Hiya starting his factory. Jaehoon and Hiya both scouting, they will see each other soon. I was mistaken when I mentioned the second pylon, that was a second gateway.
Jaehoon kills his neutral sunk and a scouting SCV. Jaehoon puts down a nexus at his third, robotics facility warping in. HIYA GETTING 2 RAX AND AN ACADEMY!
Wow, what a great timing attack! Hiya timed so perfectly, just before the reaver got out. He scouted the double nexus perfectly, and decided to do a push just before Jaehoon could start gaining any econ advantage.
Don't get so excited with the biomech build. Jaehoon totally fucked up with choosing to do a shitty 2 gate goon push opening which did no damage. Whichever early timed push Hiya chose to do with his fast expo would kill Jaehoon just as easily
Imo not sending Sea/Light out now is a poor choice. They have a nice big row of terran maps coming, it doesn't make sense not to utilize their terran aces while they have a good chance.
Oh wait they prefer to wait till they are about to lose before they do that.

Because he obviously scouted the cross positions before he put down the second gate, right? If he did, then nvm, but I remember that he didn't. So he more got unlucky.

if pvt ends after 2 gate that does little damage no one would ever go 2 gate
Hiya getting a rax, Saint getting pool and gas. 2 hatch build of some kind. Hiya sending out another SCV to scout Saint, hiya has 1 rine out, making a CC at his nat.
Hiya is acting like he's afraid of a zergling allin, he has SCV's by his ramp, and all his rines are on the ramp. Hiya getting scanners, first hydras out for saint.
Hiya is ahead, but I really hope he scouts 3:00 soon. Saint has 3 lurkers and a small force of zerglings outside hiya's main, 2 lurkers moving around to the side.
Hiya could be supply capped if this keeps up, lurkers whaling on another supply depot. Hiya tries to kill some lurkers with marines, but it doesn't really work out, and he loses a bunch. Hiya has a wraith!
Hiya moves out of his natural, killing some lurkers and lings. Hiya leaving 2 tanks back home to defend. Hiya scans 3:00 base, sees saint's expo. Wraith harass is deflected.
Unless Saint can wipe out this force of Hiya's, it looks like hiya's in good shape to win. Saint needs to delay for defilers, and I don't know if he has enough time.
Saint losing lurkers to tanks hiya is at saint's natural, lurker fank comes in from behind, Kills the tanks, but hiya gets marines into saint's natural mineral line.
Saint cleans up hiya's force, he has a defiler mound completed. Hiya is macroing on 6 rax at the moment, and has a new army moving out. I think hiya is still ahead right now.
On March 08 2009 13:48 De4ngus wrote: Aww, IMO Hiya should have just taken out the pool during that attack instead of running around and getting owned.
Saint gg's. His initial lurker attack looked promising, but his burrow placement on those lurks absolutely sucked. From there, his only real hope for a victory relied on going super duper fast defilers - and even that would have been a real long shot - but he elected to just sort of hang around and do jack for another 10 minutes.
Looks like I may not be seeing an MBC victory tonight. T_T
i think saint played really sick considering the handicap he had from the beginning he also had the game won with that run by, god knows why he separated lurks all over the place
Saint's flank was also really crappy. Instead of sending both sides to sandwich, he sent them one after another. The second one he had like 4 lurkers out of range also. -_-
Well, at least they sent out Sea. I have faith in you, Sea! That's the only thing keeping me pumped for the next game though - all the other TvT's (granted, only a couple) I've seen on Chupung have been pathetic.

reminded me of savior fbh on rush hour =(
Yes! That flank was especially painful for its similarity to the maestro's darker days.
i think he had half of his flank morphing when hiya pushed, thats why he couldnt attack simultaneously.. also hiya had all the chances to win with that push but he didnt execute properly

it doesnt end the game, but it puts the protoss behind if he cant do any damage. So protoss will often cut dragoons, whore probes and grab expansions to catch back up economically

Sea clears out minefield near his nat and moves to take it. Hiya doing likewise on his end. Sea tries to come from behind and harass hiya, but runs at the sight of a tank.

