But yes, Terran will never go back to being the underdog race again haha, there has indeed been far too many terran bonjwas to be "underdog"

No, the average SC2 GSL thread is probably longer.
BW-wise, I believe Korean Air OSL S1 and Power Outage MSL might have it beat.
edit-- Hmm, nope, this is bigger than both of those. May very well be the longest BW tournament thread ever.

The VODs for this final are already up.
Unfortunately, I don't think there are any english casts up yes.

Fair enough. It's also, obviously, smaller than ongoing superthreads like Funny Pics, Automated Banlist etc.

Goes to show how imba Flash is. Practically have to win 4 out of 5 games.
Haven't had a chance to watch the matches yet, but it seems that SKT zergs choked and Action got his face stomped for the twentieth time. Nice to see Hoejja doing well. Oldboy fandom ftw!
I agree that, given Best's current state (0 for 2 with tons of practice time when Flash's wrist is injured to the point of getting surgery), Fantasy seems like he would've been a better pick for Ace. Bisu's on fire, but I'd say still at a disadvantage against Flash (he'd probably end up trying to go carriers anyway).
Well done to KT. It wasn't an easy road this season, but they showed once again why KT is such a dominant team.

Just cant handle kt Best probally would benefit from leaving his team in the way Midas (last year) and Sun this year.
A new environment can do wonders from players with potential (even if it's potential of old, I mean, Best PvP died when he lost to stork, his PvZ died when he lost to July (I mean, he beat Luxury in a bo5 prior to getting thrased by July) and wouldnt suprise me if his PvT has taken a good beating after yesterday..

it always surprises me how many "pundits" there are in a skt thread who claim to know more than anybody else...
1. The proleague finals is not a popularity contest. Just because some people want to see player X be the ace doesn't mean that he should be the ace.
2. Bisu has shown that he is probably the best player to execute a prepared snipe build especially on CB which should not have been too much trouble to him. That, along with Best's apprehension at being the ace, leads me to suspect Bisu was not previously chosen to specifically be the answer to Flash. If Bisu had prepared something special, then he would have (or could've) asked to be sent out if Best was uneasy. This he <probably> did not.
It would appear that both Bisu and the coach thought that Best was still the man for the job. And believe me, the SKT coach is paid to know who to send out when.

I enjoyed the finals. Of course my inner fanboy was a bit disappointed with the result, but it was fun nonetheless.
I was happy see Fantasy playing well and Bisu staying sharp. I look forward to more of Sun/Rain's games next season. He has really grown! Although BeSt lost twice, I am glad that he enjoys the trust and confidence of the coach, even after his rather mediocre season. I feel sad for S2 and soO. They performed quite well for long stretches of the season, but didn't quite manage to make it count. I hope they won't be discouraged.
I find Hoejja's (out of nowhere!) and Stat's miraculous form in the Playoffs quite intriguing. I know Stats has it in him to win a Starleague and a Protoss champion would be nice. Flash, well, Flash... Let's just say that I look forward to the moment when some Protoss manages to up his game enough to take Flash down in a Bo5.

They don't need to trade, they "just" need to outbid KT for a new contract which isn't going to happen because T1 is the only team that perhaps has more money than KT and there's a gentlemen's agreement between teams to prevent this from happening (see: nobody bidding for Jaedong two years ago)

I thought the purchasing team had to pay the other team 3 times the player's salary in order for a trade to go through. I thought this was the driving force behind why JD didn't get bougt.

What about the players themselves? Do they have some saying whether they wanted to be traded or not? Because I can't imagine Flash going voluntarily to another club, even if they offered him more money.

Free agency means the players themselves are supposed to have all the freedom in the world -- they can choose any contract they want and join that team. The problem is, Kespa has everyone under restricted free agency, so that signing a free agent forces the purchasing team to compensate the former team. In actuality, this kind of stuff is seen as slave-like removal of player's rights in other sports, but Korea is pretty conservative and BW is very young, and all of their players are similarly young so there's no one willing to fight for player's rights (as it would endanger the already fragile "sport")
