to be ashamed of this behavior. My only black friend cannot handle people like 50 cent, and Kanye west, he calls them niggers, and associates the word nigger with dumb black people. If a black person comes up to him and says "sup my nigger" or something of the sort, he will literally tell them to fuck off. Maybe that makes him racist (lol...), but honestly, If the trailer park boys were both as popular as Kanye west and took themselves as seriously, hell I would be ashamed of being white. As far as I am concerned, anyone who supports any of this recent SHIT that has been produced by these "gangster rappers" is helping to further black stereotypes, violence, promiscuity and bigotry. Oh and if you buy Kanye's CD's you might as well be a fan of mental retardation.

Do you live in salt lake city?
Race is still a huge deal in michigan (the south of the north) holy god. Some parts of the state I don't even like to think that the nword exists and other parts are like clan meetings ugh. That being said I don't say it derogatory (or often) but there are some terrible race issues tied with it.
While Michigan has a ton of white bread cities/towns Id have a hard time accepting someone calling it the south of the north while Indiana is in the midwest. They had a clan member for governor in the 50's....

Theres nothing wrong with promiscuity and ATCQ had plenty of songs about niggas and promiscuity.
Sn3t, Sorrow, and Wr3k pretty much summed up my thoughts on this exactly. I just don't understand the rest of you people who worry so much about offending people. Don't say nigger at work unless you want to get fired.
That is about all I have to add to what they said.
