In a year, Eclipse x3, Polypoid x3, Benzen x2, Plasma x2. These maps really good to play so much? If they are good, whether maps are better?
Eclipse, Terran is so hard to take 3rd. Polypoid looks like Gladiator, just marco. Benzen was made to kill Terran player by Zerg and Protoss. Plasma is vetoed by everyone (except me).

If someone were to modernize forbidden city it would probably be cool. Right it leads at least one more gas base for each player.
Also, just off the top of my head, I think Ascension should definitely be added to the map pool, and Polypoid should remain or be replaced with GOODNIGHT.

we will get whichever maps are in tthe ASL map pool at the time..
that's why they started using FS again..

I think they could keep Eclipse, Sylphid and Polypoid as the core and rotate the rest, perhaps by copying ASL. They should also make the minimap semi-transparent to encourage people to try the new maps. :-)

Copying the ASL map pool for ladder doesn't make sense since ASL maps tend to be one-trick ponies and/or novelty acts with their own gotchas.
Best would be to have a stable core of maps for a year (Polypoid, Eclipse and some other) and then rotate some other new or old maps in.
Ladder should have 0 maps of the Neo Medusa/Plasma/Sparkle kind. That's what customs are for.

How do you know they will change mappool ?They didnt fix the scv glitch and didnt reset the season for almost 6 months.I think remastered is dead honestly.

They did change the map pool for the new season. They just took the ASL maps. So that's the 1 thing they have done.

Yeah Polypoid, Sylphid and maybe Circuit Breaker/Eclipse should be the core 3 and rotate the rest with ASL maps.

I would love to have back Destination, Tau Cross or Longinus.
But I think the smart choice would be to mirror the ASL mappack

Bring Sylphid back, keep Poly and Eclipse, this way we have a standard map for each type of map.

i hate ultimate stream with a passion, aside from that solid suggestions.
I also like Zakrom s idea of keeping a set of standard maps (esp for 3 players maps, so few are good, just keep sylphid and go 2 or 4 player maps).

I suspect if we get a new season Blizz will make it a mirror of the ASL maps like they did with the current map pool but I'll make one anyways

Poly/Eclipse/Sylphid - all are proven from several seasons of ladder and ASL to be solid new age maps that most people enjoy
Ascension - cool design with the throwback to blue storm but without the frustration, feels good to play on and has shown us some great ASL games and sponmatches. this and Sylphid are both 3p but play very differently which warrants having them both included
Polaris Rhapsody - puts in a 2nd 2p map that is very different from Eclipse, keeps it fresh
Good Night - promising new ASL12 map
Lemon - non standard new ASL12 map. it's a good decision to have 1 experimental map in the map pool if the map pool itself is good enough that after 3 vetoes most of the playerbase is still satisfied with the remaining maps. this doesn't work with Plasma in the current map pool, but Lemon should work in this one

At this point I'm gonna vote for Lost Temple. Lol @ some of those suggestions.

I really don't like Lemon. The concept itself could be interesting, but the execution feels lazy. It feels like they pretty much added extra resources to the main, made it small and then left the rest of the map just nothing.

there is a forest in the middle around the base.. wouldn't call that nothing.

Call me old fashioned (i mean i have wgt in my name so...) but while i find it good for asl to have funky new maps, I prefer "normal" maps for ladder given the seasons are so long. If it rotated every 2 months sure, but now who wants to play plasma still? Ringing bloom s also not great, benzene s proxy paradise.
Odds are the next experimental map may be fun for a month, then it ll fade and every one will ban it,.it s a waste

personally I will play anything but FS on ladder, but I do agree that having Poly/Eclipse/Sylphid together for one rotation would make a lot of sense. Other than that I think Good Night is an obvious choice. Other than that I don't really care, just change the ladder maps more often...

Since most people tend to veto 2-3 maps, should really open the pool up a little more so you're not stuck on the same 4 maps (which in reality is really like 2 after all said and done being Eclipse/Poly majority of the time).

Subcommunities: Fastest, Big games hunter, lost temple abusers
Ladderpoint hunters/ proscene followers: Eclipse, Lemon, Ascension

If you want to keep the segregation of certain maps and subcommunities and keep the ladder what it is, a dead space with want-to-be these are probally the best choices:
1.Eclipse, 2.Neo Sylphid, 3.Ascension, 4.Lemon 5. Polypoid,6.Largo,7.Circuit breaker
New maps:Ascension, Lemon, Largo
Current maps: Eclipse, Polypoid
Old maps: Circuit breaker, Neo Sylphid.
2 player maps: Eclipse, Lemon.
3 player maps: Ascension, Neo Sylphid
4 player map: Circuit breaker, Polypoid, Largo.
Tileset:
Midnight (blue): Ascension
Green grass: Neo Sylphid
light brown dark metal: Eclipse, Largo,lemon
grey, white, black: Circuit breaker
green, light yellow/brown: polypoid
An problem i see are the spawning position, if they look the same or similar enought, you may not know which map it is. Specially if you are more casual... Just look at our current maps overmind cacoon map aka ringing bloom and shakuras temple, or right side benzene and eclipse, or even Polypoid left side and eclipse and Plasma left side and Benzene.
Eclipse left side and Largo(map) looks the same.
So after thinking about this i think we need to take this also into account.
Final solution:
1.Eclipse
2. Lemon
3.Neo Sylphid
4.Ascension
5.Circuit breaker
6. Good night
7.Polypoid or bubbles
New maps:Ascension, Lemon, Good night
Current maps: Eclipse, (Polypoid) or Bubbles (similar layout)
