I saw it in a recent post by kid[red] about people saying ZEE-LOT instead of ZEL-LIT. This got me thinking how much shit i mis-pronunciate in BW, including names.
Here is how i pronounce the following things/names(or did until i met other bw players)
NAZ-GHOUL RE-KRUL CHO-HA HA-VZ instead of HOE-VZ ZEL-LIT DRA (like hy-DRA)-GOON instead of DRAG-GOON GAME-I - only posting this cause tech)option referred to it as GAMEY
probably some more, oh well, im goin to bed

Zealot is not pronounced zee-lot. Zeal may be pronounced that way, but zealous is not. If you want confirmation, check out dictionary.com and use the pronunciation key. They list it as zelet, with the first "e" sound being the same "e" sound used in pet as opposed to bee.
Read zealot as you would zealous with a -t, not zeal with an -ot.
P.S. Zealous is not pronounced zee-lus by the way, it's like jealous with a z. Just fyi

another id i get confused "mumyung" !!

Speaking of mens rea, I think the guy might be a lawyer or a member of the legal community. I'm a law student and I recently learned that "mens rea" is the requisite mental element to be convicted for a crime.
|
I pronounce mumyung like a common gypsy name mumun :[.
|
Irradiate not irradicate ~_~ (Tiamat did this but his commentary was still good )

Seriously? I learned that in Law-12 like right at the beginning, which was a really simple law course in my high school..

|
haha jew for jju.
yeah, i also say mum-young g-gone
and mmm.beer, it really is zel-lit. zealot is an actual word and that is how its pronounced.
|
mensrea is latin MENS-REA (RE as reptile not as repeat and A as a xD )
|
how do you guys pronounce Archmage?
|
I always say Chojja like "choy-ya"
And, it's definitely "zeh-let." If you say "zee-lot" you are just making yourself look like an illiterate. It is an actual word, you know. Like the dude said above, you look about as dumb as you would if you said "jee-los" for jealous.
How do you say "iloveoov" and "Doggi" (I say "doh-gi," don't ask me why)?
|
Jja sound in korean isn't a "J". It's like Tz, or Jz or something like that. It's a short sharp sound somewhere between tz/jz You really can't express it in english, which is why they write it as Jj
Cho-Tza

Z = Zed or Zee, it doesn't matter, its just the way its said in different areas, either way only the Australian way really matters as it always takes precedence over any other.

Anyone who listens to Jay-Z would know how to pronounce HovZ.
I tend to pronounce both consonants if they're together. S-sam-jang, etc. Altho for Chojja, I just pronounce if there was only one. Jju I pronouce as jay-ju though. Go figure.
Who can pronounce "qwerqweruiop"?

M.C. Nastie is what they call me in the club.

hehe, i wont even bother trying to type the way i pronounce things cos the way i say for instance the 'r' is a lot different as most english pronounce the 'r' ohwell, here it goes anyway (completely dutchorized :p)
Re-Krul (rekrul) Tsjo-Ja (chojja) Naz-Goel (nazgul) (silent g ;p) Meej-Nard (maynard) Daa-Man (daaman) Droon (drone) Bij-Jon-Der (beyonder) Twis-Ted :p (twisted) El-Kie (elky) En-Tie-Tie (guess :p)
could list a lot more but i think none will even understand anyway :p
