While BWAI Gold was a great program, the new BWAILauncher developed by poiuy_qwert far exceeds all previous AI launchers we've built and contains virtually everything our members have built over the course of the BWAIProject history. This new program allows for far greater variety than the previous limited randomness of Racine's Rebels and EntropyII .exes by allowing YOU the user to compile your own combination to suit your playing style. Or perhaps let the "Entropyze" button choose for you!
* Can be played on any map as usual + any SC version. * Standalone program will auto launch SCraft * Several categories to choose from:
EntropyAI = our best non-cheating scripts Racine's Rebels = our best pro scripts BWAIWar = our best AI vs. AI scripts Xtreme = our best Wackydoodle scripts
* BWAI Gold supports any Scraft version including Multiplayer Bnet! * Standalone program. There are no installation files to deal with. * Supports any map including your own!
The mod includes 2 versions that showcase our best Starcraft AI scripts over the project's history. Both versions randomly select from a database of scripts. More randomness = more replayability = more fun!
Racine's Rebels features our best insane AI's. The scripts vary in difficulty and no two will be alike. Be warned however! Some games may be borderline impossible, especially for those new to the experience. Most players will have a difficult time with a single computer opponent, but TL.net seasoned veterans and nut cases might try 1v2 for total chaos.
Entropy II is a non-cheating opponent which some may already have seen at ICCUP. The computer receives no extra money whatsoever and this version is intended for the casual Scraft gamer as well as newcomers. Definitely won’t be much of a challenge for the Tl.net player.
The following scripts have earned a place in BWAI Gold: Adun, Ahzz, Ashara, Avance70, EasyChat, IskatuMesk, Peppe, Racine, Rama, Raynor, QOB, Zbath II, Zelduck, and finally ZONS.
~Thnx to all that have supported this mod.

BWAI Melee Challenge II was built exclusively for BWAI Gold as a fun way to test your mad playing skillz and just impress the hell out of everyone while showing your support! Simply enter your replay data into our replay calculator and presto, it will rate your game! You can post your replay here, there or email it and we’ll find it eventually as well as post it on our ladder. Team Liquid.net players REPRESENT!
AI scripting is entry level modding and its simplistic nature is what makes it so accessible. These scripts were created by everyday Starcraft players with little or possibly no programming experience whatsoever. They simply wanted to have fun rearranging the computer's build orders. So don't expect some mind-boggling computer to "out think" you or present some in depth gaming experience. It isn't going to happen. The SC computer sometimes has a mind of its own and occasionally it has a dud game. If you avoid anti-computer exploits such as peon harass, or other obnoxious strats such as cannon rushes, or proxy builds then the computer will offer a fun challenge.
Tho this is the last update for BWAI in terms of scripting, all is not dead! A small team of programmers lead by Kovarex is working on a project called BWAPI. Unlike scripting, the BWAPI project functions outside the realm of the hardcoded internal Ai engine and will change the way SCraft computers operate. Nothing comes easy, and this is anything but your typical Starcraft "modding" project. If completed, it will deliver the next generation of BWAI and is guaranteed to blow the Starcraft Community away! … so stay tuned!
The score formula rewards macro oriented games, ideal length should be between 20 and 30 minutes. Playing against 2 or more AIs means a better score as your unit score will increase. Killing AI opponents too quickly won't give a good score though.
Playing 1v2 against Entropy I can get a score around 4000. But I'm not a good Starcraft player so my guess is that people here can get much higher scores.

Fixed for the Final version that is now updated in first post:
BWAI Gold Final * AI announcements removed for standard play... WORSHIP THE FOG! * Death Match Mode Gas2Kills trigger reduced slightly. * Ahzz Zerg fixed.

Is it possible to beat 7 of these comps?
rama is like d/d- maybe.
racine is probably d+ you are very limited to strategies in racine but playing it helps you bring your macro up. I am pretty positive you cant beat seven computers.

Well, as he stated the Entropy II AI shouldn't be any problem for normal players because the comp doesn't cheat.
Rather than start a brand new topic and add to the sea of threads, I've updated the first post with the current launcher thus bumping this topic from well beyond the grave. I have been meaning to post about this launcher for quite awhile, but have been just so busy. The members that make up this new launcher worked hard at putting all of this together and I feel their recognition warrants such a bump. (*maybe a moderator could change the topic title to "BWAILauncher" ?)
All the new information/links are in the first post as well as quoted below.
This will most likely be the last of the BWAI Project loaders in terms of the old school scripting and all of us are really looking forward to the BWAPI bot contest that is scheduled to be held this fall.
~ enjoy, it's been a lot of fun.

Try out ZAPOC, guys (Zerg Apocalypse, in the Xtreme section). It's great for 1v1 matches. At least I think it's in the Xtreme, it might be in the BWAIWar section.
yeahhh some of the harder ones that cheat are crazy. I use these to practice build order timings and stuff and I'll scout at standard timings and he has like 12 gateways when my first factory is only half done rofl.
I just downloaded BWAI and its not running on my computer. Does it need to be put in a certain folder. Can someone give me step through instructions because I found none online. Thanks
You could use the set custom target in the options tab to alter a backup patch_rt.mpq in your SC folder. This would allow you to run Chaos Launcher or any other program you normally do when playing Scraft. I believe this is how krasi0 used the launcher to play BWAI vs BWAPI matchups he recorded. Sorry if this is a little vague.

poiuy_qwert made this program and unfortunately he isn't an active TL.net member (not very active anywhere tbh). Your best bet would be to describe your problems in his support/bug thread here.

Sorry, been meaning to find time to get our modding wiki back up. Some step through instructions for various programs as well as this launcher would be a high priority. Will try to find time to edit the OP with some simple instructions if/when this ever happens.
EDIT: Also, big thnx to Chef again for submitting some high scoring replays for the BWAIChallenge a while back. Been meaning to publicly thank him.
links/downloads and main pages @ Bwai.com should work now, tho am having some issues w/ the forum pages.
I'm not as active in the community as once was, but still really enjoy Scraft history and preserving the game. Hope to get the forums up and running again soon.
