if you use utorrent i know you can cap your upload at whatever speed doesn't affect your internet, IE 10 or 15 kbs or whatever works for you
QI, just limit the upload a bit, you don't need to seed at full speed
Upload wise my line maxes out at 48 kb/s (stupid A-DSL) and I have my torrent upload capped at 40 kb/s, so I can browse properly, etc and when I play on Bnet I cap the upload at 25 kb/s

A lot of people probably stopped seeding this particular file involuntarily because of this. (the part beyond the .avi is _neo_ btw, on the nada vs jaedong file..)
Yes, I also included a text file stating that the file appered to be not complete, but could be played with two players. There was no need to rename it. Clubbox sometimes does that with certain files.

It is always my hope that people would do it out of respect for the people who initiate. We shouldnt have to have these rules if everyone just has some respect.

Why should it make a difference if you download 10% of a torrent's files or all of them? Courtesy demands that you seed on. Ideally everyone would seed 1:1 (even though in reality this doesn't work, because there are always people with better con who seed faster, etc).
didn't really know it affected it much. My computer really sucks at keeping multiple programs at once, causing a lot of lag on it. Ugh, I guess I'll just download off sc2 then, don't want to cause any pissed-off rampages :O
O and if anyone wondered about that Nal_rock vs july vod on 815 nearly a year ago, yeah, that was probably me
Download from wherever you want. It is pretty simple just to leave something seeding overnight though.

Torrent ethics: If you're an uploader, complete the upload in one go and don't leave people hanging. If you're an early leacher, stay and seed quite a bit more than 1:1 ratio. Limit number of upload connections if you have a slow line. It's just annoying with twats seeding a whopping 1kb/s.
Should be common sense.
I agree.

This isn't like a huge crisis or anything. It is simply a heads up for people who may not be aware of how their actions effect others. When Haji puts up a 10 GB file, it would be nice if the first three completions didnt simply turn it off. It is a lot of work to put it together and seed it, and not helping to seed is just disrespectful. Hopefully people are a little more aware after this.
And yes, I understand it may not be someone on this board, but if everyone here is going to do it, it will go a long ways in helping prevent problems.
Next season is starting real soon and next week I'm planning on getting adding an additional 250GB hard drive, I'm really running out of space on my E: drive :p
Thank god you made this thread mani. I go ape shit bananas when i put something up see 22 completed and 2 seeding including me . I dunno bout you guys but my bandwidth goes to shit when i up/download so even if you dedicated like 30-40kb its greatly appreciated

yea that's totally understandable. It'd suck if you hit the limit and you really need to use the internet for research or smth.

I highly doubt the FBI is going to be investigating the transfer of starcraft vods. The only entities who might care would be ogn/mbc/kespa and they all have the stated goal of globalizing esports
Do what I do guys. Turn on the BT right before you sleep. If it's done when I'm sleeping, cool I uploaded a crapload. If it's not done yet, I turn it off cause my computer isn't that fast so I don't want BT lagging my comp the whole day. When bedtime comes again I just turn it on again and it should complete by then.
I really hoped that this wouldn't be a problem. I always want a strong loyal TL community. If people start being dicks and become leechers, this might end up making TL's wonderful torrent system into a private club.
I leave the laptop on all night, and BT is continually running. But it irritates me that people would just take and not help give back. We are a community... not a wound for leeches.
I rarely download the entire contents of a torrent. I continue to seed much after 1:1, though you won't download shit from me after the 2 or 3 files that I selected for dl myself ;p
