Faster range means huge early game micro advantage which in turn means ramp contain if gate numbers are equal. That means that JangBi has to 2 gate, which he did, which in turn means that Bisu can get away with 1 gate pressure into exp into mass gate. That small build order advantage can be extrapolated out as far as Bisu's much faster expo. Both players knew this, JangBi going mass goon and trying to break the exp before it had any chance to repay Bisu's investment in it. But Bisu's excellent micro to defend it won the game. In short, the opening builds gave Bisu an economic advantage which could only be negated if JangBi outmicroed Bisu at a critical time. He couldn't. Edit: But that doesn't mean luck was involved. Bisu proxied Destination in the semi finals. JangBi was always going to make a zealot to stay safe against any potential cheese and one lone zealot is no threat to a fast core build. Bisu exploited what JangBi knew about him. Bisu's excellent micro wasn't what saved him against Jangbi's attack at his natural. Jangbi had already his own natural being built when he pushed so there wasn't much unit difference. And cancelling the Nexus and going for an all-in push would have been far too late at that point when Jangbi found out Bisu's quick expansion because Jangbi's expansion was halfway done. Edit: The main mistake on Jangbi's part that game would have been backing away from the bridges, allowing Bisu to cross over and catch Jangbi's dragoons exposed in front of his zealots. But there was too much of a unit count difference that better positioning probably wouldn't have made a difference.

Bisu's reavers die and the battle is a forgone conclusion. Not so much metagame there really. Both players were playing very standard and very solid. They've never played before and were trying to get the measure of each other I guess. It was very even until a small micro mistake on Bisu's part cost him the game.

Well now we have the third match...and that could be more exciting since it will make someone closer to winning a third game and winning that trophy
