I know fans wanted to see Bisu in the ace match but honestly BeSt probably had the best chance of winning. The SKT coaches clearly know what they're doing as evidenced by the almost entirely favorable matchups and they thought that BeSt was the better choice. A real SKT fan would know that winning is more important than merely pleasing fans by sending out the poster boy. For anyone who thinks that Bisu would have done better if he had practiced for ace instead of BeSt, realize that beating scrubs in regular season matches doesn't automatically make one good at taking down the best player in the world with preparation. If Bisu could fare well against a Flash with preparation then he probably wouldn't be dropping out of individual leagues like a fly either. On the other hand, BeSt's macro style gives him an edge over Flash's defensive style, and combined with his recent ability to beat Flash, especially on Circuit Breaker, make him the best choice for ace. The SKT coaches realized this and the fans should too.

It's funny that before the matches SKT fans were gloating that BeSt could beat Flash but now won't stop whining about not sending out Bisu.

I did think that Bisu is better choice than BeSt because of the overall greater consistency of Bisu, and the fact that he has the experience of winning when the bets are high. BeSt has shown impressive victories vs. Flash this season, but he had failed so many times this season against Terran players in general. Bisu would be in a more "clutch" form imho. He was the one who would stand the best chance imo.

love flash's build in that ace match, you can macro all you want, but if you can't deal with the 3-2, nearly maxed Terran mechball, then, well it's game over anyway.

I don't buy all this stuff about BeSt being the best bet, or even any kind of serious bet against Flash. I think he is an overrated and one-dimensional player. The H2H records are so insignificant to conclude anything. I don't even buy the idea that BeSt's "style" is good against Flash. People bring up that he beat Flash in macro games, but that's only half the story. He beat Flash in games where he was allowed to cheat on expos and get 6-7 bases and 30 gateways while Flash sat on 3.

Guys sometimes get wins against Flash as they do against Bisu and Jaedong and every other player that has ever played. You can't use these few games to justify anything. BeSt is so invariable in his play that he played exactly as he has always played even though he had a month to practice against one player on one map.

You're going to play that player instead of the best protoss ever, who's had a record breaking PL season, and is currently in great form? Hell, if I were SKT, I would much rather have Fantasy in there if not Bisu.

The whole BeSt vs. Flash "rivalry" has always been a crock, and BeSt hasn't been an A-class player for almost three years (and even then he was overrated as an S-class).

Edit: I also want to point out he's out of the last OSL in the prelims courtesy of (T)

Major, and he was kicked out of the last two MBC survivors partly because of (T)

Classic. This is your best bet for the ace match?

I've noticed a couple of pages back where people were complaining Bisu not asking to be sent out. Can someone please tell me how did these people came to this conclusion? Did they manage to catch something in the VOD that I've missed?

Huh? Overgas can't put any kind of ling pressure on at all early unless you overgas9pool and upgrade lair and speed immediately before starting ling production. (see great vs jd on fortress as an example) Even if Hoejja had hatched at nat and S2 saw it, there was nothing S2 could do about it as all he can do is be passive and hold his choke at beginning since he is skipping speed for earlier second hat and focusing all gas and larva to be used on muta/scourge.

A lot of those are after the thing was already over, as just a few hours earlier SKT was up about 10 votes. Guessing some people just voted to make it even after the fact.

He's a free agent because his contract expired. KT will obviously sign him to a very lucrative deal. Every player who doesn't get cut eventually becomes a free agent.
