Fischei is the lead admin of the second qualifier, his ruling is law. The mode was changed from Single Elim to Double Elimination, due to the low amount of players.
The System
The Qualification consists of two subsystems:
Qualification Tournament I & II: Knock Out Tournament, Winner hold Qualification Spot
Challenge System: Each winner can be challenged a total of two times, challenger has to 'bid' for the challenge spot.
Whoever survives the system gets a flight, a visum and travel costs for the main event in Russia.
Iceland Norway Sweden Finland Ireland United Kingdom Denmark Portugal Gibraltar Fuck Gibraltar Spain France Monaco Belgium Netherlands Luxembourg Germany Switzerland Liechtenstein Malta Italy Austria Czechia Slovenia Croatia Slovakia Hungary Bosnia and Herzegovina Serbia Montenegro Albania Macedonia North Macedonia (North Macedonia?) Greece Romania Bulgaria Cyprus Turkey
Right of Admission (I): The administration reserves the right to change and/or alter existing rules, as well as denying access to the qualifiers without further explanation.
Right of Admission (II): The administration will not accept the entry of any known hacker or cheater, regardless of when he/she/it was caught breaking the rules. The same logic is applied to known abusers and trolls.
Discord: The use of discord is mandatory. Admins should be contact primarily through this mean of communication.
NO SMURFING IN THE QUALIFIERS!
For the sake of transparency, the rules are explained if you want to know the reasoning and deeper meaning.
Right of Admission (I): If you constantly try to bend the rules by nitpicking constantly and/or troll players/administrators in an overboarding(!) way, you will divert attention from the ongoing event. You will then be able to see the event unfolding without you being part of it. For some things I'm just too old, arguing with angry 12 year olds is one of them.
Right of Admission (II): Hackers suck.
Discord: Battle.net can not be trusted and Discord is easier to manage in terms of keeping an eye on things. Doesn't mean no admin will be present on the play days.
Qualifiers

To challenge, please contact the admins or post in this topic. You have to start an auction for the challenge spot, minimal entry is $50 (money goes towards the main event prize pool)
Winner of the auction can challenge one of the winners of the Qualification Tournaments (Best of Seven)
Games have to be played out until 10th August 2019
Challenger has to make sure his latency isn't subpar (TR16 or better)
Make sure to contact the administration via Discord B E F O R E you make any transaction
Can I go on holiays if I won a challenge tournament?
Yes, but please tell us in advance, so we know.
Why this shit system? This sucks!
We have limited resources and admins to host the qualifications. Also, Brain pledged to host an event like this again if we raise 5000$ - this is an attempt to make that happen while also trying to defuse the hard qualification system a bit. Keep in mind you get a free holiday if you hold a qualification spot in a worst case scenario, in a best case scenario you win money and get the flight, visa and everything on top. It seems fair to me.
Who can bid for the Challenge Games?
Literally everyone. The winner can outbid his challenger, any benefactor can sponsor his favourite player and so on and so forth. Important note: only EU (no Poland) players can actually play for the spot.
Challenge 1: Auction vs. Madinho (Winner Qualifier 2)
Challenger: Bakuryu (55$)
Results: Madinho 4 - 1 Bakuryu
Madinho remains Champion. One challenge Remains.
Challenge 2: Auction vs. Madinho (Winner Qualifier 2)
A bigger prize pool helps out a lot. Brain is thinking of hosting another tournament like this next year if we raise 5000$. Please consider giving something if you can afford it. To give you incentives, I put up a list with possible things we can "sell" you for that.
Ongoing Auction:
Change of Discord Group Picture, Bid: 20$ (NeMu) Deadline: until closing
$5: Submit your custom banner for this topic and we will add it.
$5: I will follow you on Instagram or Facebook or Twitter or YouTube (5$ each, I almost have like 30 followers and make you famous).
$10: I will send an annoying Telegram to Brain with the meme of your choice.
$20: Select the Starting Map for Round 1 (from the map pool)
$75: Ban Fighting Spirit and replace it with a balanced map
$100 LuLz Donation: You will get a postcard from someone somewhere, if you supply your address. It will also feature a bag full of nothing in it.
$100: Rename the Tournament Name from e.g. "Corruption EU Qualifier I" to "[pG]Ceratul is great Czar Tour #1". First come, first serve.
$100: Tournament System will be changed from Knock Out to Double Elimination
$500: The first Tournament (Qualifier I) will be changed to Swiss System, 4 Rounds, Bo3, potential Tie Breaks Bo3 after the final round. If you are mad enough to donate that kind of money, I'm willing to attempt the impossible.
$100 towards the winner: The winner has to use the nick you want in the final tournament. No too demeaning nicks, nothing racist or such.
$20 and this cat will receive healthy food, else it will be thrown back into the sea
my suggestion: maybe 10 USD skip: your starting oponent and re-order bracket (only first round) ['dodge movement'] 30 USD to pick 2 players fight against other, to reverse that, player involved should pay at least 25 USD (only first round) (example, if you play vs boxer and your best friend vs bisu, then play 30 usd to see boxer vs bisu first round, + reorder)
Very nice tour. It uses a pretty unique system, that's for sure.
I took a glimpse at the standard rules and it says:
b. Discouraged glitches and bugs: iv. Shift-queue to slide through any unit blocking the ramp (mostly used at the beginning with the first scouting);
Does that mean I am not allowed to use the common trick where I leave the opponents base with my scouting scv and shift right click to his minerals which I can see at that moment? A pretty weird rule considering that it is allowed in progames.

