ESL Admin here, if you have any feedback regarding the mappool, feel free to share.
Don't bother. It's impossible to please everyone and most tournaments have map pool complaints. Your maps are fine. Outsider is "unusual" and Blue Storm "has annoying unit pathing" which I think most people would complain about. If anything you should swap those two out for other maps that nobody will agree on such as Ground Zero, Sniper Ridge or something.

Thanks, will keep that in mind, I was looking for less standard maps, like Camelot, but due to how favoring it is to certain matchups (to not say broken), I rolled with a more standard choice.
It's literally the HaY map pool, which everyone praised so... People just being weird.
I'm a fan of it
Actually, your content was the inspiration for this map pool, I went through all the matches you streamed, and picked the maps based on the matches I found most enjoyable to watch
Personally I'd like the mappool to resemble what's currently being played in Korea: CB, FS, Jade, Salamander and Crossing Fields or maybe some of the proposed ASL 4 Prelim maps: Neo Aztec, La Mancha, New Bloody Ridge. I like to see how differently top foreigners and koreans approach the same maps.

camelot is not imbalanced. and yes, just pick a mappool and stick to it, as you will never please everybody.
The admins have asked for feedback about the map pool so I will go ahead.
Jade can be directly swapped with (4)Eddy Circuit Breaker can be directly swapped with (4)Clay Fields Fighting Spirit can be directly swapped with (4)Crown And Sceptre Outsider, a quirky 3 player map, can be swapped with (3)Uzi Sara.
-Solid, satisfying, fun gameplay -Modern balance -Polished -Points of interest (eg Eddy has 2 island expos, Clay Fields has egg blocked expos, Crown And Sceptre has double bridges)
Good to see a new tour, and ofcourse its your tour so you can do whatever you want.

Its not the same map pool, 2 out of 5 are different. Im not certain everyone praised it 100%. Personally I like that you are open to using some of the newer modern maps in 'have at you' (even though I dont necessarily actually like the ones that were chosen as much as others, but the maps that were chosen are ones being used by korean leagues so I understand why they were picked). Thirdly I agree that .gypsy was being weird in the way he expressed his opinion. It was rude. He was the only person at that point to have spoken about maps like that, and you were only the 6th reply anyway.
There are some people that are bored of maps they consider to be old. And there are those that may be a bit bored of maps they consider to be overplayed. There are some people that prefer what they consider to be higher quality gameplay, balance and polish. I dont necessarily personally fall into any of those groups, and I dont know if .gypsy is in any of them either, but I dont think people who are in any of those groups are weird.
But it has got to a point where there is definitely a fairly vocal group of people who dont love FS in tour map pools for example. And there are others that definitely arent big fans of Outsider due to balance. Ill add that there are still vocal people that do like one or both of these maps though aswell so its a choice. Some people dont find Crossing Fields (by Waldstein) or Camelot (by LatiAs) to be very inspiring. And I love many of the maps LatiAs has made but I think others of his are better. Hell I spent quite a bit of time personally editing Salamander (before it was called Salamander) because I liked it more than some other maps. And he has made edits to several of his maps based on our conversations with each other. So I was saying I really like that you are open to using new maps, and it makes sense to use ones being used in korean tours. But I dont think the korean tours picked the best maps to use themselves in the first place. But generally if a tour uses a LatiAs map thats a win in my book so dont get me wrong, Im happy you used Camelot in some ways.
Also I want to point out that both 'have at you' and this tour are using Jade version 2.1 which is a hotfix version to improve mining done by Freakling. It shows you guys trust foreign mappers enough to use foreign fixed versions of korean maps. Well why not go all out and actually use foreign maps! You never know, you might just like them more.
The map pool is fine I guess though I don't understand the outsider obsession, I guess we have afreeca to blame for that, though I could understand the whole "something different" argument. (I guess I'd take outsider over monty hall or arkanoid any day)
I wish we could move on from this whole bluestorm trend and just play destination, match point, or even HBK.
Anyway I was being facetious this is a good initiative more tournaments are always welcome.
I've never played on any of those maps you suggested Jukado but they look really good, I'm down for whatever...glad ESL is back in BW Tournaments myself.

Not banned, that is not the word you are looking for, but this tournament is only for Europe.

I'm looking into this issue as reported by you guys, for now, can you try to use other browser and click on the register button to add your Battle.tag?
Also, please let me know in which browser you are currently trying (version too, if you know how to get that) so I can forward to ESL to get it fixed. If it is possible to do this:
Provide a screenshot of your browser, add the version you are using. Don't bother with the dropdown menus, just add a s subject and detail the issue (which browser and version it worked and it didn't), and I'll pass it on for ESL to get the issue fixed asap.
UPDATE: We applied some changes on our platform, the sign up should work without any issue now. If it still doesn't work, do create a ticket on the link above
The maps are interesting to say the least, I can say more because I never played on those, and I have a request, do you have any replays of these maps being tested out by other players? If not replays, matches casted?
I can play on those a bit, but I'm far from the level of most of the BW players and I'll like to see more experienced hands giving them a go first. If the tournament didn't have prize at all, I would totally put the maps there, but since we have things for players to compete for, I will take the safer route.

