The USA and the EU do not have the infrastructure to support all the potential visitors.





The visa approval process in the USA for China applicants is like a lottery. Several million apply; (I think) only several hundred thousand are granted.

There are a numerous ways the applicants can increase their odds of winning that lottery. The applicant's first priority is to convince the person reviewing the application that they should allow him visit over another.

1. Apply well in advanced (6-12 months) of your visit. This gives you the opportunity to re-file if you application is denied. The more times you try; the more likely you are to win a visa.

2. Find a sponsor family in the USA. Basically the sponsor family sends a letter to the consulate or embassy that says 'we will give the visitor housing and food and take them to their flight at the end of their stay in the USA'.

3. Find a corporate sponsor. A letter from a company like Samsung USA would be great. WCG and WCG USA could also send in letters to let the consulate or embassy know that the visitor will have accomodations, food, and travel taken care of during their stay here, if needed.

4. Ask the SF mayor's office for help. An email or fax from the mayor's office would do wonders for an applicant's application. The mayor's office is very friendly - give them a call.

Even if all that were to happen (and it may have happened) the application may still be denied. Perhaps the applicant has a family member currently in the USA that has overstayed his visa.

None of us know why the application was rejected. It's a shame it was. It's still not too late to try the above.
