There seems to be a lot of interest lately in the old school tournaments from the early Kespa days; it's cool to see folks taking an interest in or casting the days when legends played, some of whom are new and some boomers who are revisiting them :D
Anyway, I have been too so I thought I'd share this in case anyone wants to see.
I just finished casting the entire SKY Proleague post season from 2006... the format was 2 full rounds of matches, and at the end of each round there were playoffs for the "Round champion." Then after both rounds the champions of each round played in a grand championship. So it's 7 Bo7s total, and I casted every single game (except 1 where no VOD was available).
There's a playlist if you want to watch the whole series:
The first video is pretty long and explains the format and the maps, but if you're familiar you can skip it.
I didn't really start following pro BW in earnest and casting until 2007, so this was kind of a learning experience for me to see what the meta was like in 2006, how it compares to later meta that I'm very familiar with and also the earlier meta which I've been looking at a lot the last couple years (last year I did the IOPS and EVER OSLs from 2005). It's an interesting transition point where you can see a mix of build order styles from both eras. But there were a lot of really fun games!
If anyone has any recommendations for a good tourny/series/etc from the old days that I should do next, let me know!
The stuff in that torrent was pulled directly from the MBCGame website before it closed but we did notice at the time there were a few VoDs missing, I seem to be missing a second one from that series in particular upon checking there. I downloaded a lot of other things that were available and have them scattered among multiple hard drives, but I unfortunately don't seem to have anything else from the Sky Proleague.
Anyway, nice work, I will try to watch some games from my favourite players in this, it's always interesting to see how much the game play has changed over time.