Nono, that's common. Not even a trick, or a bug. Just standard action. The shift-clicking is a special abuse

Good point buddy! It seems to me they want to make it a slugfest for the top2 Europe spots :D
I was given only permission to alter the EU Qualifiers with rules I see fit. The entire challenge idea is just there to increase the final event's prize pool. And to have fun. And to play jokes on Arcneon.
Kame and nemu : dont take ur griefs too early. Participate and take ur sorrows from there. Play in 1st challenge and 2nd. If it doesent go your/our way, lets realize Eon is better. We decide if we wanna challenge. Eon dewalt been top eu for years. Maybe bony spx can challenge. But us others need to learn our place. They are better.

You seem abit brain dead but I'll answer you anyway. First we obviously can't challenge Eon because of lag, second I don't think he will be first in the list for challenges! Third we can't challenge the top8 russian and top8 polish qualifiers! Meaning everyone else is fighting for only 2 spots which is ridiculously sad I personally won't bother to fill everyone else pockets just because organizers like their countries in a corrupted way lol. They can play with themselves if thats the case. All big $ tourneys are trashley and unfairly organized imo. Similiar but not as bad happened with Italy offline tourney. Lets send who we want and let the rest fight for the scraps even though they might be better. Mad[aov], for the info I know my place and its always been in top16. Sadly they are gonna chose the top20. Feelsbad.
I may seem abit brain dead but I'll answer you anyway, Nemu.
Not "top8", but top3 Polish qualis. I gues you would have even less chances, should be part of EU qualis (even like 6 spots combined).
This is not a free Moscow tourism, but a challenge for the best of EU. So yeah, we are going to pick top2, not "top16 of Europe".
As for Russian favoritizm, first, the tournament is made in Russia. I would've considered 100% fair to see same scale Bulgarian tournament with Nemu and Wallace invited (and Christian with Lamer, if they agree), another 8 quotas for BG and just two for everyone else. Second, a Russian player grand final participation budget is much less than any foreigner. Prizepool is just a top of an iceberg. Pardon me, I don't trade cocaine or print money, lol.
All challenge fees will go to the prize pool. Oh, wait, there are just 8 prize places, twice less than 16. Indeed, this is "filling everyone else pockets".
Sad that some of the players decided to miss the qualis, considering that participation is absolutely free. Regardless, there are much more players around the globe who are thirsty for wcg-class tournament. Since it's the same huge effort making happy a sore topsixteener and a thousand of fans, I opt for the later due to much more benefit for the public good.

