My heart says Oz cause I'm a dong fan, and I also want mini-dong to have his revenge, but my mind says that SKT will be out for blood after their loss in PL finals.

i really don't care if Oz loses, i just want soo humiliated by any of Oz players if he ever does come out. Oz wrapping this up with a win would definitely be a plus though

How's that close minded? The highest chance for an exciting game lies in a BvJ ace game.
It's closed minded because he said he "only" cares about one particular game not even giving the other players the time of day when they can produce games just as exciting as BvJ. But surely, BvJ will be extremely exciting.

Predicting this to go 4-1 in Oz's favour, Killer takes 2 games and Jaedong takes the other 2. The single win from SKT will be from Bisu, who will be beaten right after (by a Zerg, at that!).

I wouldnt worry about hyuk. Or any of the SKT zergs for that matter. Oz can just send out Killer and well.. KvZ them. Its basically impossible to kill killer in zvz these days.
I'ven't watched a match at 6am in a while, and I'm looking forward to it. Love me some Jaedong. I think its fitting, I derive roughly the same amount of pleasure from each
Considering Oz's zerg line, we might see quite a few great PvZs tonight between Bisu and Sun. I hope Killer does well, I've been loving his play recently. Still, I expect SKT to take this, on the back of Bisu.

Killer is in every retrospect better than soo. Partly of the hate comes from soo knocking out the last oz guy, but you can't deny that killer has been looking hot lately. If killer had not "accidentaly" paused that 2nd set, i would say the likelihood of soo advancing is minimal at most. And killer would have provided a more entertaining fight with jangbi-> hydra/fantasy. Who wouldn't want great games?

SKT1, Oz, KT and Khan having the "Pillars of Esports" players on their teams means they overshadow the rest of the team, but it's still kind of upsetting when a team "fans" only care about that Ace player.

I agree with you that fans should actually support their team as a whole if there are trying to be a true fan but like wise not many are that I initially started supporting kt through flash but than change to become a kt fan's as a whole . As i started to get more acquainted with them and sharing the up's and down with my team and yes now I could say I am much more proud to be of kt as a whole rather than Kt Flash only .

2nd gate for Sun, only one for Shy Shy has an earlier cores, but isn't spinning Zealot chases out the scouting probe Core starts to spin, but cancels? Shy is taking his nat
Three goons and a zealot are making their way towards Shy's nat one cannon almost warped in gets sniped! Shy is going for quick DT's but the lack of range is making this engagement in Sun's favor Sun is also getting obs, one DT is out, gets a goon, bit Sun is microing away 2 DT's out, looks like Shy lost quite a few probes Observer out for Sun
More goons coming out for Sun as he retreats his goons
observer meets with goons and the DT takes a few shots before disappearing into the darkness
it's not DTs vs Goons! goons being microed, sun still losing a few goons but the DTs are all dead! No defense at the natural! probes running once more!
Two Dt's left to defend the expo, Three go down, for two goons, 2 gates being thrown down by Shy, and range is being researched Three goons are left in Shy's main, but pull out to attack the nat nexus Sun is expanding while pressuring, and takes out the nexus!
Goons focus down Shy's natural, I can hear some clapping but it's meek
probes pulled to help the goons fight off Sun's attack! but sun's micro is decent and he's taking out the goons and the probes! more goons entering into the main! shy's in so much trouble
Probes being used with two goons, to try and kill off Sun's in the main, Probes to the slaughter, reinforcing goons should seal this If Anytime was sent out instead Shuttle reaver is out, GG from Shy

IMO Sun will put up a good show. In fact I wouldn't put it past him to take a game off the dong, though it's extremely unlikely. Don't think it'll be an easy win.
Missed 1st game, but it was sun vs sHy so np. Time for Jaedong to clean this, after sun gets eaten alive i predict Fanta and Bisu to be sent out. And lose.
I think this is a mistake by Oz. Sending out JD this early will give SKT so many chances to snipe him with either coinflipping in ZvZ or sending out Bisu on his preferred map.

