Hey guys, it's been a while since I posted an update about the Chinese BW scene. I noticed more sponsors have emerged recently in China, so I recorded all the show matches today (11/4/2023).
There were 21 show matches played for a total prize pool of ~$2,808, excluding any extra prices offered by viewers. I guess the Chinese economy is not doing that bad after all.

Please excuse the format - somehow, I couldn't upload the table as an image.
Some other updates:
Several Korean players play show matches with Chinese players regularly, such as HBQ, DY123, Srich, Sobenz, Ridesky, Ruin, Yoon. Chinese sponsors also sponsored some top Kor games, including Soma vs Mini (full 9 games) two days ago.
Sanpao is no longer the number one streamer in China based on the number of users. Lovett has much more users on average, and he almost exclusively casts Mihu vs Zhanhun, or one of them vs some Korean players.
Zhanhun has improved a lot this year after he switched his focus to 1v1. He is the no.1 player in 2v2, BGH and fastest, and he was distracted previously. His win ratio vs Mihu has been above 50% since March.
Xiaoshuai has been suffering from tenosynovitis for the past year, and he had to stop practicing often.

Without tenosynovitis, XiaoShuai would have dominated Chinese StarCraft in 2023. Loup is more affected by tenosynovitis. AP, JeDi, QiaoGege and so on are influenced too much by the family.

Show match Chinese vs Europe will be great (Dewalt,Bonyth,Sziky, Eonzerg, Oya...)

I wouldn't be surprised if these were used for gambling. My apologies if they aren't.

The Chinese government's supervision of gambling is very strict, although it can not be completely eliminated, but on the surface of the restrictions and controls are very good. Previously, individual players were said to have been sentenced for gambling, which also cleaned up China StarCraft to a certain extent.

Nice to see Starcraft scene growing in China.
Unfortunate regarding Xiaoshuai. This game really isn't kind to the hands of its best players.
