Or instead of looking at statistics of a year ago, you can look at how BeSt's observer moves away one second before the opponent's observer arrives.
Minimal effort.

Best's PvP was equal to Stork's back in the last Bo3 they met. The SKT protoss's PvP has grown even stronger since then, to absolutely heinous levels. So no, I don't see Stork taking him down no matter what Stork does. 3:1 Best.

i'll say best 3-2 in a tight series reminiscent of the bisu/stork msl. plasma will be stork's monty hall, and he'll win on some weird two robo build or something, but best's mechanics will just be too much in the other games.

What will Storks practise be like, seeing as he has tomorow and last week to face ForGG. Decided between PVP and PVT. Best on the other hand all 24-7 PVP.

To say the least, if Stork all kills SKT1 I will be angry. More than a little angry, too.

Sweet write up man, that last image is really cool and I love the all kill attempts image as well. Heres my take on the matches.

Best is seriously untouchable in Protoss vs Protoss right now, hes after oovs famous TvZ streak with a vengeance. Considering the level of play right now and the stagnant creativity the fact hat Best has maintained a nearly 20 game winning streak (in the most fickle of matchups, imo) is really amazing. He has also done so among some of the best Protoss has to offer. I would give him a 99% chance to win this match easily, and a 1% chance to win it by a close margin. Hes gonna win.

Stork, oh stork, storky storky stork. I hate you. Ever since the GSI finals I have been watching this kid, expecting him to win at least one title in the next year but as of yet he has failed. Like Yellow this kid dreams about winning a title only to wake up with a big bowl of "silver" for breakfast. I have little to no faith in him especially when it comes to a matchup which has alot of pressure built up. Even though this isn't the finals Stork knows that if he defeats Best he has a very good chance of winning his first OSL title, not to mention he would break one of the best streaks ever. Add in the fact that he got totally mauled by Flash in his last two finals experiences and this kid is gonna choke before he hits the stage.

The most important thing to remember in this matchup is how truly unpredictable Protoss vs Protoss really is. To put it simply your build order determines a win or loss at the iccup level, and though it does the same on the professional level the real game starts when you know your opponent and the maps. One of these two is going to do a better job predicting how the other is going to act on a certain map, in a given scenario or on that given day. This is where one of them will win, and that is why Best will win this. He has defeated every Protoss he has faced lately by using the map and player to his advantage when considering his BO in that match, now hes up against the choke toss, a player with a big history which is easily read.

Protoss vs Protoss can also be won by the harder path, micro. Right now these two are practically on par with micro, Best may have a bit of an advantage but it isnt considerable enough to call the match on. Stork has always had "enough" micro, which in this case will suffice as Best will not be gambling everything on an all in if he plays as I expect. When these two face off with reavers it is going to be epic, but I think that Best just has the better mechanics and that will carry him to the win.

So how can Stork maybe, just maybe, win this? Mind games. If he looks at the last OSL finals, which he should if he hasn't, then he will see how bad Best handles the unexpected. July completely raped a much better player by using his extensive finals experience to his advantage, he 6 pooled Best and won the series. Now Stork may have to do the same, as Best is so far on top of his righteous PvP streak that being knocked off even once might be too much for him. Stork will have to mentally break Best before he can defeat him on a level playing field. But knowing Stork and how little he appreciates cheese he will most likely attempt to take Best Straight up.

awesome take spiral.

Best has the best macro, bar none, as well as the longest win streak in pvp (16 wins straight, 18-2 in the last 20 pvp). The last time he lost in pvp was back in the Bacchus OSL in Feb...against stork. He clearly dominates the match up like no other player has in recent times.

Stork on the other hand, was the other recent master of this match up. He's only 11-9 in his last 20 pvp's, and he has shown solid, but not immortal play. However, currently, by ELO stork is higher (Stork 2271, Best 2254), which indicates that Stork has been playing better in his other matchups than Best.

With all that being said, it's going to come down to how much practice both of them have been putting in (a ton) as well as how good their prepared builds are going to be (stork has been more innovative historically, best just rolls over people with punishment for anyone who makes a mistake).

Personally, I liquibetted Best, although I wouldn't be surprised at all if stork took it. Stork is probably mentally solid (he has a ton more experience) and will end up not being rattled at all by any cheese that Best would attempt to pull off. However, if stork makes any mistake, even in his cheese, Best will be there to take advantage of it.

I'm staying up until 2:30 am local (time zone is pacific) to watch this series. School? who needs school when you have an awsome series to keep track of.

I love the poster from the op by the way. Light side/dark side

And if stork loses to fantasy...well, royal road for fantasy, and then stork beats yellow for the lifetime number of second places (silver mouse?). Stork would still have less third places than yellow though (yellow's got 3)

Great points by everyone.

I'd like to add that Best plays on SKT1, so has the best possible practice partner to face Stork: Bisu. While Bisu did lose a Bo3 against Stork just recently in the MSL, I would say that Bisu knows Stork's game inside and out from their long history of matches.

In addition, Bisu is a top quality Protoss progamer who is the best possible imitation of Stork's mechanics, from reaver and dragoon micro to macro.

Stork doesn't have a comparable practice partner. He does live with Jangbi on Samsung Khan, but Jangbi's speciality (psi storm) doesn't quite fit Best's.

Edge: Best.

Are you even more retarded? Do you even realize that the last time BeSt played Stork was 8 freaking months ago? If you even took the time you would know that BeSt has improved drastically during this time and has gone undefeated in PvP ever since.

Plus, you hating on BeSt fanboys is so hypocritical considering it seems like you're simply taking the other extreme.

I'm a little confused at people bringing up training partners and things like that. Both teams have coaches and talented players, right? So how can one person prepare better than another when they're both so famous? The scouting on both players should be easy to do and extensive. Maybe a coaching staff is better than another, I guess.

IMO Stork's play has been insanely good in the last month or so. It may not be specialized like Best's PvP but I think Stork, right now, would be the most likely Protoss to break the streak.
Cheese is good for you!
