I want to see Flash return as Protoss and show everyone how it's done
More seriously, I'd love to see Fantasy take a crack at ASL. As well as more active attempts to rig the maps in favor of Protoss I'd also like if all matches were at minimum BO3 instead of the BO1's for RO24 Set 1 and Set 2 but there seems to be monetary issues preventing that.

When a bunch of people make noise you can feel the vibrations and the current set-ups do nothing to address that!!

When you are in the booth, they usually play with the lights in such a way that s it s really hard to see the crowd from the booth, but the sound is the real issue and normally you have your/the game music + a sort of noise cancelling headset on top and then the booth. That was the wcg setup and we had to test it before tournaments in various ways. It usually worked well enough. ASL booth seem a bit less advanced and also perhaps they don't use noise cancelling setup at all. The room and stage are also much smaller so it s harder to isolate the sound too given the space constraints.

Yep, hydra busts have become a bane to ZvP. It's so boring seeing the game end to a 3h hydra 50 % of the time.

I would like the ro24 to finally have the same format as the ro16
that's it
would improve the tournament quality immensely

Maybe they can differentiate the Ro24 from Ro16 by making it:
Bo3 Match up A Bo3 Match up B Bo1 Winners Bo1 Losers Bo1 Deciding match for 2nd place
Or maybe that’s stupid, I don’t know.
The only thing I’d like for the next ASL is Flash returning. Better PvZ maps would be nice as well but not sure how that effects the other match ups.

Unfortunately, no matter how much we want our favorite game to live for a long time. But it seems to me that the ASL format is slowly fading. If you don’t change anything, then ASL will last another 3-4 seasons (~2 years), then it will be a little boring (probably).
Something really needs to change. Firstly: the bad thing is that in Ro24 all the games are BO1. Secondly: Maybe you can make Ro32 BEFORE Ro24, i.e. increase the number of participants in the group. Qualifying games for Ro24 are good, but we don’t see all of them (although the organizers probably show more or less interesting games). Thirdly: maybe it’s possible to somehow attract players from universities (If I’m not mistaken, Calm holds some kind of tournament among students). It is clear that perhaps even the champion of the student league will be weaker than most of the top players. but still it will be something new. Fourth: allow foreign players to take part (possibly allow to play online up to stage 1/4). That is why it is necessary to possibly expand Ro24 to Ro36 or Ro48 Surely the presence in the groups of the strongest players from Europe, the USA, China, South America, etc. will bring something new to this tournament. (This may be of interest to some cyber television (channels) of the countries from which their representative plays.) (Well, perhaps other players, due to the fact that online qualifiers are allowed, will begin to train harder) Fifth: Do some kind of collaboration with Bombastic. Take for example the champion of the next (or last) BSL. P.S. It is possible to somehow give some 2 quotas to the finalist of the WOMEN'S ASL league.
But something needs to change. The format of the games has been the same for 15 seasons, we need to introduce something new.

3 ASLs a year and 2 GSLs a year would also be great
idk why this isn't the case, especially since BW is so much popular than SC2 in S. Korea..
I think that even if they've opened donations to lessen the tournament running spending load would be a good idea. They already have this in place for GSL, too.
Ahh. a man can dream, doesn't he..

Ahh. a man can dream, doesn't he.. While I certainly would love that change, I believe the issue is mostly that Blizzard charges a ton of money to run BW tournaments (if someone knows they aren't still doing that, please correct me). Plus a lot of the players are streamers who lose money by not streaming in order to practice.

I don't think having worse players in the tournament is likely to improve it. If they were going to do something like you suggest, I think it would be better to do it as a whole separate league (like an expanded ACS).

We're back in 2009/2010 again. 3 hatch hydra was the way most proleague games involving PvZ ended.

Yea maybe it's just the nature of the MU if protoss goes for FE? lol
Forge FE has been around since 2007 and we're still seeing at least attempted hydra bust all the time. There was a period in 2008/2009 where it was out of style (still happened a lot but not nearly as frequently as today IIRC) and zergs developed 3 hatch spire -> 5 hatch muta to combat it.
I think it was specifically the map Destination that made hydra bust kinda hard? Although at same time it seemed really hard for protoss to develop good sim city doing forge FE for a while. By the end of that map's life-cycle I think map balance was pretty reversed though in favor of Z lol.

I started to make screencaps of all the sad, sorry little match-up and map stat cards they display on the command pane for a couple seconds. It's like
Card1 x--------------------------x TEMPEST T v Z 0-1 x--------------------------x
Card2 x----------------------------------------x Soulkey ~~~~~~~JYJ v ALL 1-0 ~~~~~~v ALL None v T None ~~~~~~ v Z None x----------------------------------------x
What is the point of this? Either collect stats from other tourneys too (Ultimate battle event perhaps, it is run by the same organisers | KCM as it is also using the same map pool and is a weekly competition | use maps for multiple seasons | etc.?) or just don't show this.
And also, the Ro8 preview from BR reminded me how interesting it is to hear & see more discussion about the maps, it is a shame they are only discussed in the Ro24 1st stream(? -- not clearly remembering this one)
It is a cool improvement that now they show repeats after all games starting from ro24