Yeah the 3 gate goon timing attack, which is nothing new, in fact it is about old as MuchMuch, is just a terrible strategy. You have to make it a complete secret. So if you get scouted = gg. Also, with terran, if they get vultures, you need to keep some goons back. But you need all the goons for the timing push. So then again, gg.
Sea moving to take the middle low ground, hiya looking to harass with vults from behind. Sea sees it with his vults and moves to engage, but is fighting uphill and has to retreat.
4 wraiths out for hiya. Sea with goliaths just coming off the line. Hiya uses the wraiths to secure the middle, and I think he picked off a tank. Sea's gols come in and run off the wraiths. Sea manages to maintain a tank line on the low ground middle, but Hiya moves in on his high ground side.
Sea trying to take bottom right, but there's a mine there. Sets up a couple tanks + vults to defend on the high ground, and runs off hiya's vults. Hiya's top left expansion is already up and running.
Wow, sea has just fallen in form like no other. He actually used to be a StarLeague regular. Now he is that guy who everyone thinks will do well, but just ends up disappointing.
Both Hiya and Light have terrible TvT records. Terrible meaning under 50% win-rate. Hiya's is worse in fact (but better now thanks to his win over Gum Bo Sung).
Rofl hiya brought over his rax and is bunker rushing as well. Light forces the bunk to cancel and picks off the rines. Finally has a vult out and chases hiya off.
So much for defending the first attack. But Gols are really good against vults, so Light might have a chance here. I don't know how much of an advantage 14 CC gets you.
Nice micro from light picks off the vults. Hiya sieges his tanks, and Light pulls scvs again to defend. Destroys the small offensive with gols + tanks, but loses the scvs he pulled.
Light tries an offensive at Hiya's natural, and looks to be pretty successful. Seems to have a foothold. Hiya gets in a pair of vults at light's nat and picks off a couple more scvs.
All: 188-128 (59.49%) | Last 10 (old -> recent): W L L W L L W L L L | View Games vT: 76-59 (56.30%) | Last 10 (old -> recent): W L L L W W W W L W | View Games vZ: 49-36 (57.65%) | Last 10 (old -> recent): L W W W W L L W L L | View Games vP: 63-33 (65.63%) | Last 10 (old -> recent): L L W W L L W W L L | View Games
Light moves out to take a third, but the way is blocked by mine. Hiya sees the army out of position and moves to siege light's nat again. Light gets back in time to prevent any real shenanigans going on. Light with a starport, but I don't see any action.
Light running his third at 9 dual expansion, with troops defending. Hiya's third at 5 min only, with small scv saturation. Vults in Hiya's main, picking off scvs!
Tank line setting back up outside Light's nat. Hiya's tanks get absolutely owned. Hiya making a fourth cc at his third, but Light is in control down there so it'll probably be dormant awhile. Wraiths find the third and are owning up the scvs there. Tank line setting up around 5 expo ramp.
I should add that I've really enjoyed your little comments in the results, chava, and I agree with your sentiments. Although, you have to admit that that last game was pretty awesome ... as far as TvT's go.
Neither of the last two maps favor JD, but it IS Medusa. Orthodox TvP won't work here, I feel that dropship play is really strong on this map like HiyA vs Stork.
Replay shows that when Hiya attacked 6 when Light had 3 tanks there that he took damage from mines. Subsequently, he was easily pushed back (along with losing 4 tanks) because they were damaged and had no vision.

