Welcome to the reboot of the C Ranks Teamleague! This league is mainly for C ranked players but anyone from E to C+ B- can join (B- players will be spread evenly among the teams), and it has a $250 prize! Yes, we know the last one of these leagues ran out of steam but hopefully with the proper incentives, rules and team structures we can make this one successful.
FORMAT
League Format 6 (or 8) teams, 1 match per week. There will be 2 rounds where teams will play every other team once per round making the regular season 10 weeks long assuming we have 6 teams. Top 4 teams will move on to the playoffs which will be single elimination.
Match Format Best of 5, no ace match, each set is a best of 1 on a predetermined map. Captains must submit the lineups by Wednesday night/Thursday morning 03:59 GMT (+00:00). Lineups will be posted the following day. All sets need to be played and count towards the set score which will act as the first tiebreaker for playoff positions.
Time and Date Games will be played on Sundays at 19:00 GMT (+00:00). Games must be played before the replay deadline. First match will be Sunday, March 24th or the following week if we need more signups March 31st.
PRIZE POOL
$250 - Winner Take All
The prize will be split among the team members according the number of points each player has. Captains start with 2 points. All other players start with 0. Individual players will earn: +2 points for win/forfeit win +1 point for a loss -2 points for a forfeit loss
Captains can also lose points for the following reasons: -1 point per day for late lineup submission (1st time warning) -1 point per day for late replay submission (1st time warning)
The penalties for captains can stack up pretty fast but at the same time can earn them 2 extra points if they are punctual.
SIGNUP
Eligibility Anybody with a TL account as of March 2nd, with a maximum ICCup ranking of B- (6999 points) for all seasons is allowed to signup.
How to signup? Every player must sign up individually in this thread either as part of a team or as a free agent. Free agents are free to join teams but you have to PM me so I can add you to the team. Any free agents left over at the end of the signup period will be drafted or placed into teams. Post the following:
Team: Team Name or Free Agent, indicate if you wish to be captain. ICCup ID: (ID you will play on) Most used/well known ICCup ID: (if different from above) Race: Racepicking allowed but only 3 total matchups and a max of 1 mirror. Max Rank:

1. Winning team captain submits replay pack to cranksteamleague@gmail.com. Replays must be titled "Set#_Player1_Player2". Also, indicate the result of each set in the email. Replays must be submitted before 03:59 GMT (+00:00) on Monday night/Tuesday morning. 2. Captains must submit lineups including the players' races and map before Wednesday night/ Thursday morning 03:59 GMT (+00:00). 3. Rescheduling is allowed if both players agree to it, but no later than the replay deadline. 4. 20 minutes grace for no shows (by 15:20pm EDT). If there's a no show players must submit screenshots with timestamp using the /time command. 5. Substitutions: Teams will be allowed up to 3 substitutions in the event of a no show for the regular season and 0 for the playoffs, no questions asked. The subbed out player will still receive a penalty and the subbed in player will not earn any points. After that subs are not allowed and any no shows are forfeit loses. The subbed in player can't be one of the players already playing a game that week and must be subbed in before the 20min grace period is up. 6. All games played on ICCup with LAN latency on unless agreed to by both players. Anti-hack is a must. 7. Players can play on the same map up to 3 times for the duration of the league. 8. Race changes are allowed between weeks in the regular season but not the playoffs. PM me before lineup submission date to change race. 9. No BM in-game or out will be tolerated. 10. You must play on the ID you registered with. 11. No cheating, smurfing etc. ICCup rules apply.
Top 3 voted maps by highest percentage will be added. Round 2 maps will be determined later.
Players can play on the same map up to twice per round.

Can I play my offrace in this? They would be around C-. The players in Courage (DRTL) have beaten my offraces before so I don't think it will be a problem for C rankers.

There's no limit on players per team. However it is a Best of 5 no ace match (with all sets requiring to be played), so the minimum amount of players is 5. It is suggested to have a few more to account for people that can't show up every week.

My reasoning for why we should consider allowing B- is that they add better practice partners and add more players. Also I think DRTL has a lot of stagnating C- players who don't want to practice very much so that they can graduate into CRTL. CRTL can circumnavigate this issue of a relatively lower number of C- players in the league by making room for B- players. If we included B- players we wouldn't have to pressure the higher level DRTL players (who just want to stagnate at the top of their weight class) into improving so that they could be at the bottom of the CRTL pecking order. Obviously this means that the C- players who do sign up for CRTL and the C rank players of CRTL will be relatively worse, but honestly, I'd probably rather have these players as practice partners since they've made the concious choice to put themselves in a harder league with stronger competition. I fear if you make a lot of DRTL C- players graduate to CRTL, they would get an e-peen loss and view their situation as hopeless (since they would immediately go from being the ace of their team to the worst player on their team), and then they simply wouldn't participate and would probably bitch in the DRTL thread until they were let back into DRTL.