Well you most certainly are a bit brain dead since you decided to ''answer'' me although I had no questions and was quoting a person who directly mentioned my name. Since you are trying to make something clear to me let me try to jump on your key points. If I did have a Big Bulgarian offline tournament, I would never undermine EU talant and would give everyone a fair shot(which means slim to none bulgarians are going to qualify), and would cover travels expenses from my own pocket or sponsors! You are so greedy you are not even realizing it! The funny thing is the majority of the money which you hope to be raised would be done much easier if more europeans had incentive to donat. Yes, they still have less of a chance than the best polish and russian players but atleast give them a shot? Its a win win for both sides but nobody with enough IQ is there to realize it! The top players who have the biggest chance are always going to get the biggest prize but cut some of the prize pool for the ability of more players being able to enjoy a trip to your lovely Moscow! For the record if I could challenge all those top polish and top russian Protoss users for 50-100$ a peice you think I can't qualify for your stupid tourney? I practiced close to 0% for last BSL, because obviously the prize pool isn't worth our time anymore. You can all stop refering to me now as I'm going to let you smart fellas promote our good game and hope new people are going to come like this.... GL! I'll also wait for the latest ICARUS movie to see how mighty the russians are!

Great reminder how your grandpops unslaved us while raping and ruling over what ever you wanted! Thanks, unfortunately those "great" men are now dead and we are left with the peeps like you . But ye in general I guess russian ruling is better than turkish, atleast when I slap yo a** you respect me some noob!

KogeT, I wouldn't bet money vs any top terran atm you have proved you are one of them since you won me and did better than me in last 2 big qualifiers including Italian tour since in my email I was asked to go if you couldn't! I would expect more from you than to randomly boost your ego which at best is trying to defend your country someway.... Its like Eon, Dewalt or any other player that has better results than me to challenge me in the middle of thread? If I have time in the future to play more games so I feel confident you will see NEMU we will do some games for $ if we both still interested! Another thing to consider was the emphasis on the word PROTOSS, and the prize being qualifying for the big tourney, not win the same amount, which would be a straight up bet. If people like kogeT chime in inappropriately what am I expecting for the rest..... Sad day for brood.

I'm not entirely sure I understood everything you posted, but this sentence I really have problems with. Brain does sponsor accomodation, flight and visa for any player that participates, including the spots of Europe. Any donation the viewers, players and other third parties do will go directly into the main event's prize fund and thus are not related to travel expanses or go to Brain's bank account. To me it seems the distribution of slots per continent/region is closer related to Brain's private money(!!!), not to his imagined patriotism, as well as to the lack of people who are willing to sponsor the flight/visa costs for their favourite player.
Now, what I don't get is how you say that would somehow undermine the EU playerbase's "talent": how?
If the invites and the majority of the Russians suck, they'll have a hard time to advance to the pay out stages in Moscow, so you won't fill their pockets with donated money, as they're not eligible to cash in, as the "legitly" qualified players will kill them off in the early final event stages.
If you're sure you belong within this tournament, you can always get in contact with Brain and suggest you pay for the trip yourself (and thus get a slot for the final event outside of the qualification design), add some $50++ donation to the pool and compete from the first round on. If you surpass the "illegit" Russians in the main event, you probably win back the money you put on the line, even if you don't win the overall LAN tournament.
In any case, nobody wants to exclude anyone from the event. Raging on about the tournament design is very easy for an outsider who has no financial commitment to the outcome.

Why no spots dedicated solely for romanians? Like 10 of them, even if i suck badly, i might be top #10 Romania. Or like 100 for EU, given the low player base, i might have a chance there as well. Not fair!111 On a more serious note, Rus_Brain is awesome.
Dear Nemu... I think you've proven in the last BSL that you're certainly capable enough of securing one of those two EU spots. It is up to you tho. Doing so will be the factual conclusion this quite intriguing intellectual dilemma needs. That aside, I'm sure the community collectively is more than willing to put together 5.000 USD, the real question is how to properly incentivize them to do so..
Geez man, the shit that you have to put up with :D Seriously I just can't fathom what's up with some people... Anyhow, it just seems silly people and drama are inevitably gonna pop up with big events -- hope you don't let it faze you at all and keep bringing us these premier events!

What if you win the qualifier, then you're not home for 1-2 weeks and under that time someone has challenged you, Is there a obligatory attendance up until August? Thanks

No. If somebody really challenges, we'd discuss date and details of the challenge match. The challenger can not unilaterally decide. So nobody's holidays should be in danger, nor would you be disqualified if you left town for a few days spontaneously.

