Group D should be really fun to watch, although a little sad that Flash/JD/Bisu are going to destroy each other in group stages lol

Is that for real? I missed the stream yesterday....and Im now shocked...JD/Flash/Bisu in the same group?! :O wtf?! wowwowowow....what day is that group being played? I cant miss that no matter what!

Although I really want Flash to advance, of course, I really wish that the two players advancing from grp. D ROFLSTOMPS and humiliates great and hydra. What's the point in winning a tournament if you're not winning vs the best players? Money and hate.

dam that suck.... group D is just a joke :\.. I don't want the big gun to drop out that fast
still.. be ready to have the most viewers of all time for first round

hell i now that i think about i dont care who gets out of group D, i just hope whoever that person is destroys everybody else (especially hydra/great) for getting out of the group

GJ Hydra and Great. Only Flash v Bisu v JD may make me want to watch BW again.

Except Sea.
Actually, it would be even more of an upset if Sea advances.

How is getting 1 game in the group stage preferable to having 3-5 games in the later rounds... I get the necessity for the longer series as you near the championship, but I don't subscribe to the "more games = better games" theory. Seriously? If nothing else, it's at least better in that you get to watch more games between the best players in the world. Yeah... but. I watch BW for entertainment. I've never made it past D- as a player (minus a lucky putting me at D+ until I... played another game) so I don't pretend to be good. I do like to think I understand the basics of the game a little bit, but right now BW is different from "real sports": very rarely are games between the very best entertaining - you need the not-quite-the-best to make things memorable. fantasy vs Jaedong. free vs HiyA. Leta vs Pure. The Bisu vs Iris series I mentioned before. The problem is - as Bisu vs Jaedong from WL playoffs demonstrated - is that games between the very best are only rarely decided by actual fantastic play. Build orders and strategic decisions become paramount because there's no real micro disadvantage or advantage to be gained. Simply put, I'd rather watch HiyA vs Kal in a Bo5 than Flash vs Stork, because we're more likely to get 2 or 3 memorable games out of 2 A class beating each other up than 2 S class with carefully prepared builds leading to (essentially) BO wins. I do acknowledge that you don't get "ee han timing!" or the JD vs fantasy series without two S class... but at the same time I don't mind losing the possibility of those golden moments because the probability of "silver moments" is much higher with slightly worse players. Like I said, this probably isn't a very popular view... but it's how I approach things. ...Your first example of not quite the best players playing is Fantasy vs Jaedong?
fantasy is miles better today than he was in that series. That was old-school "can't micro mnm to save his life" fantasy, forcing him to prepare a unique build for every game. Not that he wasn't very good - but consensus said there was a huge skill gap.

Looks to me that ggameo and Ruby have realistic chances of getting out of their groups. Can't say the same for FBH though.

Instead of them getting eliminated early and robbing us those godlike matchups in later rounds (see. Bisu) this is just perfect opportunity to see who has the best nerves and abilities to pull this off. IIRC, there was a group in OSL which had Bisu, Flash, Stork and July.. this is as epic as that one, if not better. There is nothing epic about a round robin group stage with all the bosses when compared to seeing the three top players struggling through on their own, each in a different group, battling against adversaries in the ro16 and ro8 and then finally duking it out against each other in BO5 semifinals and finals. If the groups were arranged based on ELO, it would be a much more entertaining tournament from spectators POV.

Loooool what a group D :SSSSSSSSSS

hydra made group D a real DEATH group
GJ!

Group D is epic!
It's slightly disappointing to have Flash/Jaedong/Bisu clash this early, but it's not like the players have a duty to provide entertaining games, or try and create the most amazing finals MU.
Hydra and great just tried to knock out the competition early, nothing wrong with that.
