For example, in the OSL finals Best might have been super surprised by July's 5pool, but when Sea[Shield] was asked about it on TLAttack, he said that most of the MBC guys who were around when July was on MBC were not really surprised by the move so much. Being previous teammates, they were familiar with the mind games that July would play. Also think back to the Iris vs Savior semifinals in Shinhan3. Everyone thought that Savior would demolish Iris as he had been doing to every other Terran. But Iris, being Savior's teammate, had experience playing with Savior plenty of times before and made the series unbelievably close because he had additional knowledge that helped him better prepare for the match that only a teammate or close friend would be able to do. In the situation between two players who both know each other's play styles well and have played so many games together, you can never count out the underdog. predictability among teammates is much different and can be much more accurate, even for player who seem more unpredicable than others. That being said, I'm ready to watch Jaedong roll over fOrGG. Excellent point, and I fully agree that being teammates adds a whole new dynamic to the matches. The road does go both ways however, and fOrGG can be read as easily as any other, especially by Jaedong who seems to be his equal at preparing strong builds for bo3/5 series that take advantage of his opponents weaknesses (that 4 pool vs Hwasin, improvised or not, was an absolute perfect read/counter of the way Hwasin had been playing so far in that series with delayed barracks for eco advantage) Btw - I can only pray your comparison to Shinhan 3 sAviOr vs Iris is correct. Seeing a series that evokes the skill, game closeness, and nailbiting TvZ action between two teamates that was shown there could make Jaedong vs fOrGG the highlight of the year. *edit* Also can you move this to the Tourney section? It was incorrectly created in Broodwar. On July 24 2008 15:31 IntoTheWow wrote: Awesome op atrioc! Thanks!

Right now his macromanagement is probably unequaled and his gamesense has really improved. The real question is now as to if Forgg will lift his game to the heights necessary to make this interesting. Because Jaedong will, and I personally feel if Forgg lifts his game again and keeps a clear head about it all on these maps, he will win. After all - and let's be perfectly honest about this, Forgg's entire existance is defined by always having more units than the other guy. Combine that with someone who probably knows Jaedong as no other Terran does, and Forgg is posed to take this. With that in mind, this may well go 3:2 either way. However, if Jaedong wins I think a score of 3:1 is more likely.

Jaedong's strong gamesense and versatility in ZvT are the things Forgg is best positioned out of any of the consistent Terrans atm to counter (because of the fact they are in the same team). Jaedong has had his comeback wins and his triumphs and beat Hwasin - but this time I suspect it will be different. Forgg seems to be a lot more calculating than Hwasin, because where Hwasin tripped and fell (reading difficult opponents), Forgg has put in the effort, the study and the determination - even improving his previously imprecise and simply dire TvT to where it is now. Right now his macromanagement is probably unequaled and his gamesense has really improved. Sure, he beat flash, but they were really build order wins as opposed to hard fought advantages leading to victory. And this teammate thing goes both ways, it's not like forGG has an advantage over Jaedong more than JD has one over forGG. I have to say I'd be surprised if forGG took a legitimate win in this series