Rain knew what he was doing, when he saw the core not spinning right away, he put a second gateway in response (2gate robo can beat both DT and Core-Nexus builds). Not to mention later in the game he was using his probe to check whether or not Dragoon Range was completed for Shy. This wasn't any "blind" build loss, it was Rain totally outplaying Shy
Also that wasn't what Shy was planning to transition into..

I do too but I imagine JD just wants a straight up all kill to prove to everyone + himself that he still is good. There's not much on the line atm so might as well let JD try it.

It's largely a bo loss, sure, but that doesn't mean Rain didn't execute in a pressure situation, which to me is impressive. Ofc I'm a SKT fan so a certain degree of bias is expected
Sun using his probe to harass Lings are popping JD's nat hatch is morphing in 2 cannons are in the making at Sun's nat, aswell as the Nexus warping in JD taking 7 nat as his 3rd expo Cannons are up, Sun taking his gas Probe is going to scout 7 nat JD is taking 7 main aswell!
Four hatch before gas Core is just finishing now Probe trying to poke back into JD's main and nat Womanlot moving out, looks like its heading towards 7 nat, Stargate going up for Sun All these families in the audience
4 hatch, no lair, hydra den for JD Stargate is complete for Sun Citadel warping in aswell 3rd cannon placed at the wall Hydras starting to stream out 2 more cannons, 5 total No lair for the dong
Archives and 2nd gate warping in for Sun, Hydras shooting away at the gateway 7 cannons total Two sairs poking away at a bunch of OL's Lair morphing at the 7 main Jaedong pushing with his Hydra ling Loses alot of lings and hydras HT are out, storm is most likely researched Sair trying to kill of an OL before it scouts Gets in far enough to catch a gate I think
Jaedong running his hydras in, dodges two storms, and three cannons are left Core is spinning for Sun 4 cannons are left over Spire and fifth hatchery for JD Archon being formed from the HT
DT is out and about for Sun Jaedong moves in and does little damage, snipes the archon! Takes out a cannon aswell DT is unsuccessful with its harass and Sun loses a sair 6 gates for him Oh DT nabs 3 drone kills HT and zealots trying to poke out DT dies at the 7 main +1 for sairs complete Zealots trying to harass, come into a flock of mutas
Mutas net a couple of probe kills over the nat, before sairs force them back All sairs die to mutascourge!! Jaedong <3 Mutas all get taken out by a storm Sun trying to push JD's nat, but arrives a little to early Storm does alot of damage The archon goes down, but the storms are casted on the zealots Lurkers are out! But the single lurker goes down Zealots streaming into the nat
JD too rusty at ZvP? This was only his 2nd ZvP in 3 months. Well played by Sun though. His defense was perfect, holding off not just the initial hydra attack but the follow-up too with just enough units until he got his tech up.
JD more and more trying greedy builds to get an upper hand looks like a veteran who doubts that he's strong enough to challenge a youngster in a straight battle. Ahh JD.

Kpop equilvalent : again and again and again and again....
All we can hope is, that Killer beats Sun, so we can see Bisu or Fantasy vs Killer to get at least a little compensation BUT coach Park never does what the fans wanna see so even if Killer wins we maybe get to see another rookie or a zerg? But we have them yesterday already.

SKT is the best team around, so not a big deal, you have to be on a hot streak riding the momentum to smash SKT, like FLash did. JD Tyrant mode is long gone.

IMO it wasn't a greedy build, it was actually kind of hungry at first and relied on hydra pressure to get some eco off. The problem is he lost more hydra than he wanted while pressuring, which let Sun move out before he could get lurkers to continue the pressure in time. So he made Mutas but then they got nullified by the corsairs that Sun made earlier.
After what happened last week I'm not taking anything for granted. Killer and Hiya have been fantastic recently, so it's not like Oz doesn't have the players capable of achieving the 4 wins they need.

idk man. JD seemed overconfident. He made a round of drones as Sun was moving out because he thought 1 HP mutas could snipe 4 templar for him or he could win the battle enough to let his lurkers defend. Had he just made units he could've stopped that easily.