Jaedong's unworthy opponent (who's really ugly btw) is making a supply in a location to wall off his natural, clearly a strategy he leaned from better players. The Tyrant is making a hatchery at his natural, confident in his brutal macro.
For those of you not in the know. Jaedong is thre greatest player ever. He won GOM, and then beat the guy who won the other GOM, which makes him the GOM champion. He also uses queens, which he invented. Not only is he a great SC player that never loses, his rave dancing is sick too.
Light, the brilliant tactician, knows the inferior zerg opponent's thoughts and keeps said opponent from making a third hatchery until he deems it fit.
On March 08 2009 15:13 CDRdude wrote: The great n.Die_Jaedong is making an additional hatchery at his mineral only, to further his ends for complete destruction of his enemy
Maybe to hide queens nest? He did that against fantasy.
On March 08 2009 15:15 CDRdude wrote: A spire is placed, soon we will be witness to the greatest mutalisk harass Starcraft has ever known.
omug jaedongs muta harass is like the greatest ever ... he can micro 4 groups of 12 mutalisks simultaneously and build 3-5 hatcheries at the same time.
Light, all-knowing that is he, scans directly on top of the cowering infestor's tech choice. He has no fear, even though he hasn't a single turret yet and mutas are on the way.
The poor , inefficient zerg user finds his ugly mutalisks unwelcome at Light's base. The amazing (and handsome) terran commander repeatedly forces them to retreat ... though he sometimes allows his men to sacrifice themselves to bait Jaedong along.
The cowardly zerg expands to the top left main and morphs lurkers. The brave, intrepid Light looks to be aiming for a third expansion, and keeps the zerg army in check with a mere handful of troops.
The temples are down, and units are free to flood into his opponents ridge, with only a few puny bunkers to destroy before gaining total dominance over the high ground. But it's a trick, jaedong attacks the front of the natural, showing his brilliance yet again.
Showing his true colors (read: yellow) the infestor breaks down the backdoor to Light's base. But the commander knowingly placed such a backdoor so he could more effectively destroy the dumb cerebrate's forces. He deflects a pathetic assault attempt. To show just how superior he is in tactics, he allows the dumb zerg to pick off a science vessel, just so he won't gg yet.
The bastion of chivalry and all that's right in the world Light tries to break down the zerg's backdoor to spare the lives of many innocent zerg, but the cerebrate sends them into the meat grinder regardless. Having cleaned up the force, Light returns home to mourn.
Once again the infestor shows his yellow belly by bringing in defilers to the game - clearly he has no sense of fair play.
The Legend Killer has overlords across the map, scouting anywhere his opponent could hope to go. He engages the opponents army, which is only saved by defensive matrix.

I remember once that Jaedong's lurkers shot heat seeking spikes
I remember that. They exploded on impact and 20 broodlings came out. I also understand that ensnare only costs his queen 30 energy, which is less than half the original mana cost.
Once again Light attempts to end this war quickly with little bloodshed, but Jaedong will have nothing of the sort, wantonly spilling the blood of his own soldiers and hurling it at the noble terran warriors. Light knows this disgusting display must be put to an end, and returns home to set up a new plan.
An exquisitely placed plague drains the health from more of light's army. With utterly brilliant multitasking and awareness, the Tyrant blocks a drop with ease.

Continuing to string this poor newbie along, Light throws away yet more of his own soldiers in feigned harass attempts. The coward once more uses his dastardly hack device, and Light realizes that it's fruitless to lower himself to play with such an ill mannered and obviously evil (and ugly!) child. He politely excuses himself and strides away with his dignity intact. Which is more than one can say for his opponent.

Light got thrashed around like a dog's chew toy thanks to some absolutely crazy muta harass by JD. That was pretty sick. At least if I had to watch Oz win, I got to see JD put on a clinic.
Dear god. I mean, I play 3 hat muta and think "no matter how much damage I do T still gets a huge ball and rolls me" Then jaedong does huge amounts of damage and it literally a 20 second timing window from death if he doesn't suicide his entire army.

Jaedong's Infested Terrans never die, they just keep doing 500 explosive damage until JD takes mercy and burrows it, which he can do even if he hasn't researched it yet - like a Lurker.

Pioneer makes a comment about light's chance of taking down jaedong.
Littlechava makes a short obnoxious statement which, far from proving pioneer wrong (as pioneer didn't say anything that could be proven WRONG) was obviously meant to antagonize Pioneer.

