It's a sweet build and it's really hard lol. I'm actually looking for ones vs FD/SeigeExpo/VultFe but thanks
Probably try looking for everything on HBR and Bloody ridge. Carriers were really popular on those maps.

Thanks very much. Appreciate the help!

What´s a good build / opening for pvp if you want to go for a macro style game with goons (2 or 3g?), obs if you must, exp when you can?
(I'm t/r 2v2 player.)

Hoejja played a very interesting game with more or less only lings, queens and defilers. I couldn't find any info on his build under the pvz section on liquipedia. So, does anyone know anything about it or is the build a "new" alternative to the 3 base spire into 5 hatch hydra? Any info/experience on the build is appreciated!

I've been trying to search for an answer to this question and it might seem dumb.. But I see that the strategy in SC2 is much more about momentum and getting ahead. What is the strategy in BW? I've read the TL beginners reference and couldn't seem to find anything that summed up the strategy in BW effectively. Or maybe I did read it, but I didn't realize that it was the answer I was looking for? idk.

Any info/experience on the build is appreciated! Are you talking about hoejja vs best on EC? All hoejja did was get super greedy and tech to hive ridiculously fast while best just sat in his base (and din't scout with his sairs for whatever reason) when he finally did move out, crack was done, and there was no way he could win an engagement. If best had scouted, or just attacked at the normal times fro protoss, hoejja would have probably lost.
If you aren't talking about that game, you should post the vod, because you wen't very specific as to what he did.

The way you phrased that question makes it REALLY hard not to shit on SC2. You can't summarize all of BW into one sentence. The "get ahead and after that, get more ahead" mentality has a place, and sometimes that's the right way to go. But in SC2 often times the person who is ahead needs to make a major mistake for the other player to make a comeback, so as long as you are always "getting more ahead," you will win. In BW it's a lot less clear. There are games where one player can be down by a vast amount, and people are calling for the gg, but he keeps plunging away anyway. Slowly but surely, people start to realize, "hey, he's doing rather well for the situation," then, "holy shit, is he actually winning?" And it didn't all happen because of one big engagement where the player who was winning let half of his army die to storm i the beginning. It's simply because the other guy was a better player, and he kept making small decisions to get him slightly less behind, or engagements that he still lost, but did better than he should have, and killed off enough stuff that he is safe for another few minutes.
I hope it kind of answered your question, but you will never find something that sums up the strategy of BW, because you would need to find something that sums up all of BW. Everything that is in that game, the units, the micro tricks, the maps, apm, the builds, scouting, game sense, are all just tools to be used to execute the particular strategy you want to inflict on your opponent better than he can on you.
If you would like to know how one guy used one race in one matchup to execute one strategy (many tactics, but only one strategy) on one set of maps in one part of his career, I would recomend this: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=226236
And that is part one of three. If you read all three parts of him, and all three parts for every one in the hall of fame (http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=368775) You would have a basic understanding of "strategy in BW".
+ Show Spoiler +(part 1 for savior is the only one written, so don't go looking for non-existent parts for all the others. It was to make a point about how much information you need to get to understand the skeleton of BW)

You cant. It will probably say something like invalid target similar to when trying to mind control a larva.

what is a "geyser trick" or "gas trick"? Is that similar to what Flash did to shine on gladiator with shift mineral click to pass through units except you shift click the geyser instead of a mineral patch? If so why is geyser trick banned and "mineral trick" not? or is it?

With the gas trick you can bypass ramps blocked with units without previously seeing the minerals - with the mineral trick you cannot. Thats why its deemed illegal because it gives an unfair advantage and you cant deny it. What flash did on Gladiator vs Shine was that - he went into the main with his original scv, scouted and while scouting he send another scv on a far location of the map. When his first scv was about to die he right clicked on the minerals with 2nd scv out on the map. That allowed him to scout the lurker all in. I recall that shine's trainer or manager requested post game verification if Flash used the mineral trick which everybody uses or the gas trick which will result in DQ.

As a fan of Fantasy I go for 1 fact starport openings in TVP to harass the protoss while taking my natural. I however don't know the follow up for 1 fact starport (for fighting spirit, since that's the map which 99% of iccup players play). Most protosses usually take their 3rd after fending off my harass
Factories: Should I go for 4 fact 2 workshop, or a 5/6 fact push with 1 workshop? Tech: Since I went for a starport opening, should I go for quick vessels? (Saw Fantasy did that vs Stork in Game 1 of the 2010 OSL finals, I however do find it silly to go vessel vs an arbiterless protoss). Or should I go for double armory turtle?
Also, should I focus more on tank+vulture drops on his 3rd since most tosses pylon wall their 3rd PS:I'm D level btw~
Thanks a lot!

I almost never play drop style so I cannot give you any specific advice on it. However, I would recommend not following up a drop opening with a timing push unless either you have killed many probes with your first harass and you are sure that you can win with it, or your opponent is doing a greedy 2 base tech build with a low gate count. If your opponent is over expoing you can punish this by continuing to harass with drop play and vultures. You can spend the money that you would have spent of facts and extra units, on something that will help you more in the long run like a third base or upgrades.
I would recommend keeping track of your opponents gate count with an academy after you FE. If he is staying low on the gates (1-2) punish him with continued harass... if he expanded (he should have trouble defending with a low number of goons).
If he is making an average/safe number of gates (3/4), I would recommend taking as quick of a third as you believe that you can get away with safely, and using drop play and harass to keep your opponent defensive while you set up the tanks turrets depots and/or mines required to protect it.
If he is making a lot of gates (5/6), just add a few facts, get your upgrades going, and do not take a third until you feel safe.

What is the name of the map that has neutral arbiters on it with invisible eggs and can somebody link me a game where the protoss rushes mind control and controls the arbiter (I heard that this is a lot faster than getting an arbiter yourself).
I believe that you have stasis already on it (?) can somebody confirm.

how does jaedong double muta micro? (or what is the proper way?) is it 1a2a? 1h2h? 3h4h?
|
Around 400 APM is the proper way im afraid But seriously, does any body knows if he used 0p9p or 1 right click 2 right click, cause 1a2a seems to slow and hold position is i think unapplicable ?
|
it was probably 1h2h or 3h4h patrol wouldnt work properly in the situations he used it in, and glaives attacked multiple targets meaning it wasnt right click a click just takes too much time
