So I broke my BW cd in half today and thus had no choice but to download a no cd loader to play. But since the loader doesn't provide the original in-game music, cinematics, and the campaign level, it's hella annoying. I heard somewhere that you can copy the music files from install.exe or something and be able to listen to them. So not to shit anyone but I'm uber noob when it comes to dealing with this kind of stuff. First I don't know what install.exe is, where to find it, and how to copy music files from it to work with the loader.

If you can get the .iso file you only need a program like Daemon Tools and you can play without any loader or complications.

For some reason the BWL4 won't work. It simply says "Unable to launch application".

Two options:
1) Download a mini .iso of broodwar and mount it using daemon tools, alcohol 120, or other inferior software.
2) Use a no cd crack (hate doing this) and copy the install.exe from a full .iso of broodwar or from a friend's broodwar disc.
I didn't include BWLauncher as an option cause the current version is shit.

Sorry for the inconvenience but the thing is lol, I'm noob enough that I don't even know what install.exe is and how to find it on a disc, let alone copy files from it.

Do what Buttface said. Here is the iso:
http://ftp3.dns-systems.net/~zgh1042/BroodWar1.ISO

Now download Daemon tools (search on google). Open daemon tools and "mount" the ISO file. It will emulate a CD rom drive and you can play.

I don't think the mini-iso will provide him with the campaign and the in-game music though?

It only includes online-playing and the in-game digital sounds if i'm not mistaken.

Go to gamecopyworld.com, search starcraft, find the no-CD image, download it, load it up onto Daemon Tools, problem solved.

even the full ISO doesn't have in-game music and campaign if i remember correctly

The full iso has everything, it's just all the data on a cd compressed into a file. The only difference when you play is you don't physically need a cd.

I just DL'd the iso and Daemon and now I can play the campaigns and b.net but strangely there is no music.

U can copy the original install.exe from your BW real CD overwriting the one in your SCBW folder. There you have it, music all over the place.

Umm it should work for everybody, I dno what OP has been doing -__-

BWL Beta is supposedly able to run 1.15 without a CD, I tried it once; seems to work OK on Single Player.
