20 years ago in 2003, I joined WGTour as a translation admin and then made my way to news admin, and into Nation Wars and some Clan League support. I also became a WCG referee, a national team leader for France-A and then NEU, and a clan admin for many clans, and currently ash. More recently I was a BWCL CL admin before becoming the head admin for the past few seasons.
But it is time for me to step down from my admin duties, as I am expecting my first kid in September and thus won't have quite the time needed to admin anything. Hopefully I can still play a game here and there and occasionally comment on TL.
As a result there will be a few changes for next season of BWCL, which will start in September (exact date TBA).
mG[Queen] will continue her excellent work as the CL superadmin, she will also take over some of my duties, in particular related with registration, so if you need anything or have questions please reach out to her.
nOm.Esk4l4de is the new Little League superadmin, he is experienced with the NSL (which i encourage y all to check) and also has played in the LL himself, all LL related questions are for him, including LL registration.
Cwt)ShibaTerran will be the main point of contact for maps, he is in charge of map selection and the map packs (still a team work with other admins).
As we do not yet have a new head admin, my good friend ash.Return, also in a similar position to me, time-wise and family-wise, will become co-head admin with me. In effect we are both 80% retired but we will still be here for any strategic decision or key issue, or if any of the superadmins requests our advice. We hope this is only a temporary solution until we have a new admin, but it should work well enough for now.
A lot of things were updated and upgraded over the seasons, our grid is now more automated and easy to move from season to season, we also simplified and clarified the rules and associated penalties, as well as streamlined the process for complaints. Finally through all the hard work of squad leaders and constant communication, we are able to fix problems dynamically as well.
The BWCL is the longest running league in BW and I am honoured that I was part of its history, and I hope it will continue for many more years.
As for me personally, I don't think I can tag everyone I'd give a shout-out to here, and perhaps I ll make a blog post for that at a later date, but it was a pleasure and an honour working with everyone in the community over the last 20 years, from Nation Wars to Clan wars, admining, going to LAN and events around the world, playing in various leagues or for fun custom games with a bunch of great people.
Thanks to the WGTour.com admin team in 2003 who brought me in and started this admin journey, and to everyone since then.
Cheers,
ash.Baal
