Seriously guys it wasn't 9-pool, it was more like 12-pool.
Backho fan since 080416. Favourite terran: Mind. Favourite Zerg: Jaedong.

We will see during the next season if new players like Perfectman and other could be at the same level than Jaedong, BackHo, etc!

Its funny how you guys are talking about FantaSy cheeses. Its not a cheese that won him the game, it was a really good decision in that map. Jaedong went 9 pool speed which is not really clever given that you call wall off lingtight on medusa but what really costs him the game was losing the overlord and that fantasy didnt show his marines he made from the 8 rax.

Had he shown the Marines from the first barracks Jaedong would have known there are 2 rax and he could have reduced the marine count but when he knew it, he already lost an overlord and it was too late. So please dont say it was a simple cheese, because it was not.

Is it so obvious yes? Because it seems like people are not getting it. 9 pool speed was the exact counter and he lost, and everyone cries "cheese, cheese"! So if this game and the reason he lost was obvious to you, you are at least C rank on iccup :[!

12pool speed is a better counter imo
and he didn't even go 9pool speed - it was 9pool lair, arguably the worst build he could have done against cheese

The worst would've been 12 hatch (lol)

Although OZ lost I'm incredibly proud of the team's performance today, especially with BackHo, Killer, and Lomo. You can't put all the blame on Jaedong...the team slumped during day 1 when the more favorable bracket and if it wasn't for Jaedong, OZ wouldn't be in the grand finals in the first place. Here's to an amazing effort from OZ and the show their "less-favored" put on for the crowd and I hope OZ players excel and gain more recognition in the future. BTW, Jaedong's still got the MSL and his opportunity to take his revenge on Fantasy in the OSL

Congrats to SKT1 for their championship but I'm forever an OZ fan.

Yup T.T! Even if Fantasy went for a mech build it would not be too good :/! Btw, go online @ msn

Indeed!!

Jaedong was also setting himself up to effectively "cheese" fantasy with his super fast mutas but hey, he got counter cheesed

Do you think SKT came with the mindset of stomping all over Oz and saying "IN YO FASE BEETCH"?. I definitely think so. Fantasy cheesed twice, Bisu cheesed once. SKT is cheese nation after today. They made a statement and they were true to their word.

Jaedong got sniped TWICE by brilliance and his own greedy folly (12 hatch outsider/against hyuk)
And SKT says "in your face"

I respect the gameplay. Fantasy sniping the overlord was such a killing blow. Sunkens didn't come up fast enough. Fantasy played brilliantly again.

He did not go 9pool speed. He got Lair first and his speed finished when his nat was already lost.

Agreed it was a very good strategy by fantasy and all this "cheese" talk is nonsense.

honestly no, but if anything this finals shows that the "one-dimensional strategy" almost succeeded (i.e. everything was in place to hang on jaedong)

Well, after the first huge frustration is gone, I've to congratulate SKT and admit that they played an outstanding proleague season.

Still I'm very proud of OZ. They came back when nobody believed in them and showed that they are not a one-man team. Something everybody thought they are, well, except we few OZ fans around here. Who still thinks OZ is a one-man team hasn't seen the the 4-1 vs CJ and the comeback today. With the newcomers Killer and PerfectMan, with lomo showing he's not dead yet (not to mention Backho) I'm totally looking forward to the next season.

This was an awesome proleague season, even so it didn't ended as it should (in my opinion).
hopefully jaedong puts his frustation in even more epic and outstanding games.

If only Jaedong change to other team like CJ perhaps, he can discuss his strategy with good Zerg like Savior and Effort.

But in Oz...

I feel so bad for Jaedong as a person, I really admire his heart and dedication. However, I'm absolutely ecstatic to see Oz coach's one-dimensional strategy fail.

What else can you do as Oz's coach though? I mean he literally has no other options with how his team is. There's no way that he or anyone in his position would risk sending out someone like Hiya or Backho with the shape they are in to win a finals ace match, when you have someone playing so much above them like Jaedong on your team.

i think mostly we feel cheated out of another epic game like the first day JD vs fantasy... or pretty much any of the JD vs fantasy games... look through tlpd sometime, whenever these guys meet it's epic... except the grand final.

was an annoyingly clever cheese though!
