INTRO
The Brood War Clan League (BWCL) is the oldest and still active foreign clan league. For a long time the organizers were able to fill 15 divisions with 10 clans in each; its reputation was based on the many top clans competing in it, often leading to a waiting list with more than 50 clans queued up. Nowadays we have a more modest 5 divisions and the MMR locked little league.
PREVIEW
This is a preview, we are always opened to suggestions and constructive criticism and we encourage anyone to do so.
Let's register for a new season!! Please confirm your participation and registration as soon as possible thank you. There is no deadline yet but expect it to start by the end of February.
In the meantime, do read the winners interview for both div-A and the LL, and we also encourage you to watch our friends at CPL 9.
WHAT'S NEW
A new mappool will be announced shortly, as was the case for last season, 2v2 and 1v1 will be separate, and for this season we will work with Shield Battery to have the same 2v2 maps!
We are still looking for admins and casters, so if you are interested reply here, or PM me.
WHEN
- Season 58 is expected to start late February or early March, the exact date will be decided soon.
As always the default time is 19:00 CET (1 PM Eastern).
FORMAT
- Double round robin (each clan meet twice) - In order to keep the playoff schedule orderly, each division will consist of 6 clans, the remaining free slots in the lowest division are to be assigned on a first come, first serve basis, priority is given to clans that played season 56. Div-E may be larger or smaller than 6 clans depending on registrations.
- 4x 1v1 + 1x 2v2, bo3
- Starting map given, loser pick, no double maps (unless both players agree)
- Every Sunday, 19:00 CET
- Points: one per game win + one per CW win (i.e. 3-2 = +4 and +2); walk.over = -2 for full CW, -1 if only one or 2 sets are WO-ed.
RULES
Mostly the same rules as season 57.
Yes Random IS allowed. Yes you can change races each set. The once-again famous Terran floating building bug where you can keep making unit with the building floating is banned, like it has been since iccup. It is called Terran Sliding Building bug but we will rename that.
INVITED TEAMS
Every team that played in season 57 is invited. The leaders can either confirm here or on the BWCL squad leader discord (either is fine). If nothing is heard before the deadline their spot may be forfeited. So do not wait too long.
NEW ENTRIES
New Teams are always welcome, please post here your team name, tag and location, as well as the list of players (max 20, min of 6).
For the little league, the cutoff MMR is 1650. We may extend the league to more than 6 teams depending on interest and registration up to a maximum of 10.
MISC
We are also looking for casters, any language, so if you are interested don't hesitate to reach out to us.
