That doesn't make any sense at all lololol. Why would anyone just post random bracket images with scores, lol. Especially considering none of the other broadcasts did that. It doesn't make any logical sense.

That was just a really dumb excuse. It would have been better for TL admins to be like "woops we made a mistake, sorry about that folks" instead of coming up with that really lame excuse.

I mean, it's perfectly normal for tournaments to post random images of results just to fuck with the fans! Imagine if the world cup did that :p

What they were trying to do was cultivate some doubt so that the viewers could rationalize believing the spoiled results weren't real. They weren't suggesting that they stuck random images in, but that one of the pre-generated result bracket images was accidentally put in the slide show.

If even one viewer allowed himself to believe it and enjoyed the games more as a result, it was worth it.

The ends justify the means?

The means didn't hurt anyone so yes.

huh?
Have you been watching or reading the forums, TL has made a public apology everytime a slight delay occurred in the stream and reacted as best as they can in the following situations. They are not paid to do this, they are not professionals, they are doing this out of their own time for your entertainment and they are doing a fantastic job with a fantastic series. TL is one of the greatest communities ever. You will probably get an apology by tomorrow.

Thanks TL + Pokerstrategy for this wonderful tournament.

thank teamliquid and pocketstrategy for runiing this tourney, so interesting

Lol pocketstrategy.

Why are you people whining, are you seriously saying that you would have prefered them to say "YES THE RESULTS WERE 4-2" instead of covering it up and make everyone actually wonder about it. So fucking what if the results actually were 4-2? Were the games less entertaining because the series ended in those numbers? It's not like you knew for sure what the results were, which would've seriously fucked up the viewing experience.

Good job covering it up guys! At least it gave me a little peace of mind.

Neither of those are fair: 1) you confirm the spoilers, or 2) you lie to everyone. IMO the best thing to would have been to say nothing in the thread and afterwards say "Yes, we messed up, sorry." This will probably come anyway.

YES, games are less entertaining when knowing how a series ends or how a game will end. And yes, in games 3, 4, 5, and 6, people who witnessed spoilers knew what the results of the game would be.

Still an awesome tournament though. Good job TL and Pokerstrategy!

That's a much broader philosophical statement than suits the scope of this conversation. I don't believe a white lie in an attempt to enhance the viewing experience is such a terrible thing.

They never even claimed the results weren't right, all Kennigit said was that they make the group results for every possible outcome.. and that might be true.

Yes, there was, but that's clearly not the "outrage" I'm talking about.

Damn right, I'm getting all tear eyed right now. TeamLiquid gave the ending that BW really deserved to get. Ohhh I love BW and TL, lets hope SC2 can live up to its predecessor.

yea, sorry to sound so negative. I really enjoyed the finals, and the match yesterday as well, and I wasn't spoiled. Following the tsl all the way from the beginning of the ladder stage to the end has been extremely exciting, and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Fair? Fair to whom? TL's prerogative was to provide entertainment. In that interest, the FAIR thing to do was, yes, if a leak happened to patch it up as soon as possible, instead of staring at it in amazement.

Because they reacted like that at least they planted doubt in people's minds, instead of leaving 10 pages of people spamming OMG OMG OMG.

I saw the spoilers. And i've only started thinking about them after game 5 when it became 3-2. At 2-2 it could've gone either way anyway.

As an excuse, it would have made more sense to say that that was just a random prediction that someone made.

Anyhow, this series was by far the best in the whole TSL, and I really enjoyed the tourney overall. The TLnet staff yet again did an excellent job, and the Pokerstrategy fellows were awesome for sponsoring this.

I have nothing to complain about, great work I love TL!
