I hope Best learns from this - take initiative in your builds. I'll concede that Stork was the more imaginative of the two today. On a completely unrelated note, I've always felt that 3/4 gate rushes are extremely underrated. They're cheap, easy wins (not to say that Stork didn't deserve to win that game) that result because the other player expects something to happen.

Stork on the other hand, felt the need to mix up his play and it really payed off. Had both decided to play straight up the winner might be a completely different result. The rush has to be perfectly timed, and is still a huge gamble. Remember that game BeSt vs Rock? Rock mistimed it by like 5 seconds and cost him the game. Stork said he practiced the build over and over until he literally perfected it. Maybe SKT1 Protoss players need to come up with something else..

OneOther, I was actually going to name you in the 2nd paragraph but I'm like, eh, he isn't going to read it. =p I'll go take watch the BeSt/Rock game. Maybe the timing window for that push is a lot smaller than I think it actually is. Edit: Oh, I remember what I was thinking while I was watching Stork's games. I think the manner pylon delayed BeSt's tech and forced him to build zeals, IIRC, forcing the timing window to be a little bigger. The other thing is that BeSt went 2 gate expo -> reaver in the Stork game, while in the Rock game he went straight up and down 2 gate reaver, which makes it a lot easier to fend off the 4 gate rush. I actually think that the timing window was blown open by the manner pylons and the subsequent zeal harass, actually. But what really made the timing work was the expo. Manner pylons must be effective for something because I've seen a lot more progamers do them of the late, especially coupled with zeal harass.
