Dropships are my favourite unit in the game. They are great. Look cool, and lots of sexy micro can be done with them. My only problem is I cannot figure out how to do a spread drop.
A spread drop is when you have multiple dropships, lets say, 5-6. Its where your dropships are moving, and all dropping units at the same time, while still moving across the base. Therefor having the units spread throughout the main. I have seen this in many vods. Watching NaDa unload 12 dropships worth of units while the dropships are still moving is amazing.
The only way I can seem to do this is by binding each ship to a key (1,2,3,4,-0) and cycling through them and clicking repetedly on the wire frame pics. This method is sloppy and inconsistant. How do you really do it?

Unload on itself
You can also unload from ALL of your dropships at the same time with only one click - just unload in the center of gravity. ie in the exact center of the group. It's hard, but it can be done  I prefer the safe way.

Yeah, what he means by "center of gravity" or the center of us units can be explained with simple shapes so you get the idea.
Let's say you had two dropships. To drop all at same time, you would click unload directly between them while the dropships are still moving.
If you have three, and they are in triangle formation, click in the center of the triangle while dropships are still moving.
Etc etc but it gets harder as you get more dropships and they aren't in perfect formation. Just go to single player, use cheats, and just practice it.

hmmmm. I think I understand. So thats why NaDa kinda positions his dropships before he unleashes hell. Ok so I form them up, and click unload in the center of them. Is this kinda like a glitch? Im going to go and practice now.

select them all, bind them to a hotkey then press the key twice so that the screen centers then unload in the middle of the screen

there's some way to do positioning for dweb too, and maybe other applications we dont know yet? it's strange, this center of "gravity" thing

you select 5 templars that are spread out, you press on the ground and all templars must be in range of where you click, and it will create a huge psistorm ;o
It's risky though.
Safest way to unload multiple dropships at the same time while they're moving is to press "u" and click on the dropship. Do that with each dropship.

oh d-web will probably not work that well because its range is pretty limited

Stacked storm dosen't do anything, though. (Unless you're talking about it making a huge spread storm.)

dweb is actually the easiest thing to do like that.. all you do is set them up in formation, then target them all on the mini map, and they'll go spread on the map perfectly. You can keep targetting on the minimap to get the spot perfect if you want

spread storm also works if you do it on the minimap instead of on the screen