Your auction is confirmed Nemu. Please do NOT send any money yet until the auction is closed. Now, any other eligible player (EU player) can outbid you in order to play vs the Winnner of Qualifier #2 for the spot.
I set the minimal asking price to 55$ for any bid to go over Nemu's, after that 5$ increments for starters. I don't set an end date for the auction now, but Head Referee Gecko might do so later. Any binding offers only in this thread please. If you make a bid and try to back out, Brain will send the russian mafia to your house, just so you know

Hmm I thought both winners can be challenged at the same time? More matches = more challengers = more money raised. Why have one big long auction when we can have multiple smaller ones untill its time for the tourney. I was thinking if someone outbid me to insta challenge Oya with 50$ and see how it goes there LOL. Game of thrones style would be nice if there are many crown switches haha.

As Cele posted, your bid is now official and the deadline is Friday, 28th, 18:00 CEST. The next possible bid is $55 or higher. If someone outbids you, the winner of the bid earns the right to challenge Madinho to a Best of Seven.
Only one auction per spot, you can't put up $50 and try to buy both challenge games. If you want to challenge Oya (Winner Qualifier #1), you have to upfront another $50 and pay it, regardless if you win vs. Madinho or not.

I made an interview with MadiNho for the clan, but figured it could be of interest to others as well. So posting it here too =)
On June 22nd, the second qualifier tournament for the Corrupted Cup took place. The tournament had a lot of big names attending (including our own Avi coming by for a troll) - but the winner was our magnificent MadiNho. The 2v2 player showing the world that the 2v2-style rules 1v1!
He was kind enough to give a small interview during the aftermath. Incomplete[ReV]: Congratulations on winning the second qualifier tournament for the Corrupted Cup! You had quite the road through the brackets, taking down some really strong players.
How did you feel your games were compared to your form? You haven't played for quite a while?
MadiNho[ReV]: Hi and thanks! Think I got lucky in the brackets. There were some players I didn't want to meet. TvT vs cryoc, no thanks, or TvZ vs Avi. Glad the other players took care of them. I had a blast playing the games, drinking and streaming it with my vikinghat and ReV-shirt. Tried making it as entertaining as possible, some of the games got a little closer than I'd hoped for :D . I didn't really practise anything. Had a lot in life going on, work, school etc, but now I got 4 weeks holiday. Form is Temporary, Class is Permanent
Incomplete[ReV]: Yeah, it was a blast to watch - at least the games I was able to watch live. I especially liked your game against Eriador - 8 rax, queens, mech, doom drops. It seemed like a constant back and forth game. Did you ever consider leaving? Or did you always feel you had control or should be able to bounce back?
MadiNho[ReV]: It's not over until the fat lady sings, but I could hear her warming up in the background if I didn't pull my shit together. I never leave. BW is liker poker.. All you need is a building to stay alive and a unit to micro! I knew he was low on eco, so I just needed to stop him from making any more bases, catch his queens and choose the fights that would tip my way.
Link to the start of MadiNho's game against Eriador.
Incomplete[ReV]: And you did so splendidly!
Due to the tournament format, people can bid to challenge you as the winner if the tournament. NeMu has bid 50$ so far, and the auction ends this Friday. Are you worried? Do you hope lesser players outbid him, or do you see it as an opportunity to prove your worth?
MadiNho[ReV]: Not really worried. It's a fun concept, but I don't think anyone will outbid him either. Looking forward to play vs NeMu if nobody outbids him . I've never really practise any buildorders, just lots of experience built up from playing with and vs some amazing players, 2x2 and 1x1. But I am most known for my unorthodox style which can come as a surprise to the robot 1x1ers who knows all the timings. But NeMu comes from the same background as me, so time will tell
Incomplete[ReV]: Might see some epic games then!
How do you handle the pressure of a tournament setting? Any advice for newer players on how to approach a Bo1, Bo3, and the the constant pressure through the entire event?
MadiNho[ReV]: Have your favorite drink next to you! My weapon of choice is bacardi, really calms my nerves. Also a great excuse if anyone walks in on me with a vikinghat, I can just blame the alcohol. In bo1 anything can happend, I don't have the greatest tournament records, due to I rarely play them. In the bo1 game vs cadenzie I got really lucky I caught the lings, so I just almost always assume the worst, scouting is crucial! Bo3 you got a little more time, not alot, but some to read your opponent and get into your groove. Also don't be afraid to try new things so you don't become predictable.
MadiNho under heavy pressure from Bakuryu in the Grand Finals.
Incomplete[ReV]: Assuming you win against NeMu (or any other challenger who wins the bid) - do you have any plans for extra training or preparations for the offline event?
MadiNho[ReV]: That's never been my style. Biggest issue will be if my balls are big enough to go to Russia and face all the mafia protoss who awaits me there! I think NeMu will be practising harder than me for our games, I will be there on match day with my hat and my bacardi, take one game at the time and enjoying the game. Just glad to see remastered putting new light on BW since "everyone" claims its dead, but maybe more alive now than ever. So when iCCup users finally want to take the big step and come to remastered and maybe for once increase their skill - i will be waiting for them. Little offtopic, but after all the good left from iCCup to RM, the "noobs" don't really see the skill gap because they now consider themself the best. I never liked to do anything half-assed, so I try to be the best I can be and I still got more in me. Thats the beauty with BW, each day you learn something new. If you try to educate others they just call you no lifer and carry on with their life. I just don't understand why most people spend 2-6 hours likely pr day on a game and doesn't want to increase their skill.
Incomplete[ReV]: Some interesting thoughts!
That's the end for this time, but before I fully thank you for your time, do you have any last words to your clan mates or to the community overall?
MadiNho[ReV]: Really glad I joined ReV when I did! A clan where you feel like home, everyone is nice and thrive to help each other to get better. Can't say I read everything thats written in our discord but there is sooooo much activity and i love to see it. Next ReV meeting I am definitely showing up Keep fighting and BW forever, thanks for the interview. And if anyone wants to pracc or play some games with me, high or low - just hook me up Peace out <3
Thank you and congratulations against to MadiNho! I wish him the best of luck and enjoyment for the coming challenge, and hopefully for the offline tournament in October!
Incomplete: really cool you did an interview with Mad. Gotta say i don't know him well, but he seems like a relaxed and cool guy, the viking hat was awesome!! Thx for sharing! Grats to you Madinho, you deservedly won! Now lets wait for Nemu and his 1a2a [not 3a, p easy race]
Nice interview!!! Madinho is experienced champ and I honestly want to see more versatile players like him in tourney, unfortunately we are gonna have to duke it out!!!
Congrats to Madinho !!! Really fantastic play in the finals......... u could just tell beyond doubt that Qikz was exuding pure bliss with every cell of his being :D It's indeed real entertaining to see something more ballsy and unorthodox - especially in a high-stakes game!
Does Madinho get a percentage of the bidders money if he wins the challenge? If not, have you considered this? It takes a lot of time, games and work to win a qualifier...