Considering the poll and the number of signups so far I'm gonna allow B- players to sign up. We're going to aim to have them spread evenly among the teams so for now the limit is 2 B- players per team.
So far there's only 1 team signed up and 20 free agents. We need people to start forming teams and some people to step up as captains. I could form the teams myself but I'd prefer people to form teams with people they know or else I dont see the teams staying together very long. There should be a minimum of 7-8 players per team so we need about 42-48 players before this league can go ahead.

Can I join the team with most of my friends on as a playing coach? Current circumstances does not allow me to play bw on a scheduled basis but later on I may be able to and want to participate.
We need more than 2-3 teams...if you want to be a team captain, you don't have to wait for people to come to you, PM a couple C-rankers you know and ask them if they'd be interested in being your team

Everyone knows how the ranking system in the Fish server is volatile - any C rank player can go anywhere from 1000-1150 points on a very good run. If Dr.Shrinker can hold 1150 pts and higher than I could fairly say that he is indeed B- and higher, but I do not think he can.
I could say the same for Siz)Beggar because I am pretty sure he reached 1150 pts on Fish server as well, but I think Siz)Beggar is a strong C+ player.
And hasn't sas.v0rti reached B- in skills at some point in his long history of Brood war? Although due to his inactivity, I think he is a strong C+ player as well.

It does b/c there's a max of 2 B- per team, if not this rule you'd just have a team full of B- players. Which I'd be totally content with if you wanted this.

Breach did not win the Yellow StarLeague easily...all his series were very close against: Oxyacety, Wallace, Seriosity, youRun, and Fold. I know this because I watched all of Breach games during the Yellow StarLeague in order to help youRun and Fold to win against Breach. If you rewatch his games fold, you would agree that Breach got extremely lucky in certain games against Seriosity, Wallace, youRun, and yourself. And if you play Breach again, you will easily beat him.
Some of you may feel I am being bias because he is on my team, but I could fairly say if another team got him before me on their team as a C player, I would not of said anything. I specifically chose Breach because he is a fellow active Protoss I could easily work with - he will take my feedback on strategy with open arms, and he is determined to practice hard in preparation for his upcoming CRTL matches.
Breach has his strengths, but he has weaknesses too, like all C rank players, our team will take advantage of his strengths and minimize his weaknesses.
Why don't we split them up to make teams more fair. If there in the end happens to be enough good players in this league at that level though, we may as well let them be on your team.

Sorry no. The line is drawn at B-. Any more and eventually it becomes the C- and up team league.

B- players were allowed because by and large they don't see playtime in events like GC, NW, etc. There are many "fan favorites" as well as B- players in general that people wanted an opportunity to see so the decision was made to allow B- players.

I would have to guess C- '-' Though I have a week without class so I will be laddering a lot and could be more specific later. Could I be set as a free agent with a "guessed" rank? If so:

The one in this thread is the official one so if there's a discrepancy there's usually a reason. Some of the players on ur roster haven't signed themselves up.

They already knew beforehand what team they were going to be on. Posting was simply a formal way of assigning themselves to said team.

Then if it's not the passion I have on LP, I need to know ICCup name, race/matchups and that person themselves needs to post in here saying that he's playing for your team.
Id definitely volunteer to be a team leader but I just don't have the time outside of the weekends for the actual clanwars =/ Hopefully some people step up and fill up the slots.
The draft should be soon since we start on the 31st. Hopefully it'll be even this weekend or something. I'll bug l3g about it soon, so keep watch for updates.
Ideally all free agents will end up on a team. If more people sign up, I think teams should be able to pick them up as they want, provided it's mentioned in the thread. From a rough look at the free agent list, it looks like we might scrape by with 8 teams, but there should be a solid 7 teams. I honestly prefer the 7 teams because as I've seen from DRTL, 8 teams with the theoretical "ideal amount" of players per team, ends up with a lot of delayed matches/walkovers.
Also, the additional 1-2 teams are dependent on the willingness of some free agents to act as a captain and coordinate the players. Not sure what would happen if no one offers to captain. Also, it's not just enough to be willing to captain, you actually have to do the stuff required of you.
I really hope I get picked for a team, I mean i'm like a ringer , a sniper, you have me on your team and its like getting a walkover from the opposing team.

Yeah, you can organize your team however you like, but you need to designate one captain that will take responsibility should lineups or something not be handed in on time.

I'm going to assume that if said people cared about others judgments on them leaving the league, they would state their reasons for leaving the league so as to avoid others judgments on them leaving the league.
