Hi, Im Elmer, I love playing broodwar with my friends on LAN. I can play all races but with my TvP, im really having trouble with my Protoss opponent producing only zealots.We dont use air units (our agreement on every game).My question would be... How do i counter this all zealot attacks.What land units best counters zealot attacks?Good number of goolies and vults and tanks?

Yeah mass vulture should be able to win easily against them especially with micro also you can own them with mines. You need tanks to beat dragoon and vulture to beat his zelot.

Firebat medic is the easiest counter at lower levels :p But yeah, standard response is vultures, with patrol micro. Take a look at this:

If this is really low level play than even mnms will counter zealots in sufficient numbers, though mixing in some firebats always helps.

But yeah if you are expecting him to actually be able to adapt to your unit composition than vultures are a much more solid counter to pure zealots.

It really depends if they are killing you early or if you are losing an engagement when they have like a whole control group of zealots. Either way it's all about scouting the build, if it's an early zealot rush just keep marines on a ramp or block your choke with buildings, if you are losing to mass zealots just wait till you have enough mnms to basically be able to evaporate all his zealots before they can even kill anything before you move out, or harass their mineral lines with vultures.

Vultures and maybe 1 bunker, block your choke/nat with barracks or depots. Mines everywhere.
Yea that looks just like Kang Min... amazing game sense... and uses mind games well, but has the micro of a washed up progamer.

Mass vulture or marine medic firebat. Go upgrade heavy. Build bunkers. Don't build any tanks or goliaths, why would you need them?

Your response depends on how many zealots there are. Generally, you want to get vultures + mines, as zealots in any quantity get torn apart by mines and vultures. If you want to take a more aggressive approach; defend with mines (closer to his base) and vultures while building barracks and making an army of medic, marines, and fire bats.

If your main has a ramp you could try a cheap trick - put an scv or 2 on the ramp, marines behind, select the whole group and press hold position. With luck and no micro on your opponents' side the zealots will keep trying to attack your marines but can't get past the scvs.

You could just wall and attack with some mnm before speed.
No way they can hold off an early mnm group without ranged goons.
WeMade FOX would be a deadly SC2 team.

Um... pick up a map with ramp entrance and block it with supply supply barrack?
Liquidpedia shows how to block entrance for many popular maps.
Zealot blocked by buildings are instant fail. After blocking, you can make marines or vultures and have 3~4 scv repair.
There is a reason why toss don't use zealots against terran early on.

Wall off your ramp -> A-move a control group of vultures -> Get that trollface.jpg mask ready. You could patrol micro if you feel like trying.

But seriously, the standard response is vultures. After even just 4 or 5, you can get siege mode and get tanks for defense.

Thanks for the responses.Im just a low level player.Playing broodwar with my friends for fun on LAN. When we play, we go random, no air units to be used and when it turns out that my race is Terran and the opponent is Protoss, the protoss player strategy is all zealot unit composition.Generally all zealots and less goons or dts.Anyways, thanks Ill try all your advises when I play with them.Hehe.Cheers

Of course, if he is going for pure zealots, you can just mine everywhere and get free kills on his zealots. Assuming he does get a few dragoons and observers to clear out mines, just try to make a zealotproof walls and abuse his lack of many dragoons with vultures if he hasn't made cannons around his minerals. If you can't harass him, just cover the map with mines, as clearing mines with only a few dragoons are a huge pain the ass. Tanks are surprisingly effective vs zealots in the late game (with a lot of upgrades) if the zealots are clumped together, the tanks well spread, and having vultures tanking against zealots.
EDIT: I realize this is low level play, so the problem is probably with your macro. Ignore what I just said, and simply make a lot of vultures and use spider mines often. Have fun at those LAN parties

2 gate zealot is a all-in build. Vultures with mines are really cost effective against them, and you will win easily by doing a counter attack, if he overinvests in zealots.

If you scout a 2 gate without a cybernetics core, I would recommend that you build a bunker in your main immediately. It's only a small investment, and it makes you completely safe.

If he breaks through your defence, only firebats will save you. Stim firebat medic mutilates pure zealots much harder than pure vultures. Once the protoss gets reavers or high templar though bio becomes useless, so tank vulture is a better choice.

As for wallins, keep a few scvs in a hotkey so right when the zealots start attacking your depot, you can order them to repair it.