Update to the challenge system, after Bakuryu "stole" the first challenge minutes before closing. Additions in bold
Any player can challenge
An auction starts, once a minimal bid of $50 is placed
Any auction runs seven days in total, starting on the day the first bid was placed
Minimal raise in the auction is 5$
In the last 24 hours of the auction (on the last day) the minimal raise is four times the minimal bid (4 * 5$ = 20$) to avoid another "Bakuryu tactic"
If only one bid was done (Starting bid 50$, one raise to 55$, nothing else), a bidding duell between the first bidder and the second one can take place for 24 hours after the official closing of the auction (again to avoid a one time minimal raise)
Obviously, following the spirit of corruption, the rules are subject to change if you are just grateful enough with bribes donations towards the prize pool.

I ask here because some people might have the same question: Player A bids 50 Player B bids 55 Player C wants to snipe in the deadline. His next bid has to be minimum: 55+ 5x4= 75 $. Correct?
Second example: Player A bids 50 Player B bids 70 in the deadline. No further bids. We have a bidding duel of 24 hours after the deadline is done. Correct?

Player A bids 50$, Auction Starts, runs seven days Payer B bids 55$ (let's say Day 2 of the auction) Player C bids 75$ (on Day 7 of the auction) -> correct, added dates to stress out the point
However, if player C bids 24 hours 1 minute before the end of the deadline, he can try to snipe with 'only' a $5 raise to 60$
Second example: Player A bids 50 Player B bids 70 in the deadline. No further bids. We have a bidding duel of 24 hours after the deadline us done. Correct?
Yes, but also
Player B bids 55$ on Day 2 (or any other day), no further bids until the deadline runs out
Challenge accepted Nemu. Next possible bid is 55 USD, deadline is on Saturday, 13th July 2019 18 CET. All rules above mentioned apply of course. If someone outbids you, the winner of the bid earns the right to challenge Oya to a Best of Seven. Oya can win the bet in order to not play for the title.
Do NOT send any money until the auction is closed and a winner is determind.