I still favor his zvt over any terran but yeah...
Yea, this is definitely the lowest point so far in his career. I don't think he's ever lost his invincibility aura before now. Like you said, many teams try to snipe him with Z's and P's which never happened in the past ever. When he had 'slumps' in the past, he still pulled out dominant Bo3/Bo5 wins in MSL/OSL but he's been losing those recently too.
That probe is still alive, no goes down at the ramp Spire morphing in for Killer Forge is spinning, citadel warping in, stargate is up and core is spinning 4th hatch planted at the nat, and Killer taking 9 main
stargate finished, and blinking as it warps in that first sair adun citadel warping in too 4th hatchery placed at Killer's 3rd Killer taking a 4th at 8 o'clock
Sun's core is spinning for that +1 air weaps sair out and targeting a slowlord, 2nd sair joins in and the overlord is no more hydra den morphing in at Killer's 3rd
Sairs take out one OL Scourge, not going to be picking off a sair Robotics is warping in at the nat, as is another gateway Speedlot attack coming towards the 9 oclock, two sunkens force the speedlots back Killer has an evo chamber, and spores up, lots of sairs moving towards the 9 oclock netting an OL Robotics Support bay is in, as is the archives

speedlords arrive in large numbers along with Hydras! SAIRS KILL ALL THE OVERLRODS Spire goes down to DTs!
+1 attack for sairs is complete Shuttle and sairs fly into Killer's main, Two DT's dropped, Hydras starting to be produced for killer Pool and spire get sniped, as well as ALT of OL's
Another overlord arrives and the hydras kill the 2 ninjas

sairs/shuttle head to Killer's 4th reaver is dropped! dud scarab! 2nd scarab is no good either hydras arrive and the shuttle picks up the reaver and ships out
If OZ gets AKed by SUN of all people >< Reaver gets dropped into the 9 oclock Gets a scarab off, but its a dud Queens nest for Killer Ensnare play maybe? Another scarab nets 3 drones Lings trying to do some damage to Sun's mineral only
shuttle heading towards Killer's natural without any sairs Killer has hydras there, reaver dropped! scarab fired! 2 hydras dead, shuttle picks up the reaver and leaves
meanwhile Sun has amassed some zealots, killer has some lurkers with his hydras though and the zealots retreat!
AHHH reaver harassing the 4th once more! a lot of drones dead! the reaver goes down but not before kiling more drones!
Scourge split well, take out all but two sairs Shuttle almost being run into hydras Lurkers are out Shuttle takes alot of hydra shots, but a scarab takes out two hydras and a drone or two Hive morphing for Killer More reaver harass by Sun Reaver dies with atleast 16 kills

Sort of, 4 hatch hydra. Spent a few too many hydras trying suns defenses but transitioned strongly out of it. Took way to much damage on his mutas, lost to two base pre lurker blow from sun
On August 27 2011 18:30 Vivi57 wrote: a single player on skt clapping for sun rain
That was Bisu. The other players didn't seem to understand that Sun was about to win.
I think they knew it, even we knew it. The clapping was more an overall applause for his game. He played really good from the beginning til the end, the great harassment (DT drop, Reaver)!!
Come on Hiya please win. 4 -0 by sun is not what very entertaining..
After so much pre-final talks from JD and the rest, today's performance looks like a mockery. Why can't you be PREPARED and not raped by a single SKT bencher. Damn it OZ! such an unpredictable team.