I wonder why Turkey can take part and Kazakhstan does not. Turkey and Kazakhstan are partly located in Europe. And they are considered Eurasia

Northwestern Kazakhstan is west of the Ural and so in Europe. It's a small part of Kazakhstan but Kazakhstan is fucking huge so that's still more land in Europe than the size of the majority of European counties ^_^

Imo it would be better if all CIS countries (Russia, Ukraine, Byelorussia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgystan and so on) were considered as "Europe" in BW tournaments since all of them belong to the Russian speaking community. Btw, KZ national football team and clubs play in UEFA. Just thoughts.
Uzi Sara has been shortlisted to be used in the next ASL and has been tested and checked over by korean pros. For example here is a video of Larva testing it out: youtu.be
Eddy is an iCCup map already, so its been used in tournaments and playtested a fair bit. I dont have replays of it on this computer sorry. Using the new tools in the map editor, Freakling has recently given it an extra couple of tweaks to improve it further, so be sure to use the newest version from the link above rather than the iccup version if you were to use it. Its Jade, plus islands, plus awesome aesthetics, plus awesome ramps, plus Freaklings exacting standards of polish for mining rates etc, you cant go wrong.
Its great to see you are considering using them. Basically I am confident they play well and you would be more than satisfied with them, I wouldnt recommend them if I wasnt. Uzi Sara is brand new so it is an exception in that it hasnt been playtested in the same way yet (but it has been looked at by korean pros and mappers and has been given the full works in terms of time invested into it to polish it a huge amount. The point is the map is already far above the normal standard in terms of polish). So despite it not having been used yet in a tournament, Im still confident to recommend it. Eventually it may turn out to have something unpredictable in its gameplay, but because I was suggesting it as an alternative to Outsider, this is actually just fine. What I mean is, its meant to be quirky and interesting in a different way to standard maps. We do everything we can to make sure it will be balanced, then you have to actually play it and find out, and thats the fun part, the discovery process for players etc. No one knows exactly how it will play yet in the long term and at the highest level and thats what is cool about a map like this, rather than Outsider which we already guaranteed DO know is troublesome. And like I say Uzi Sara is shortlisted to be used in the next ASL so you would be on the cutting edge to use it which is pretty nice. The other maps arent exactly old either! Eddy is more established but as I say it has had a recent update that lets you wall the 3rd base with a single pylon; well that is ultra modern.
The maps are also easy to learn and get comfortable on quickly which is a bonus. Comfortable sized mains and easy walling options at the nats etc. You can start playing and use the exact same walls as on Circuit Breaker or Fighting Spirit if you want.
These maps benefit from an additional 10 years of developments and powerful new map editing software and techniques. I can see you are tempted to go for it. They wont let you down. Another great bonus of using foreign maps though is that if anything were to need a hotfix, well we are right here and can do that for you.
Its my job to give you zero reasons not to try these maps. Hopefully Ive convinced you. The 3 standard maps play like standard maps in many ways, so theres basically nothing that can go wrong if you were to use them. They take the best of what has gone before and iterate on top of that. Meanwhile Uzi Sara is your quirky non standard map that players will enjoy getting extra creative on.
Guys, enter the Battle.tag upon clicking on the "register" button. Just entering the in-game ID is not enough. The Battle.tag has the following format: PLAYER1#1234

It's because it's the only super non standard 3p Ladder map so people play it due to ladder.
@JungleTerrain Im a month or so behind on vods and have been trying to avoid spoilers so I dodged reading all details in some tournament threads, while also keeping up to date with all the remastered news, so thats why I havent seen those videos yet. Exciting
@Sinistro No worries, and again no hard feelings if you decide not to use them. Im just giving you options. Like I say its your tour so you can do whatever you want ofcourse.

Yes, the ASUS and Games On are the same thing, it is an offline event that will be held on Prague, it is only for cz/sk players.
When in doubt, you can reach the organization of the tournament by clicking on the support option and then sending a ticket (just add a title and a subject, don't change anything on the dropdown menus).

While things are listed as fixed, we never know when they may break again. So it is safer to leave them on the rules. Here you can find details on the cargo glitch:
Hey Sinistro, do you already have an English caster for the tournament today? I'm interested in casting it and I sent you a PM a little while ago. Just want to make sure I don't step on any toes
Hullo, I signed up this morning but seem to have disappeared from the player list. Have I been replaced?
EDIT: I changed my country from NZ to UK this morning also as I haven't used my ESL account in years and moved to UK ~4 years ago; I'm in Europe I promise :p
Do not restream other's content. If you want to broadcast in chinese do contact ESL through the support page and we can organize a way for it to happen.

Sorry for the lame finals cast today guys. I was really hoping I would be able to see it to the end, but we had quite a few issues at the start of TL Open. Thank you Sinistro for being super understanding!
Hey guys, just a heads up. I don't think I'll be casting the ESL Weekly any more since I have to help manage TL Opens. Thanks for letting me cast these the last month or so!
Blizzone.pl was covering the tournament in Polish.
Regarding the Cup #10 finals, due to the outage the finals was transferred to the Saturday 28th at 13:00 CEST. And the 11th cup will resume as usual at 14:00 CEST.
Coldboy_vn, can't say it will or won't happen, but knowing that there is a scene there to be known is the first step towards getting anything started on it.