Was I also a "...painfully unfunny ... imitator" when I LR'ed the previous matches? Was there some major issue with the Live Reports of the other people who were posting in this thread as well? Is there some specific reason why you chose to only point out a negative and try to insult two people who were describing the action (albeit in a way you deem unfit) while completely ignoring the efforts of others throughout the length of the thread to keep people informed of what was going on?
It seems to me that if you honestly depend on LRs, you would go out of your way to try to be courteous to those who take the time and put in the effort to actually type up what they're seeing on the screen - which, I might add, requires them to look away, possibly missing some of the action they have no doubt tuned in just to watch - to try to help you out. It would seem to me that you might take the opportunity at the end of a thread to say thank you, and to perhaps add a little constructive criticism if you felt it necessary, not to try to be bm and insulting to two people who were joking around on one game.
Looking back, I'd say there was enough information in that live report for that game to keep folks up to date, regardless. If you feel differently, well then I'm sorry. Not that I was writing in that style, because it was all in good fun for me, but that you didn't enjoy it. Can't please everybody all the time.

Yes, I bow to the feet of the guys who produce real LRs. Who says I'm not grateful to them? Of course I am. Don't put words in my mouth. I singled you two out, not every single LR out there. But this biased thing is really grating (This is the first time I've seen you do it). Why do it? It's not clever. It's not funny (Okay, maybe to some).
But MOST important of all, it messes up the flow of the game for those of us who depend on the LR. I'll give you an example. When I was following the JD vs stork game CRdude and Aesop were doing the exact same thing. When I read that Jaedong has lost a lot of his units for nothing with this tidbit immediately following: CDRdudes "Stork manages a brief advantage, but jaedong is going to come back easily from this." What am I to think? That maybe JD might pull off something afterall, maybe he's sniping a nexus at the very moment or preparing a drop? It screws up the flow of the game for me. Gives me false hope at times. Why do you build me up buttercup?
For me, it's just like when people spam GG in a LR, before any player has even typed it, except far more frustrating. When I'm frantically F5ing the page, I don't want to read one thing that gives me a glimmer of hope that so and so might be winning only to be disappointed the next second.
This is why I'm so frustrated with this kind of "live reporting". It isn't live reporting most of the time because it doesn't add much to anything at all. I would prefer an all caps one even to this, if it contained useful, accurate information.
Eh, who the hell "Depends" on a LR? As stated above you should only be grateful that you get atleast something out of someone who can stream it live. If you are one of those that cant stream it live, you will eventually DL the vod or watch it on youtube, and if you will do that based on the LRs you read, the problem leys with you, not the people who LR. There will always be people that makes LRs that you prefer above others, but that doesnt mean it's the same for everyone. Newsflash: Taste differs.
Simply put: You have the choice to read and intepret the way you want, and if a LRer is adding something in the lines of boasting their player, then you might wanna look at their icon and see what team they usually cheer for and perhaps take it with a grain of salt.
You're ungrateful and take things for granted. I think you should start depend less on the LRs and take the comments with grains of salt, and then get your own idea from the games when you watch them. No point in winding yourself up over nothing imo.

This. It's really annoying to read LR's to find out if the games are exciting or worth watching with all this biased stuff. There was no excitement, couldn't get a picture of what was going on or who was ahead when and so on. This is a horrible way to LR imo.
Or you can watch the games yourself. I'm pretty sure anyone with an Internet connection can use the ustream link with very little lag - my Internet was going at some ridiculous 25kbps the other day and I could still use it.
There were people LRing normally anyways. Even when I'm not watching I can still tell what's really going on by reading the unbiased one-liner LRs. Let's not complain about things being done for you for free.
I find that the biased live reporting adds a decent amount of humor to the report. Usually there are always 2-3 others doing standard reports, so your still getting your cold hard facts. The biased ones are just for a nice laugh as you read.
if you don't like them, just ignore those posts and focus on those doing standard live reporting.
I like the biased reports too, but they are much more difficult to understand so neutral reports are really really appreciated. Thanks all for the LR's! <3