I didn't expect as much of Sun too, but he totally blew me away, very assured and inspiring play. I'm now rooting for Sun to complete the AK. He has sick PvT too from what I've seen of him.
mbc is disbanding i think because its confirmed in the other thread that MBCGame is changing to a music channel beginning in 2012. i dont know if its fox + mbc + another or just fox + mbc
assimulator goes down but the probe puts up another! marine arrives to kill the probe and is now peppering that warping assim
scv arrives at Sun's main to do some scouting
zealot sent out to Hiya's main 3 marines rush over to defend! 2 marines down!
Hiya putting up a bunker at his natural! another zealot enters! Hiya loses another marine, 2 more and he's micro'ing them hard! zealot gets an scv kill before falling
Hiya trying to get his first factory up while dealing with that lone zealot 4 marines dancing around the zealot, another zealot enters into the main lol
Sun continues to stream zealots into Hiya's base
core finished for Sun, he's getting his 2nd gateway now
factory finished as another zealot appears inside the main, there's 2 now, marines focus down 1 zealot, 1 left! marine scores 3 more marine kills before dying! LOL another zealot enters into the main
1 goon wonders into tank range and eats two shells before retreating
observatory warping meanwhile Hiya adds comsats to his CC and gets an ebay up he's also got his 3rd factory up?
shuttle out! shuttle heads into Hiya's main, zealot dropped! takes tank fire! reaver dropped! gets a tank and a few scvs, continues to do more damage to other tanks, shuttle picks it back up!
another dud scarab fails to hit the tank! shuttle takes some damage from turrets and a marine
shuttle now at the natural! turrets take down the shuttle with the reaver inside
adun warping in along with 2 more gates (4), sun getting his 3rd at 2 o'clock
Hiya adding turrets close to the tanks as he inches forward into Sun's main
sun retaliating with his shuttle, reaver dropped inside Hiya's main, it's taking down turrets Hiya sieging up a few tanks inside the main vultures arrive to defend also
AHHHHH scarab fails to hit scvs!
sun looking to break out, he's got a lot of zealots mine daebak helps kill some tanks, zealots and goons clean up the rest
sun breaks out of the contain, dragoons killing the turrets now
vultures engaging with dragoons for a bit, they take out 1 or 2 zealots
Hiya finally getting his 3rd online now Sun continues to clear out mines
vultures engaging once more into the protoss ball, few vulturse lost
meanwhile 2 zealots and 2 goons attack hiya's 3rd, only a tank there defending, scvs pulled to help fend off the small attack goliaths snipe a shuttle leaving the reaver without transportation
Hiya moving out with tanks/goliaths/vultures, he's a large army. goilath holding off that arbiter. a few of sun's bases mining out also
Hiya with another batch of vultures out
observer sacrifices itself to peek into Hiya's main stasis goes off over some tanks, another stasis all tanks are stasis'ed except one protoss ball moves in and takes out the goliaths and vultures more tanks arrive, but Hiya's being overrun atm!
all tanks are down! protoss ball marches into the natural

He attempted to hydra bust sun constantly and failed, in the end sun moved out with quite the HT zealot force, he was probably attempting a templar snipe with his mutas but they were all deep in the red and a psi storm picked all of them off, sun moved in got some more storms on the hydras defending his base and was overrun.
Grats to sun for his AK, but this was a pretty depressing finals to watch. Damn everybody knows that Oz can do better than that, it's just so sad it had to end like this.
Hiya had this game in his pocket wtf. He killed Sun Nat, and sun just had his 3rd up while Hiya had his 3rd running.... wtf went wrong i dont get it.....
I don't know why i liquibet skt and should be happy with the win but deep inside me I wanted hwazeung to at least put up a fight T_T . What's happening in the hwazeung house for them to play like this ?

Its so sad, that I accidentally laughed a bit... I remember the times when SKT sweated to get rid of JD with all their team, those were the times, now OZ is barely trying to kill some bencher. (SKT indeed is a great team). ...I wonder what will Sun say in an interview. How he is happy, that he was confident, how he will try to deliver for the team, blabla (but remain some middle class for the rest of his career). The thing is almost any SKT player is very very solid, there no punchbags except for Huyk (hello JD). And to beat such a strong team one need a Flash, or just another solid team. OZ was once a JD OZ, but never a strong team, now when JD is taking his rest, OZ is being ??? Shame on you, you deserve it, damn it.

As long as its Cambodian breast milk it`s all good.
I am so sad. well done Sun, he played well. But I can't help but feel a little empty inside. Oz squandered the opportunity, not just for the win, but for some dignity to go down fighting. Not even a single win.
What? I thought that STX masters is without price money, then I don't get why teams are not taking this serious. Maybe it is not the most important tournament but it is a nice tournament though.

