Yeah, cross positions makes Reach's strategy choice even more baffling. Then again, I think that close positions might actually be better for PvT on Neo Harmony just because then your expansions, which are harder to defend, are way the hell across the map (as opposed to relatively close to the Terran main in the case of cross positions).

I think the point was to delay/prevent Mind's expansion, and Mind would have been totally sieged/turreted up at his nat if Reach had waited any longer. Of course, Reach still probably would have fared better attacking into a protected nat than he did trying to break Mind at his ramp. I'm not really sure there was any way this strategy could possibly work, lol.
