Let’s talk about the map Hitchhiker and whether all agree it will make for an exciting unorthodox map for this season’s ASL9. Does anyone have any current statistics for the balance of this map in modern sponsored matches? I think it has the potential to be an action packed low economy type of map. Anyone feel different? I am looking forward to the games that will be played on it in the RO16 and onwards.

Small rush distance, majority non-natural pathways.
From the small amount of games I saw it's mostly rush into mass air.

Due to the moderate far 3rd gas & extremely difficult 4th gas I see a lot of timing push from Terran to kill opponent outright b4 they can amass gas tech.

It's an awesome map. Very glad it is in the map pool. But I'm afraid it won't get used a lot, at least on the ladder and in non-kor tournaments.

Hitchiker in ASL? Really? This makes me so happy. I was randomly wondering about older maps I'd like to see in ASL and Hitchhiker kept popping up in my head. No idea how it will play it. I'm just along for the ride.

This is the kind of weird map that I like (not a fan of stuff like Inner Coven and Sparkles), saw a few games on stream and it looks like tons of fun!

So stoked for this. Iirc there was a community(?) tournament with korean pro/am streamers that featured HH back in 2019 or 2018, but the games weren't all that great from what I recall. Hoping they show us some good games

One thing I hate about this map is the snow. Makes visibility so much worse. They should really change the ground into something else.

I like the map but the top base is just bad, you have to build stuff to the left and it messes with the pathing a lot at least for terran. Not fun. Other than that the idea of the map itself is cool, I would place the 3rd gas closer though, a mineral only 3rd on a map with no space for vultures or marines to move around is not ideal to say the least.