Nah, don't think too much about it. It was already reported on some Korean message boards several days ago, about the music channel PDs being roped in from Mnet etc.

MSL group ceremony is in October, so we only have OSL till PL starts up again, if it even starts up again.

But what does it all mean? does that mean they got the green light from KCC? I mean why would they start recruiting PDs if they weren't going through with the music channel? When I think of all the commentators/staff that might lose their jobs because of this change it really brings down my mood. and what about the Heroes? so many questions remain unanswered
my only consolation is that SKT won tonight.

MBC players are still living in the MBC hostel, I suppose that's some consolation. I think the team is looking for a new sponsor, just my guess.
Yes, it sucks that so many people who worked hard to bring us great esports entertainment over the years may now find themselves jobless.
3 years, 3 all kills. Way to go SKT. Take out your frustration from SPL onto the STX cup XD But in order for By.Sun to beat Jaedong and all-kill the rest of Oz...he must have gotten better. Either that or he's gonna burn out like Hyuk (which I hope doesn't happen D=)

The first game against Shy Sun just had a build order win. Jaedong used a 4 Hatchery before gas build against Sun. Since Sun knew how to adapt to the build he was at a significant advantage. This is because 4 hatch into gas isn't an optimal opener unless it can catch the opponent off guard. Then Sun copied 2 of Bisu's builds in the last two games, and won. Hiya also played horribly in his game.

All-killing in STX Master's Cup isn't really a good indicator of skill. Hyuk all-killed in 2009 and he still kind of sucks. Flying also all-killed in 2009 and his overall win rate is below 40%. That being said Sun deserves credit for playing fairly well (although all the Oz players did screw up pretty badly).
After Jaedong lost, morale on OZ bench was pretty bad. Sun said that he didn't believe he can all kill, but after defeating Jaedong, he felt confident taking on remaining OZ players.
Bleh... im so disappointed about this final, was waiting so much for it, wanted to see great games and some nice rapes by terrans and what i got? such a noname protoss making 4-0 OHH
anyway gg, skt deserves it if we look on the whole season

Taking down the opposing team's ace player would do that for you.. especially when it's a shallow team like OZ that only has JD (yes I know killer has been on fire recently)
that being said, I'm really disappointed with this outcome and I expected more from OZ

Hahaha, it's a curse!!!
All-Killing in STX Cup forever turns you into the player who constantly loses the games they are winning!
Except when you Hyuk yourself, everyone knows it means that you basically had the game won but then you lost it cause you're...well, Hyuking Hyuk.
But what are we gonna say when Sun throws his games? He's Sunning? Doesn't have the same ring to it. TT
We can do a taek yoon/taek shin kind of thing. When he does a successful storm drop we scream "YEA SUN!!", and when he runs goons into mines we scream, " WHAT ARE YOU DOING RAIN!!"
jaedong sometimes go so stubborn like that game he tried to kill sea with all muta when he had the game won and sea just turtled till he had vessels T_T

Yeah seriously, I think that as long as you let your ego go away, scout properly, adapt to situations and think of ways not to lose and keep the advantage till the very end, you can probably get into places. JD usually manages to clean things up with his mechanics....but now everyone have caught up.
I'm just going to conspiracy theory this and say the reason Oz got demolished was due to them knowing about the disbandment and being understandably bummed out about it.
Yeah, that makes more sense than Sun being better than the entirety of Oz.

I don't know. If I were playing for OZ, I'd want to win because it might possibly be my last game with OZ, my original team, before being forcefully split up.

It's a not a question of motivation, I'm sure they wanted to win, I just think they were distracted and if you can't bring 100% focus to a game of StarCraft, winning becomes difficult. It's the same reason why a lot of noobs suck, they're stressed out and worried about losing and make more mistakes as a result. Kind of ironic, really.
Other factors are being afraid of the opponent (playing against Flash, Bisu or JD), being sick (harder to concentrate with a fever) or uncomfortable (Flash's pre-game ruler antics, cold in the booth) etc.