Everyone I'm stepping away from the challlenge and broodwar as a whole except occasional fun 2v2. I'm pretty frustrated and dissapointed in remastered and honestly don't want to waste any more of my time trying to play trash games with tr8 on extra high. I will be donating 20$ to the prize pool for my troubles and I wish everyone else good luck!!!
Thats a shame Nemu, we were all looking forward to see you play! Yes RM can be frustrating, but remember:
You don't quit Broodwar, Broodwar quits you! So, im confident to see you soon (;
Nice gesture to donate 20 $ tho.
That being said, i consider your bet canceled:

That means, the first challenge against Oya is still open, minimum bet by anybody is 50,00 USD. (Starting bet). All rules above mentioned apply.

the challenge was played on Saturday, 14th of July, Madinho won 4-1 over Bakuryu! You can watch the Vod on Vincents or Gorynich twitch.tv.
The second and last challenge against Madinho can thus be made. The starting bet is 50 $ as per usual, bets will be accepted up until 29th of July. Happy bidding!

It's strange that Baku preferred ZvT to ZvP, could have gone easier for him but maybe Oya is just too strong dunno.
Oya's aggressive style probably clashes hard with Baku's relatively low apm, macro style. Shit, Madinho is just as aggressive. Maybe he feels more comfortable in ZvT than ZvP.
I will put up $25 on top of Cryoc's 50$ (if he still wants to play, German-2-German-Admin-Bribe-Bonus), which will bring Cryoc's bid up to $75 in total.

Next possible bid is 95$ or higher.
Deadline: tomorrow 18 CEST.
Thanks for boosting my bidding, I still want to play.

I mean, Cryoc I respect your hustle but Madinho beat ByuL in a straight up game. Mad has quite possibly the sickest TvT I've ever seen outside of Korea.

I bid 100$ on iRk-Kame's bid making it 155$
The bet for irk-Kame is confirmed and currently in the lead.
Next bet has to be min. 175 USD.
I remind all third parties involved so far (Eon, Gecko, Agge) that your offer is binding, no backing out as long as your player doesn't withdraw his challenge.
No offense, but i want to have that clear before we continue.
4:20h roughly until the bet closes.
Btw nice to see that there's a lot of support for both players. Feelsgoodman :D

I would like to see that for myself.
I am raising my bid to 120$. That should make 205$ in total (120$ (me) + 60$ (iFU) + 25$ (Gecko)). Thanks for the support guys, I appreciate it.
So for the the whole day ive have been wondering what to do, since it looks like the last 2 days ive been developping an otitis. Im unsure how my health will be the next days, so unfortunately it is too risky for me to snipe this challenge with a 200+ish bet. gl to the challenger.

if someone wants to challenge oya, we will certainly do it somewhat differently.

Yeah, unfortunate actually but it was late. As Gecko already said, the current rules are not optimal (too complicated). We'll rethink it for Oya's challenge if there is interest. Atm it seems nobody dares to challenge him, so thats that.

Cool it down boysssss!!! If nobody mans up to challenge Oya I might have to step up and do it on the last possible day which is when admins???@Geckoxp@Cele Cryoc you gonna need luck to get madinhooo go to church you can do it!!!!!

you're in the lead. If i understand Gecko's idea for this right, we'll have a live bidding war in Discord (Date tbd) by all biding parties involved when the deadline is done.
- The anonymous bidder is out - I consider KingEmo's ninininini as forfeit and count him out as well
This leaves two possible contestants: Bakuryu and Cryoc.
Tomorrow night, there will be a bidding war between those two players. The live auction will be held via Discord. The starting bid is 110$ (by Cryoc). If a third party (anyone, really) wants to support either player, he or she is allowed to add a small donation on top of the player's raise. The auction will begin at 21:15 CEST.

In an anticlimating eruption of events Cryoc wins the spot with ... $110. Meanwhile, Bakuryu does the nEMO. Cryoc has 24 hours to pay up, date of the challenge is to be announced.
The winner of the challenge will move on to Moscow, as the deadline for qualification approaches rapidly.

So it is better to appreciate what do we have and not b*tch on it all the time.
