#1: Stay away from SC2.

#2: You should see 'How to improve' by ver, it is stickied right in this BW strategy forum.

oh dude the biggest mistake new players tend 2 do is they dont make enough units. this is absolutely huge. trust me as terran, ur eco will give u more than enough to make plenty of units and buildings, just make sure u expand and know how 2 push with mechs and dont forget 2 keep adding units 2 it

oh yeah and hotkey ur comsat as terran. itll help against any race (and extra energy goes to scouting enemy bases, u can do this more often than u think so keep it constant)

like ive said b4 in other threads, i simply dont recommend starting out as terran

omg I can't tell you how many times i've done this, i have (what i think) is enough units to do some damage and i end up getting run over by an army 3 times the size of mine. I'm trying to work on it.

GL with practicing, if you want to practice (I'm no where near good though) just pm me :D

I'd agree if your goal is to start winning as quickly as possible.
If you want to get good at terran as quickly as possible, nothing beats playing and studying terran.

I am same as OP played some SC2 but BW just seems a lot more awesome so I started playing a couple of days ago. So if you want to play add me: [Leper)(Slay] Would be awesome to play someone who might be around the same skill level as me. I am zerg btw.
A game where the first thing you do is scout with a “worker”. Does that make any sense? Who scouts with a “worker”? That’s like sending out the janitor to perform recon, what general would do that? Retarded game.

Hello,

I have played a few games on SC2, but I have seen a lot of VODs of SC1 and BW looks a lot more intresting, and I would like to give it a go. I was wondering if there are any D/D- players on Iccup I can practice with so I can get better, and also any beginner Terran stratergys because I only know about Marine, Medic

Thanks

i'm C- terran and i'd play with u for fun and coaching if you like...

My iCCup accounts are trulla and cW-]trulla

Have fun playing BW.

lolol yeah, as a zerg player, what ud think is enough, like 1 or 2 groups of 12, actually matches up badly against other races with 1-2 12 groups. aside from this little detail, ppl get crushed when vsing their own race because their units is totally inadequate. i will be fighting a zerg player with like what, 10 hydras at his base and a few zerglings and nothing else and i scout him and im like, this would be GG. and theyre like wat? and i throw down my hammer and micro his ass and im left with like 20 hydras and a buttload of zerglings and theyre like oh. GG. of course this no longer happens in ladder for me

see what happens is that new players dont scout. this is a big OOPS. players should always be scouting. second is that because of this. theyre lulled into a false sense of security and theyre flowing with money by now so theyre like wheeee im rich! and another mistake would be they start to tech RANDOMLY like ill be charging in there with my hydra push and theyll have techy stuff like queens nest and spire and hydra den and ONE evo chamber and pool and theyll be getting hive already and therell be like 8 base defenses like 5 sunkens and 3 spores and ill be like WTF NOOB where the hell r ur units? did u bury all of em and they died by suffocation? WTH

and theyll be like...damn u haxor...oh and theyll have only 1 hatchery. the one being upgraded into a hive. it is...extremely sad, to see a zerg player in such a bad condition.

You're making Hydras in ZvZ?

Second, you're letting them live until Hive?

Edit: Them meaning, the opponents.

no that was pretty much exaggerating. seriously, new-ish players will still do dumb stuff like that and its way 2 easy for experienced players to destroy them

sometimes ill make lots of hydras just because im used to using hydras (i know hydras arent very good for a mid game ZvZ) theyre so nice to micro. not weak like marines yet not big like dragoons i know theres ppl who will agree with me on that

It's great to see new ppl undertaking BW in lieu of the unfaithful sequel.

As mentioned previously, being new in BW can be frustrating, but once you overcome the growing pains, it becomes extremely rewarding. Just remember to play more games even if you lose. Watch pro replays and vods, and try to adhere to their ways.

If you lose a game and don't know why, watch the replay and pay attention to your opponent.

Never forget to scout!

I wish you luck and fun.

Welcome to the best RTS game man has ever created. As a fellow Terran, I will warn you that Terran is the most mechanically demanding race. It will be frustarting at first, losing to mutas and 2 gate pressure builds but bear through that. Go onto liquidpedia and read he Terran strats. For build orders read Stylish's guide for Terrans here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=86770 this man is the best teacher for Terrans Finally, go have fun don't get too mad when you lose and simply enjoy yourself. Good luck and have fun :D

i think it's actually zerg. ._. Well to play zerg well at least.

to play mech, all you gotta do is sit there, unless you're crawling/pushing. but i may be wrong

I think zerg requires a better ability to read and adapt to your opponent with perfect timing of units/drones. I think terran requires a higher effective apm. I could be wrong as a toss player but that's always been my impression.

Yep that's about right, zerg needs good game sense as in when to make drones and when to make units etc. Terran is the most mechanically demanding race.
