I spent a few mins on mine lol. I felt like I was ordering some shit at Starbucks with a huge line behind me. Like I DON'T KNOW MAN, F***. I kinda want the GRANDE SUPREMO but the UBER DELUXE MAGNIFICO is also prty good. o fuck me. I went with:
A: Soulkey, Barracks B: Speed, Best C: Queen, Rain D: herO, Mini
I'll probably be completely wrong and everyone will laugh at me. I'M USED TO IT.

afaik. hence the importance of players picking each other: they're picking their opponent.
I hate it because i didn't vote for JD , but the LB is made with your head , not with your heart !

because rush and light appealed to him that they arent confident against snow. in order to increase chances of snow being eliminated, a zerg should be in his group. sk was contemplating between sending queen and hero but ultimately sent hero because it eliminates the coinflip zvz matchup in his own group and lets him practice only one matchup for the entire round.
Everyone fears SnOw the most right now. Even if it is only in online play, SnOw has lost only three sets out of the last 20+ online sets. One to SK. One to Light. One to HerO. If SnOw can bring that same form from Online into Offline, he will win the season. Not even Soulkey has been able to properly play 50/50 vs SnOw online.
However, HerO is currently playing disgustingly good. He might be the one to stand in SnOw's way. Soulkey swapping herO and Light might just have been the best swap in ASL history.
Group D is kinda crazy. Isnt that like 4 ASL champions and the two strongest protoss in one group ? lol
Also SK putting Light in the same group sounds nuts. Although him only worrying about zvt all the time is a big advantage. He can just scrim and practice all zvt all the time.

I would love if Snow wins. Been awhile since we had a protoss that actually won ASL.
Also adds spice to the competition if Soulkey isnt just dominating everything

Group B and C sounds like a fun group to watch
Yeah group D is the most stacked group ever.
Honestly I wonder how Group D typically ends up the group of death in ASL.
Is it just picking order why this happens ? Like Group D gets the unwanted players most of the time
Just like everyone else here I find it really hard to predict these groups. It's not even because the Ro16 is that stacked but also because some of the usual dominant suspects have shown considerable weaknesses in the Ro24. Here's my LB:
Group A: Soulkey and Barracks (mostly because Light played poorly in the Ro24 while Barracks had a strong showing) Group B: Speed and Best (this could go either way; I doubt JD will advance but if he wins his first match vs Best and faces him in the final match, who knows... Group C: Queen and Rain (no idea how good Rain is atm. but he usually need very little practice to be competitive. Bisu looked super weak but in a direct match up against Rain, anything could happen...) Group D: Snow and Hero (Mini could easily take the spot of either of the two tbh. I just think there is a distinct possiblity of Mini losing to Rush in the losers match)

It's always the same and it doesn't matter with Snow. These "low stakes" online series are different. For the time being I think Snow just lacks something fundamental to take an offline tournament such as ASL. His performance in "low-stakes" online matches just never translates to offline. I would love to be proven wrong but for now the outcome of previous, comparable situations overwhelmingly point towards Snow not winning ASL.

to be fair he DID make the finals twice before but then lost to essentially the best vP players in the scene at the time (flash and rain).
But it's been a few years now, and he definitely underperforms given his offline stats. You can definitely go back to some of his previous ASL matches and see how he's choking or just unprepared for a BoX series.
Group A: Soulkey & Light. Probably the most easy R16 group to predict in the history of ASL. 0 % chance to advance for Scan and Barracks.
Group B: Best & JD. Hard group to call. All of these guys are kinda below top tier. Best over JD given their recent SOOP duel performance. Speed and Sharp are kinda 50/50, and that's only based on how much Speed is grinding and how much did he improve over the last 2 years. Technically speaking Sharp and Speed are superior to JD in mechanics, and can take him down no problem, but if JD keeps his game in top form based on is decision making, attention and preparation, he should beat them.
Group C: Queen & Rain. I have no idea what is Rain's current form, but he is the best protoss is ASL/KSL history, so you can not count him out no mater what. Bisu looks seriously washed up and that is not just cause of his recent performance vs. Baxter. From what i have seen lately, the guy is lacking concentration and control on the battlefield, often not tracking his units all the time and having attention god knows where. This is the worst Bisu i have seen in many years. Perhaps 36 years of age does mean something. Action does not impress me with his decision making - i have seen some wanky games from him lately. Queen looks solid AF. To me he looks like a favorite to win ASL.
Group D: Hero & Snow. This has to be one of the top 3 most "deadly groups of death" i have ever seen in ASL R16. Easy group to predict despite that. Hero will plow Mini, Snow will plow Rush. Hero will beat Snow. Mini vs. Rush - does not matter - whoever wins will get stomped by Snow. Snow's PvP at this point in time i would rank even ahead of Rain's. It's also his best matchup (not PvT like you all think).
Let's see how it goes. Rooting for JD to win ASL (bottom low chances to say the least, but IDK, i must support my dong no mater what odds).
