This is your 4th MSL finals, how do you feel?
- I thought I would win for the 3rd time last season. Because I was over confidence for a few other reasons I didn’t win. I wasn’t able to attain the gold ring (given to 3 MSL title holders), and dropping out of the race in the top 32 got me to thinking maybe I wasn’t destined to win again. I’m so happy to be in the top 32.
What is your condition like?
- My current condition is good, and it’s been good since the top 16, since then I had this confidence that I would win. I’m in the best condition possible right now.
How are you exactly preparing for the finals?
I’m still practicing for it with my teammates. Recently we haven’t had an individual championship win so the coaching staff has given me much time to practice for it and look after me. Best, IntoTheRainbow, Bul_T, and Mujuk are doing a lot to help me.
This is your very first game with JangBi
- I haven’t played him so I can’t say I’ve got him all figured out. Best is giving me advice since he’s played him. He is helping out a lot.
If you could point out JangBi’s good and the bad points, what would they be?
- I haven’t played him and we don’t practice together so I don’t have much info on him. If I were to tell you from his TV games I think he’s solid, plays safe, and forms good builds. Nothing to really criticize. After I beat him I could tell you better on what his bad points are.
Anything you want to say to him?
- I hope he doesn’t practice too much for it^^. It wouldn’t matter how much he practices anyways because I am going to win it.
SKT1 hasn’t had an individual championship title holder in 2 years and 8 months
- Players that were in the finals recently were good enough to win it, but their true skills didn’t come out. I think that is because it is their first time ever being in it. But for me this is my 4th time so it will be different for me. I’ll win it and turn the team spirit around since it is somewhat down these days because of the poor performance in the pro league.
It’s the first time ever a Protoss could possibly win the title 3 times
- To think of it is somewhat surreal. It has come a lot sooner than later. I’ve had some good luck, and I think God wants me to win it.
This is a great chance for you to have that ring around your finger
- I think the ring is super cool and has much honor and value. I’ve been envious of the people that have already attained the ring. I too will have the ring around my finger soon and show off^^.
Most people say it’s the first game that will decide the outcome of the best out of 5 games
- Yes that will be the case this time around too. I think I have proven that in my games up to this point. I’ve shown you my will very well through my games I think. If I win the first game then I rarely lose the series. That will be the case this time around as well. This is his first finals and if I beat him in the first game the score will be a 3-0 I think. Even if I lose the first game I have much experience on the final stage and I’m mentally well prepared so no problem for me to win it.
Any maps you don’t like?
- Nope. It’s a mirror match up so it basically gets down to who has better basics. The one with the best basic skills will win.
T1 players have been losing a lot when facing the Khan players recently
- Me too^^. But not that much I don’t think, people around me remind me of that fact, I think the games I lost were in the top 4 or big games so it just seems like I’ve lost to them a lot. I have the utmost confidence in beating JangBi.
Are your parents coming?
- Like always yes. I haven’t had the best record in the year 2008, so it must’ve been very hard for them. They’ve been very supportive of me nonetheless. I’ve been feeling very bad about it, but I hope I can fix it this time around and it’s the perfect chance for me to make up for the poor performances from the past. I want them to witness their son winning again.
People say you’ve been upgraded into a better player
- I like to hear that. When I hear it I say to myself `I must be improving` and it makes me feel like the fans are acknowledging me so naturally it makes me feel very good. Comments like that make me want to practice even harder.
To your fans
- I’m sorry about not winning last year, and haven’t shown you great things since then, but you have continuously supported me and I thank you for that. Because of your love, and sometimes tough love is what got me to the finals, I will win the title at GwangOon University and show you the ring around my finger.
Any last words?
- This is my chance, I won’t let you down.
Interesting note from the interview that a T1 member hasn't won an OSL/MSL title in over 2 years. I believe that was with Oov winning his second OSL vs July in 2005 (holy cow!).
Bisu is being very confident. Will this cause him to lose like he did against Mind?!
