Such a great series…I'm only disappointed that Mondi let that zeal-archon attack surprise him in the 6set.
Go TSL, what a fantastic tourney. Thank you organizers, casters, and players!

Everything was set up perfectly. I had run through all the videos with R1CH watching, we had soundchecked early, were ready in perfect time. Cheerful video is running, music is playing and I switch to the Probe intro to start the cast. Probe intro ends, I switch to the NonY vs Mondi screen and sound on stream for absolutely no reason at all is gone. I start getting mad, because the stream gods apparently hate us (or we really should have sacrificed GTR over a fire!). Restarting Wirecast (and thus restarting the stream) instantly fixes the sound problem. We decide not to use the Probe video again, because we think it's what made the sound crash (despite it working perfectly in earlier casts and during the test before today's cast as well). I thus remove the Probe video from the Wirecast video list. Since it was one of the first ones in my list everything else moves up one slot. The stream is restarted with the Nony vs Mondi screen on. I want to switch to the Cheerful video again, but everything has moved up one slot the bracket video is now in the slot the cheerful video was in before. Visual memory is a bitch, so I run it, instantly recognizing my mistake. I yell at R1CH to take the stream down instantly, but alas it's too late, the data has already been processed by the streaming server. Most people were still reconnecting at that time though, so only a minority caught a glimpse of it. The reason posts were deleted and Kennigit posted earlier in this thread was not to hide anything, but to avoid spoilers for the majority who had not yet reconnected. Users mentioning it in this thread over and over again while the cast was still going only made it worse (risk of spoiling to the mahority that didnt see it). I don't think anyone outside the people involved realize the fragility of our streaming environment, obs, casters & tech crew spread all over the world. Nor does anyone understand the pressure when stuff suddenly goes wrong for no good reason (I still don't understand why Wirecast decided to crash the sound after the Probe vid....) at all with thousands of people watching. If anyone is mad they got spoiled put yourself in my shoes, thanks.

the games are pre-played... ![]() edit: well it was a mistake. just happened to happen in a very bad time! right before the finals of big tournament =( This is why those things should be done after the cast. not before =D

It does suck it had to be at the finals but can't do anything about it and we had some great games to pay up for it.

So it really doesn't matter to much and I don't give a fuck, I think the TLstaff lived up to it's reputation once again, and this tourney was such a spectacular source of entertainment for all, all for free! Thank you TLnet.

Yea I really don't understand why some people would want to spoil it for those who didn't see that screen, which lasted like 1 second. I thought TL members were better than that. One slip up and people jump all over it screaming "omg" making it 100x worse. I mean really, are you that desperate for attention on the forums?

Prepare for the worst. it is probably a bad idea to respond to this given my position here, but i really would like to point out to everyone in this thread the gall and sense of entitlement required for this guy to make this post yes we aim to deliver the best product, etc but shit happens. i'm not trying to play the 'look how much effort we put in' card but is the first response you have to his post REALLY 'Ehh, no apology?' how sickening, and still look how humbly and gracefully carnac responds. we are not looking for asskissing or gratitude or praise, but at least be a decent person okay?

The spoiler thing is another matter, but that is as much a fault of the community as the people running the event. It is completely ridiculous that people posted what the results said, even in spoilers. Amazing event. Can't thank everybody involved enough.

Then we got some goofy cover up excuse "we generate a bunch of random bracket images" ... WHAT? That doesn't make any sense at all lololol. Why would anyone just post random bracket images with scores, lol. Especially considering none of the other broadcasts did that. It doesn't make any logical sense. That was just a really dumb excuse. It would have been better for TL admins to be like "woops we made a mistake, sorry about that folks" instead of coming up with that really lame excuse. I mean, it's perfectly normal for tournaments to post random images of results just to fuck with the fans! Imagine if the world cup did that :p What they were trying to do was cultivate some doubt so that the viewers could rationalize believing the spoiled results weren't real. They weren't suggesting that they stuck random images in, but that one of the pre-generated result bracket images was accidentally put in the slide show. If even one viewer allowed himself to believe it and enjoyed the games more as a result, it was worth it. The ends justify the means? That's a much broader philosophical statement than suits the scope of this conversation. I don't believe a white lie in an attempt to enhance the viewing experience is such a terrible thing. Bertrand Russell talks about how morals and happiness are NOT mutually exclusive. Christians and many religions seem to think otherwise which is why lies in any shape and form is looked so down upon when in reality lies to me should be seen as more of a cost-benefit sort of thing. In this situation the cost of telling the truth would've been detrimental to the rest of the cast. Ignoring it wouldn't be good either because many people were talking about it and ignoring it might have been suspicious. Lying isn't great either because there wasn't really much you could say that could make the cast as good as it could've been had nobody seen that but i think it was probably the best out of the three options they could've done...
