He may be more "creative" than the majority of Protoss on the scene right now, but thats because mechanical Protoss wins more than a creative Toss these days, Stork is definitely a macro monster before hes a dreamer.

Why would you compare Stork to nal_ra in the first place? Many of "creative" Protoss strategies have been done, and the game has evolved a lot since ra's times. Stork is a solid management based player before anything. Of course "mechanical Protoss" wins more than the "creative Protoss." Isn't that the case for every race? Stork is confident in his mechanics and game, there's no reason for him to be cute and risk losing. He still does, however, often choose to do cool strategies.

I really wouldnt be worrying about a steak at this point. Completely true, but I prefer ridiculous fanboyism to reality. My "reality" prediction is BeSt 3-1.

Losing to Kal when he had a significant advantage, barely clinching vs bisu and backho, its not the same domineering position stork has been known for in PvP. Best has otherwise played near perfect PvPs as of late, and if stork manages to make a fraction of an error in any of his games, best will defer that to his advantage. That game with Jangbi is a perfect example, and if stork wants to win here, he's going to have to come in with something wholly refreshed. Unless Best has under slept severely, I do not see him losing this series, he's got a better pair of nerves than stork, arguably.

Stork is confident in his mechanics and game, there's no reason for him to be cute and risk losing. He still does, however, often choose to do cool strategies. If you read my post before you would see that I was referring to two different schools of Protoss. Creative and Mechanical, Stork clearly belongs in the mechanical group as Nal_Ra lands in the Creative. You could say that Stork is by far one of the most mechanically sound Protoss ever to play the game, but you couldnt say he is creative like that. He is a straight up player, one who will take calculated risks only if they are sure to benefit him. Comparing him to Ra is like comparing Flash to Boxer, Flash is the mechanical genius of today as Boxer is the dreaming Terran of yesterday. Even now though Boxer, Fantasy, Bisu, Savior, July and a whole myriad of players have changed the game through their creative builds, or style. Of course a mechanical player wins more for every race, but I was hardly trying to make such broad statements in this case. I am discussing this particular matchup between Best and Stork, where mechanics arent enough to win. Stork will most likely still rely on his mechanics to win him the game while Best will use his mechanics and his environment. Stork is not a versatile player compared to best and I just dont think he can do something against the mechanics of Best. Im not saying he never uses odd builds or interesting ones, every player does that and withthe way your generalizing I understand where that comes from. But if you compare Stork to Best, Bisu and lets say Much? For the top 3 Protoss right now would you really call him the most creative of the four, I would call him the least of the four. I know he does cool strategies but he isnt an overall balls out kind of player, and he isnt versatile. I have seen the kid hang on to a sinking ship of shit before. Edit: Oh and Nal_Ra quit playing SC like 2 mnths ago, and he was still competitive into 2007 in individual leagues and a big part of the KTF PL team. Im sure you know all this though.
