guardian is a waste, goliath 3-3 > guards. no to tell vessels...
There is a saying, if zerg makes guardians, he will lose.
Going to have to argue this one. Modesty was extremely successfully with guardians and even won a 41SL with his guardian builds/earned a silver in the LoveTV SL.
The existence of such rare games only proves the point. Guardians are gas expensive and require constant pasturing. They delay/reduce the defilers which can be lethal in ZvT. But watching guardians kill m&m might have some beneficial effects on your personal life
Actually, the consistent rate of destruction Modesty caused before he stepped away from the scene spoke volumes about it's success. This a great build that zergs should mix in more.

The game isn't supposed to make it this far. And if it does, the devastation the guardians cause should allow the transition. I will allow the argument that this build is not viable on all maps.
Fare point. Modesty was an interesting zerg, pity we didn't see him develop further. My experience and bias against using guards is based on the many vods I watched where most of the fails were due to very poor guardian control and defense. Basically every guardian strategy revolves around making them and sending via ctrl+a to kill something which easily gets countered. I have rarely seen scourges sent to defend an expensive group of 5-7 guardians.
the only problem i see here is we were talking about pizza barbecue just to buy pizza 4 fromages. :D
no what i mean is,2hatch muta with fast third into guards is pretty nice,it just requires monster micro and a bit of luck with oponent style of play,if you are a zerg player doing this facing a terran going for rax cc into rax early push u can say good bye to your third, and u will be proly already forced to make sunkens.so your timing is already delayed,or you can always face a more conservative terran player that just decides to defend just to get 3 starports wraiths and annihilate your guards, the chances to f*ck up doing 2 hatch is pretty high.
cmon this has been like 3 weeks since jaedong has played. EFFORT WAS LOSING TO C/D on ladder when he first came. Flash was losing to shinee 0-3 on ladder. AND THIS IS ZVT. FS IS MOST IMBA map for zvt yet jaedong is 12-9 against shinee who hits #1~#6 on fish ladder every season? that is downright awesome
Exactly. And the list of the ex-pros who had hard times during skill recovering can be extended.
Well, after watching games with Shinee, I have more confidence that it might be JD, because of the muta control and solid macro. Also the victories our Shinee looked like an avalanche which something only former pro could pull off. Losses were mostly due to poor unit control (like forgetting and losing the key defiler in open), doing some funky allins. Decision making was also not an amateur lvl so if this is not JD, I'd like to see this guy perform some TV matches.

Yeah I am shocked his contract goes until November. He's done no streaming, no tournaments. Is he still being paid by them? Very weird situation, I hope eventually we find out more before November...
What is the current popularity of brood war in Korea? There are quite a lot of ex-pro gamers that are still playing, but do they still have the same fame as in the past?
If you had to put a percentage, would you say it's 50-50 between bw and sc2?

its more like 85:15 bw and sc2. sc2 has absolutely no place in korea. According to statistics, sc2 is like ranked 23~30 most played in pc rooms while bw is consistently #6~8. Blizzard is like the only MAJOR sponsor that keeps sc2 running. No one plays sc2 in korea. Also, according to movie, he says this may be the last proleague scene for sc2. Sc2 is going to die in korea soon.

Movie spoke about PL and SC2?
If all of this is true, is there potential that KeSPA goes back to BW?

most koreans seem to know its gonna end soon. I doubt kespa goes back to bw. Koreans are speculating SKT is getting ready to cut sc2 sponsor.
The viewers are all there, the best players (almost all except JD) are also there. Just get the sponsors, PL back and one OSL -- money will flow. Well, it might not be as big but it could at least be better than now. Current afreeca model exists as long as there are good players, all of them are former pros. If no new players appear, the scene is destined to slowly fade into oblivion... And new players will emerge only with the reestablishment of PL. My personal opinion, BW can be revived and businesses can make money, but the chances are pretty low, the sad reality is that we shall have 3-5 more years before it will go away with almost all our pros reduce streaming time / go to army / have a family / you name it. Also, the level of games will never increase because this is all "playing for fun".
