Due to the presence of Light, I feel like, sadly, Stars' strong zergs will get shot down pretty fast. Light has hardly blinked in TvZ in his Last 30 games, losing Only 3 (!!!! >90% winrate). Unless Stars can snipe Light with (probably) free, I find it possible Light will go on a rampage. Looking forward to seeing hOn_sin playing again, his repair micro was uniquely monstrous.
infinitestory's predictions, only good for their little entertainment value: + Show Spoiler +
Neo.G_Soulkey < Light Soulkey has been a monster in the all-kill format, perhaps MBC will send Light to make sure he doesn't do much damage free > Light They can't send ZerO, and besides ZerO I think only free has a real chance of taking down Light free < Jaehoon If free doesn't lose, this will be very boring. MBC loves sending Jaehoon at the oddest times, so this could happen
hOn_sin > Jaehoon hOn_sin rolled Movie in Stars vs CJ, so this is no stretch
hOn_sin > Peace he also rolled Hydra
hOn_sin < Sea ...but got rolled by A-class Effort. Sea will likely outplay his fellow Terran. (Sea also 2-0'd hOn_sin out of the OSL prelims)
ZerO < Sea Sadly, ZerO is left as Stars' best chance to take down Sea. Even with Sea losing recently in TvZ, his opponents have been relatively strong while ZerO has only beaten some mediocre Terrans.
i'd get a player to train a free sniping build, then start out with sea, who i think could only be beaten by free, then if free does defeat him, send out the sniper who would probably lose the next game then mop up with light
free is the most rounded player right now from both groups unless sea can get out from the mind fuck he got yesterday free's pvt vs sea's tvp that will be the name of the match with side kicks like zero's zvt and zvp and lights tvz this is where good coaching shows its strength
Game 1: < Polaris Rhapsody > Game 2: < Grand Line SE > Game 3: < Fortress > Game 4: < Match Point > Game 5: < Soul of Fighter > Game 6: < Judgment Day > Game 7: < Polaris Rhapsody >
Light going to all kill. This is Winner's League, the man is a machine at it. As soon as Free is out of the picture, MBC has pretty much won assuming he doesn't take down Light. I don't see Sea achieving anything since he'd probably end up having trouble with Zero, Soulkey or any of the protosses.

Oh btw, this is the "timing window" everyone is mentioning against mech. Well Soulkey only has to battle through more than two control groups of MnM and valks to hit it. Edit: and mines. Ouch.

It's almost like one of the best TvZers has dominated the early game and has taken a big lead.
Sorry zergs that you aren't guaranteed a win once you get 4-gas now.

Well I'm wondering why Soulkey's defileres were so late. That definitely would've helped. Now we just need a solution once Terran gets 4 gas.

Now he does, when it's Left vs Right terran has more space to cover so SK exploits Sea's split army and wins on both the top and bottom fight. Now he's getting pushed back.

SK TERRAN IS THE SAME THING AS 1FACT 1PORT VALKYRIE.
But.....admittedly it still ended up in the same economic situation. Sea shouldn't've have tried to take his 5th and 6th so early though. Exposed himself to the cows by trying to take the center. SK played very well throughout.
Awesome play by Soulkey. A new Zerg who's ZvT is on par with his ZvP, I'M A FAN!!!!!!!
Unfortunately Light's coming up next, and I think he's gonna eat soulkey alive.
Btw why does light of all people have so many fan girls? He's not an exceptional player and he's pretty average looking. I'm not bashing the guy, just legitimately curious
Yesss, that's one of the crucial ways to beat mech play. You gotta do it the same way protoss does -- outexpand and then use specific anti-tank tactics to crush them, like using "drops" to engage tanks directly akin to zealot bombing (only zerg gets ultras and comes fit with 50 shuttles) and using superior spells to weaken the terran right before conflict (Stasis and Storm are probably a bit better than swarm and plague because Arbiters fly and storm can actually kill the tanks unlike plague, but plague does make them WAY more vulnerable to the aforementioned drop).

they should at least make the playoffs next year. 2nd in dream league means they have some good young players. as long as hon_sin and soulkey don't fizzle they'll have enough depth to get to the post-season.

soulkey was very smart (and sea was rather careless) to keep making sea lose his tanks and not get that crucial number of tanks required to decimate everything before they reach the tanks. sea needed more mines and goliaths to snipe those overlords before the ultras could be dropped on the tanks.

Something to the sentiment that if a terran played that type of mech transition and executed it well, they were virtually impossible to defeat.
But here we can see SoulKey going like 'nah fuck you nigga'

The last 4 interviews he's mentioned it. Before facing jaedong: "On a balanced map, Terran has the advantage over zerg" "Terran can get away with some errors due to the races innate fraudulence" After beating JAedong: "Zerg can't win if Terran handles the strategy properly" "I feel like I must always win when I face Zerg"

I don't see it as arrogance though; he's attributing his success to Terran's advantage in the matchup rather than his own skill

well nothing is "impossible to beat", but it sure is one of the strongest late-game transition there is. but, as with all builds/transition, it'll be a matter of time before it's solved.

People stating that Sea's comments were out of line and arrogant - nah, he was just the only one willing to state that there was an imbalance for the time being, like he said as long as the T does it right it's unbeatable - sea was sloppy this time around that's why he lost and all that jazz.

don't understand the overaggression by han here, he could have gotten to equal base count while playing a bit more defensively and hold the center of map, from which he could then follow up by denying all possible expos and get reavers.

He had problems securing a 3rd base.
he had a decent army with HTs, he could have safely gotten cannons up at third before pushing out to harass the 3rd, but neh, idk what he was thinking.

Late game (3+ base) hive tech has been standard since forever --- it just doesn't come up that often. What I'm hoping is that 2-base hive/queen tech will prove viable, because that would turn ZvZ on its head.
Jaedong vs Yellow was the best ZvZ I've ever seen. Burrowed defilers plague-sniping muta flocks? Awesome.

Thus the game is decided mainly by who is the superior player of the game. They play with their pride on the line, and it just makes the whole thing so much more enjoyable.
I like players who are the best at the game, though they are not neccessarily the best at winning the game. I believe that Zero has been one of the best in the scene for quite some time now.

agreed. I lump Zero together with Calm and Effort. 삼국지style yoo
장비 - Effort : straight up best player amongst the 3 거누 - Calm : more brains than brawn. even though he has the latter 유비 - Zero : calm collected by the book and dangerous
I really wish I had the capacity to categorize some of the top zerg players today. I'd have to rewatch so many games, watch games I haven't seen, spend time analyzing, asking the opinions of those who read the game better than I do. It's a shame because there are some very skilled zerg gamers out there with different approaches to the game, and it would be so interesting to actually delve deeper into the characteristics of these gamers.
I'm not sure if this is accurate, but this is the overall feeling I get from the three players.
Zero: Very crisp unit management. Overpowers his enemy. Concentrates more on perfecting his play, and thus often gets caught off-guard. Effort: Great unit movement. Often walks on a knife-edge to exploit enemy weaknesses. Calm: I don't like him as much as the other two. He is better at winning than he is at the game.

Good play by Zero but meh, he had a pretty big back in september and october (8-1 in round 1 of proleague) then just kinda fizzled out. I'd like to see some more consistency first, and in leagues that matter.
